I have a column in my cube view with cell values retrieved using a custom (GetDataCell(BR#[...])) call. The value is returned just fine, but the cells in that column are losing formatting that should come from the row format. If I use an XFBR dashboard data string function to return the GetDataCell call as text, it also works and the formatting is retained. If anybody has a suggestion as to why using the Finance rule to return a single value is replacing the formatting, that would be appreciated as that is my preferred approach. Thanks!
Hello,I am looking to create a dashboard displaying all rule confirmations (name, text, amount, failure or warning, text1/2/3/4) for all companies in a given workflow, and then to add filters to it (by company, by anomaly category: Warning/Failure).I would like to retrieve the list of rules and create a table from them (entity, period, rule details). Is this possible?Dim objConfirmInstanceInfo As ConfirmInstanceInfo = BRApi.DataQuality.Process.GetConfirmation(si, wfClusterPk, includeStoredResults) allows me to retrieve the name and/or description of the Rule Profiles associated with the wfClusterPk.However, I do not know how to drill down further to loop through all the rules contained within the Rule Profiles.I therefore cannot see how to retrieve `args.ConfirmationRuleArgs.Rule` and thus obtain the details of each rule.Is this possible? The two threads I found on the community forum didn’t get very far: Thank you for any help you can provide.
Hi OS Community,I'm exploring a potential enhancement and was wondering if anyone has experience accessing the user-configured state of a Large Data Pivot Grid through a Business Rule.To clarify, I'm not referring to the component properties/configuration, which can be accessed programmatically. Instead, I'm interested in the information that a user defines within the Large Data Pivot Grid itself, for example:Whether the grid has unsaved changes (similar to a save status or "dirty" state) The fields currently assigned to Filters, Rows, and Columns (by user)Since this information is configured within the UI, I'm trying to understand whether OneStream exposes the saved Large Data Pivot Grid layout (Filters, Rows, Columns, save state, etc.) to Business Rules, Dashboard Extenders, or any other supported API. My goal is to drive a custom Excel export and display warnings when unsaved changes exist. Has anyone implemented something similar or knows whether this metadata is accessible?Thank y
Has anyone used a business rule to create either a sound notification or email notification for tasks you’re waiting to finish running in task activity? When force consolidating, I often find myself working in other applications and constantly having to go back to OS to see if the consolidation has finished running. It would be nice to be able to set a sound notification once its complete or receive a quick email saying your task has completed.
We started using the Auto Prepare and Auto approve reconciliation rule. We now feel some things are getting overlooked and going forward want to change it to only auto prepare. But when I try and change it I get this error message. “The following AutoRec Rules have already been used to Prepare/Approve reconciliations and cannot be modified or deleted: (Zero Balance - Zero Activity)” How can I change this?
Is it possible to avoid the compile error when the workspace dependencies doesn't exist. In our use case all the dependent assemblies (that contain custom config) may not exist. This is expected and we need the rule to ‘fail gracefully’ rather than throw an error. Is it possible to resolve by dynamically adding the dependencies using late binding so the checks are deferred to runtime?
Hi Everyone,I am trying to use one Extender BR method into different confirmation rule, after doing some research did not find anyway. If anyone have any suggestion, please post it.
OS Community,I’ve tried unsuccessfully to find the answer elsewhere. Please help me understand this if you’re able.Scenario: In one of our applications, I know that only business rule A and business rule B have been edited today. One by User A and one by User B. In the Application Reports dashboard, when I run the updated business rules audit report for today’s date (with all other filters left to default values), only the two expected rules are reported. However, in the report rule A has a checkmark in the column titled “Business Rule Updated”, while rule B does not. I happen to know that rule A with a checkmark was edited, saved, and compiled, but I know nothing about the change made to rule B other than “something” was updated.Question: Precisely what is indicated by the presence (or lack of) a checkmark in the “Business Rule Updated” column of the updated business rules audit report? Is it perhaps related to the act of saving and/or compiling the rule which has been updated
does anyone have experience running business rules on save of a cube view via excel? I see an old post referring wcfeventhandler. Is there any more robust way by now?
Hi Folks,In one of my UD2 member , i am trying to apply a specific value of [0] to all base level members of A802 account and a completely different set of values [3000] to all other base level accounts that exist in the A4 account hierarchy. The hierarchy structure is as follows:A4---A5----A501----A502---A8----A801----A802-------A8xxxx------A8xxxx1----A803The issue i face is currently all accounts are coming out with a zero, does anyone know a better way to apply two different type formulas to two different set of base level accounts and allow for natural aggregation of parent values? My logic is as follows: Dim accountDimPk As DimPk = api.Pov.AccountDim.DimPk Dim currentAccountId As Integer = api.Pov.Account.MemberId Dim isParent As Boolean = BRApi.Finance.Members.HasChildren( _ si, _ accountDimPk, _ currentAccountId, _ Nothing)
Hi Folks,I need help updating a UD5 member formula that should impact the base level accounts only. I want the consolidation to aggregate/consolidate parent accounts with the calculated base level values.Currently my logic calculates all accounts including the base and parents and no consolidation/aggregation takes place. Basically i want the calculation to happen like the logic below:For example:For a given UD5 Member i.e. growth the member formula is driving certain calculations for the account hierarchy members. For a parent account 1200, i want the member formula to update values for all its base members using the logic 2*3.For all other accounts beside the account 1200 in the account hierarchy, i want the following logic applied 2+3 at the base level. After these two set of calculations at base level accounts, i want natural OS aggregation to calculate the rest of the accounts in relation to ud5 member where the logic is being applied.Does anyone know how to go about this? Environment: OneStream Workforce Planning module, PV9.0.0 SV3.0.0.A calculated account in an employee-driven Workforce Planning register throws a divide-by-zero error during Calculate. The formula divides a salaried employee's compensation by a Cube Driver representing their expected monthly hours. For any given employee, that driver correctly returns their real hours value starting the month they are hired, but for any period before their hire date, it returns a literal 0 rather than null or blank. Dividing by that 0 is what triggers the error.Simplified version of the formula (anonymized):IIF(EmployeeGroup="Group_A", IIF(EmployeeType="Hourly", Hours*HourlyRate, Hours*(A#BaseSalary/(IsNull(StandardMonthlyHours,1))), 0 ))What we have tried, and how each attempt failed:IsNull(StandardMonthlyHours, 1). No effect: the driver is not returning null, it is returning an actual 0, so IsNull's substitution logic never triggers. IIF(StandardMonthlyHours=0, 1, StandardMonthlyHours). No
I'm trying to execute a calc after an input data in a CV, when the user click in the OS default save button (giving the flexibility to use a DB, CV or Excel addin with the same CV) Is possible?
Does anyone have a piece of code to clear data on the origin Forms member for just a few accounts? The api.data.clearcalculateddata is not possible (data is not calculated) and api.data.setdatacell doesn't work. Thanks.
Is it possible to run a Finance Custom Calculate Business rule using the Assemblies Service Factory “FinanceCustomCalculate” service. I would like to have a button on a Planning dashboard run a data Management sequence that calls a DM step that runs Custom Calulate Business rule that is stored in a Workspace Assemblies. This is for a v9.0 environment.
What is the difference between execute retransform and start retransform? Thank you!
Hi,I’m writing a custom calculate business rule for an Account which is planned like this - Look at the same intersections 12 months prior and see if there is data. If there is, use that value to set the value for current time period. If there is no data in that intersection 12 months ago, look for a value 24 months ago.I need to do this for just 1 account but different UD1 and UD2 intersections.I tried to use GetDataBufferUsingFormula and thought of looping through all intersections but DataBuffers give only those intersections where there is data. How should I go about this?
I cannot find any literature on this - I have a custom calculate rule, how to I call it from a DM step? This is what I have in DM step, but I keep getting the below error: Below are some additional info on my set up: Thank you.
Hello,I have an XFBR rule written in an assembly file in a dashboard maintenance unit that is under the default workspace, but not in the default maintenance unit. When I try to call it using XFBR(workspace.Default.AssemblyName.BusinessRule, FunctionName,) I get an error. If I build the same rule in a XFBR string rule under Business Rules it runs fine when called by XFBR(RuleName, FunctionName,). Furthermore, I am not experiencing this issue for any XFBR dashboard string rule housed in an assembly in any other workspace. Is there a different syntax that is needed to call dashboard string rules that are in an assembly in default? As a note, the rule does not need any input parameters. Thanks,
I have an accountant that mistakenly sent out a few packets to our JV partners. Is it possible to recall these emails?
HiI have data adapter that calls BR code with FdxExecuteCubeViewTimePivot, which calls a CubeView. My question is how do I pass the variable (Time dimension) from data adapter to CubeView?I am using FDX to improve the performance. Thanks in advance,PM
Hi,Is there any way to retrieve the user and timestamp associated with a data cell via a Business Rule?I'm building a Business Rule to generate a file from cube data. To do this, I'm using DataBuffers, but the cell audit information is not available in the DataBuffer cells. Given the cell POV, is there any way to retrieve the audit information (user and timestamp) for that cell? Thanks.
We are on OneStream 8.5 using the People Planning Solution Exchange module. We have a Dashboard String Function (GetRegisterFilter) that returns a SQL WHERE clause for XFW_PLP_Register.The register contains an Entity column with valid OneStream Entity member names.Returning "[Entity] = 'USA'" successfully filters the register. We would like to replace that with the user's effective OneStream Entity security (including inherited access through parent entities such as EMEA).What BRApi function in 8.5 returns the list of Entity members a user can read, or checks whether a user has access to a specific Entity member?
Hi Team, I need your support regarding an issue I am facing with the dashboard-driven data clearing logic. Requirement:When specific Dimension/Members are selected in the dashboard, the attached code is expected to execute in Preview and Clear modes to remove the corresponding data. Issue Observed: The code runs successfully during execution. I can see the log message indicating that the data is “cleared.” However, the actual data is not getting cleared from the system. This suggests that while the process is triggering correctly, the clearing operation is not impacting the underlying data as expected. Could you please review and provide your suggestions on what might be causing this issue or any potential gaps in the approach? Let me know if you need additional details or logs from my end. Thanks in advance for your help. api.Data.SetDataCell(memberScript, amount, isNoData, isDurableCalculatedData) Imports System Imports System.Collections.Generic
Hi there,I'm working on a client using the version 8.5.2 and I'm trying to use the Dynamic Dashboards functionallity to modify a property from a SQL Editor Component. The purpose of this logic is to set a dashboard in "ReadOnly" mode when the parameter is set, and in this case, the read only mode I want to achieve is by setting "ShowDataManipulationButtons = False".The BR logic used is the following:If Component.DashboardComponentType = DashboardComponentType.SqlTableEditor ThenDim sqlDefinition = XFSqlTableEditorDefinition.ReadXmlString(si,Component.XmlData)sqlDefinition.ShowDataManipulationButtons = FalseComponent.XmlData = sqlDefinition.WriteXmlString(si)End If I have checked that after this point the component XmlData has changed, however, despite returning the modified component, the changes as not being displayed in the dashboard. If instead of modifying an SqlEditor component, I change any property on a Button component, the changes are being displayed correctly. Is this
