Reporting

I am relatively new to OneStream and have recently taken responsibility for managing the platform within our organization. As I look for ways to improve the user experience, I feel our current reporting structure may be excessive. We currently have more than 90 reports available to users, including approximately 30 budget reports alone.  The data is basically formatted differently in each report (ie Monthly, YTD, FullYear)  I am curious how other organizations manage and govern the Reports function. How many reports do you typically make available to licensed users, and what best practices have you found for balancing user flexibility with report standardization and simplicity?  

Issue Description: The report displays data correctly for the user who developed it. However, when accessed by other users, the report appears blank and does not return any data. The following validations have been performed: The affected user has Administrator security access. Access to all dimensions used in the report, including the Cube View report, has been granted to Everyone. Relevant data is available for FY2027. Despite the above validations, the report continues to display data only for the developer and remains blank for other users. Further investigation is required to identify the root cause. I installed the wrong Excel add-in on my new computer (7.0.1 when our tenant is only compatible with 6.6.0 or lower). Now, when I open Excel and try to logon, I get the below error message. I have figured out that if I manually disable the OneStreamExcelAddin.XFFunctions and completely close out of Excel then, when I restart it, I'm able to logon. The annoying part is, if I forget to disable it and close out of Excel, the next time I use Excel I have to go through that whole process of saving and closing all my workbooks, disabling the add-in, restarting Excel, just to use the add-in. I'm thinking there must be something leftover from the previous install that is causing this and I've tried to completely wipe everything from the initial install before installing the correct version but to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this and know what steps I can take to remediate? (I should also note that I made the same mistake on my old computer and had the same issue, so this does not jus

I get the following error on version PV910 SV100 on a 9.2.0 install when running the Dashboard Maintenance Audit reports for Parameters, this one is for the Updated report.There was an error processing report 'rpt_DashboardMaintenanceUpdated_ONC'.Error processing DataSet ‘DashboardMaintenanceUpdated’. Error executing Workspace Assembly Service class ‘Workspace.ONC.Assembly_ONC.ServiceFactory.The conversion of a nvarchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value. And the Assembly is encrypted, so can't take a look under the bonnet.Any ideas? 

Dear community, I currently have an html document which is located in the file Explorer under "Documents/Public" folder. I am trying to get this HTML document to be presented into the components, embedded in a dashboard. However, with either a Web Content component or a File Viewer component (which will pinpoint to this specific file in Application Database File, as soon as I open the dashboard, it will load the html page into my default browser... I am using OS v8.1 ... is it a known bug or the expected behaviour ? What is even more strange, directing the Full File Name to a URL will correctly open a document in a dashboard ... Regards,

Hello, our company recently adopted OneStream for our account reconciliation tool. Our current process is that the account reconciliations are tracked within excel.  My current issue is that for one account, I am reconciling multiple entities within one excel document. I want to be able to integrate these T-docs within my excel file for easy upload to OneStream. Whenever I do this for one entity, it seems to work well. However, if I add multiple T-Docs, OneStream seems to only pull the first T-Doc within the file instead of looking at the unique identifiers to pull the correct T-Doc. Is there a solution to this? Hello,We are experiencing an intermittent Genesis error.All default values appear to be correctly configured, but the error is triggered for some users and not for others, even when they have the same security roles and access rights. The issue is also not tied to a specific report, as it can occur on different reports depending on the user.Has anyone encountered a similar issue?Example error message:We also noticed that when we remove the link between the Content and Main workspaces, the issue is resolved. However, this workaround does not work for all affected users.Thank you for your help.

Hi If/when we are going to move to the browser solution, I would like to have my dashboard menu to be align to left. This is how it looks in the app:   This is how it looks in browser. It is OK that icons are in colors, but I can't align the text to left.  Component properties are the following (with no effect) Any suggestion on how to align it? Regards Ole 

I’m working on a Cube View where one of the rows is a calculated row (using CVR / GetDataCell to derive the value from other rows). The users want to be able to enter comments directly in the Cube View in a column that appears “in front of” (or next to) this calculated row.Has anyone implemented comments or text entry against a calculated row like this?Specifically, I’m trying to understand:Whether it’s possible to add comments to a CVR-based calculated row (where the numeric data is not stored, only calculated at runtime).If not directly, what design patterns are recommended?Any examples of Cube View layout or member/filter tricks that let you show a calculated row and a comment entry cell side by side for that row.Environment is OneStream version 8.5.3, and this is a standard Cube View used for reporting (not a custom dashboard).Thanks in advance for any ideas or examples.

Does anyone know where I can look to start getting a better understanding of automatically scheduled monthly reports or packages?  We have several Business Units that all look at the information a bit differently.   Any suggestions on what has worked for your Business Leaders in regards to what they see each month? 

What does this error mean?   It is a new Genesis instance, with only the menu and one link to existing dashboard. Regards Ole

Hi,I am using OneStream version 8.2 and the Excel Add-In with a workbook that contains XFGetCell formulas. The workbook retrieves data successfully, and Refresh Workbook works as expected.However, the Calculate, Translate, and Consolidate buttons in the OneStream ribbon are disabled (grayed out). I am logged in successfully and can retrieve data through XFGetCell formulas, but I cannot perform any processing actions from Excel.Could anyone help me understand:What conditions must be met in OneStream 8.2 for the Calculate, Translate, and Consolidate buttons to become enabled?Is there any way to trigger Calculate, Translate, or Consolidate from Excel when working with XFGetCell-based templates?Thank you! 

Our users are wanting to know how many applications are in each environment, then show the applications under each environment by clicking on the environment, plus the ability to enter a comment next to the application. Similar to the Cloud Admin Tool, Applications on top, user would click the environment, the grid would then show the applications. A text field next to the application name where they could input a comment. Any thoughts on how this could be done? Appreciate it in advance!

Hi, is there a way to download an updated GolfStream version? I like to use it to reference different formulas, dashboards, features etc. but things break every time we upgrade our version....Rather than filing a ticket and modifying rules manually behind the scenes, I think it would be helpful to have an updated one issued by OneStream.  I reviewed this forum and checked the Solution Exchange to no avail. Sometimes I just need help "getting started" with an idea that I've seen in a demo or solution and using Golfstream is a solid reference.  

Hello everyone! Not sure if this is the right forum or not, but I am creating a very simple home page using the Genesis Home Page. Creating buttons to go to Dashboards or Workflows was not an issue, but I cannot figure out how to get the buttons to work to navigate to a document or website. Below is how I was attempting to do it. If anyone has any advice on what I am missing, it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.  

Hi Team, Generally we can export the cube view to an Excel. But when we attached the Cube view to the Dashboard through cube view component. at the time we wont find the export option. Can you please advise us. how export a dashboard(Cube view attached to dashboard).

We used to be able to reference and retrieve the RPTA Audit Reports from the Guided Reporting Solution. After we upgraded the RPTA to Navigation Center, we are unable to retrieve the Single Journal Detail Report from the Guided Reporting or our custom homepage dashboard. See the prompt box displayed in the Guided Reporting when retrieving the Single Journal detail report:  

I have a bi blend based on cube view md. I have an issue with the Year total. The value is exaggerated as I have millions and not billions and because of this the height bars of the months is short. Does anyone have a clue on how to have the correct values?Thanks.

Hi everyone !We'd like to recover data in a date format using Quick Views.First step is to setup a CubeView that can recover this data. To do so, the CubeView setup is done in "Cell Type = Date " in the Data tab of the given line on the CubeView definition. Setup of cell type in CubeViewThen data can be correctly input in the CubeView:Possible selection when data is type "Date".This particular date is saved as 639,160,344,000,000,000 (numeric value) in the data base.Next step it to recover this data using the quickview, but I can't get the correct style. It seems that the data in Onestream is different to that of the Excel date style (Excel starts from 1/1/1900 as day 1).Set up of the style in a given quick viewDoes anyone know how to properly set up the style to recover dates using a QuickView?Thank youCarlos

Hi ,We have DEV and PROD environment and we want users to have read-only option to cube views in PROD environment.  If we restrict the cube view group maintenance, users could execute the cube view  but not see how it defined. All options are greyed out like shown in below picture.Is it possible to have Read-only option for cube view in production?  

Hi,Anyone on Version 8 who's actually tried to use this 'enhancement' feature in Cube Views?  We requested this on Ideastream a long time ago with a lot of support. I can see this command is now available in the header format dialog; however, it would appear that the only thing it does is change the header from left justified to center view.  There does not seem to be a way to actually 'merge' column headers, despite the fact that it's called "MergeAndCenter". Even the system documentation appears to confirm this behavior. Someone please tell me I'm missing something here and it actually is possible to merge column headers, because we really really wanted this feature. Thanks

Hi everyone,I'm building a Balance Sheet report in the Text Editor. For various reasons, I have two separate CubeViews: one for Assets and another for Liabilities & Equity.I've placed both CubeViews inside a table within the Text Editor (one per cell, side by side), trying to display them in the classic balance sheet layout — Assets on the left, Liabilities & Equity on the right.However, I'm having trouble getting them to render correctly next to each other.Has anyone done this before? Is a two-cell table in the Text Editor the right approach, or is there a better/recommended way to place two CubeViews side by side in a single report?Any tips or examples would be greatly appreciated.Thanks!
