Hi Team,We're seeing an issue where user-entered annotations are cleared during the workflow load process, while the associated data is preserved.SetupOur import process loads data and annotations for one set of accounts/sub-accounts. A separate set of accounts/sub-accounts is entered manually by users through Forms, CubeViews, or QuickViews. Both sets use the same Entity, Scenario, Time, Account, Flow, and UD1–UD8 dimensions, except that UD1 differs (SSSS1 vs. SSSS2), and the Origin member differs (Import vs. Forms).Sample intersectionsImport:E#EEEE:S#FW:T#2027M12:C#Local:V#Annotation:A#AAAAA:F#PL_Load:I#0000:O#Import:U1#SSSS1:U2#DDD:U3#LID_001:U4#Form_Input:U5#None:U6#None:U7#None:U8#NoneForms:E#EEEE:S#FW:T#2027M12:C#Local:V#Annotation:A#AAAAA:F#PL_Load:I#0000:O#Forms:U1#SSSS2:U2#DDD:U3#LID_001:U4#Form_Input:U5#None:U6#None:U7#None:U8#NoneTimelineSep 28: Ran Import, Validate, and Load. Hello All,I found two very instructive discussion on the forum:Extender: Export Metadata via Extender - OneStream Community (onestreamsoftware.com)Solved: Automatic back up of security - OneStream Community (onestreamsoftware.com)But still, if I export all dimensions in one file, the file is very heavy and hard to use. Can anyone tell me how can I make it with business rule?KeithBerry kudos for great solution you provided in another topicKind regardsJarek
The client requirement is to update the workflow profile description using a rule by getting the workflow profile Name. Check whether that name exists in the entity structure; if it does, take the entity description and update the workflow profile description so that they match. I do not seem to find a Workflow Description column in the database. Any ideas on how to solve this?
Hi OneStream Community,I’m relatively new to fixed-width data sources and have a couple of questions. The client has three fixed-width files that will be used as Transaction Matching data sources. Is there a way to bypass all headers, footers, blank rows, and other non-transaction rows using a single bypass rule or expression, instead of creating multiple individual bypass rules? What is the recommended way to import credit amounts as negative values? This is a one-sided match. The Amount field is displaying correctly as an absolute value of either the debit or credit amount, and the Debit field is also displaying correctly. However, the Credit field in the data set is always showing 0.Any guidance on the fixed-width field configuration or where the credit sign logic should be applied would be greatly appreciated.Thank you!
How do I get a text attribute from the import profile vs getting a text attribute from the parent of that import?
Hi, I’m trying to run a derivative rule source - final at time dimension so that I can copy the loaded amount across 12 month. In the source I have a Period column with the year. My idea is to bypass the year in one to one mapping and create 12 months using the derivative rule. Something like this The issue I’m facing is that the derivative is duplicating the rows but not changing the time, however I test for other dimensions and it’s working.Has the time dimension any restriction on derivative rules? Thanks
Is there a way to drill back to Workday report directly from Onestream? I am not looking to open source data with in OneStream, but force the user to login to Workday URL and the report should open with the drill back parameters? Thanks in Advance, MP
We are using a custom built dashboard to import multiple CSV files to several Import workflows at the same time. Currently the user has to select import separately for each file as the prompt window does not support multi-select. Then all imported files can be Validated and Loaded. The dashboard looks currently like this: Our business thinks this would impact our short closing times severely as users have to do this multiple times after corrections are made and for multiple companies. Rough estimate is about 50 users impacted each closing.Calling a different Windows API functionality should not be a huge change and this could potentially save us a lot of headaches. At the moment we cannot use direct connection to our ERP systems as they are too varied across the companies, so a standardized CSVs are our only option.
Hello, I am trying to set up the Cube Data Manager solution from Open Place in my working production application. Currently it is all loaded up, but I need a little help figuring out how to add the environment to it containing the applications that I want to work with. Please see pictured below. Thank you, Jeremy Morgan
We are implementing Transaction Matching with Workflow Channel Import Stage Only. The data is being transformed correctly, but the amount pushed to the solution is the RawAmount instead of the ConvertedAmount. We have also tried Import, Validate (Stage Only), but same result. Is there a property we may be overlooking to have the Workflow Profile push the ConvertedAmount to the solution?
Hi,Does anyone know where the StatusValue shown in the WorkflowStatus method is actually stored?I'm trying to locate the source of the workflow status data. I'd expect there to be a table in the Application tables that contains this column. Does anyone know which one it is?
I am getting several errors when setting up a New Task in the Data Import Schedule Manager. We are on OS version 9.01.17403, and I have installed the latest version of DSM, which is 8.4.0_SV100. I suspect this may be a version compatibility issue, so I am curious if anyone has been able to get this solution to work in a 9.01 application. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the solution, which didn’t resolve the issues.Below are the two errors I am seeing:When choosing Global Scenario from the Scenario(s) drop down list, I get an immediate error “Error processing member. The item was not found. Member, 11111111.” The details state: Unable to execute Business Rule ‘DSM_Paramhelper’ where it appears to be trying to call the Global Scenario by OneStream.Client.Api.DashboardsAjaxServiceReference.DashboardsAjaxServiceClient.GetParameterDisplayInfosUsingDashboardNameCompressed(SessionInfo si, LoadDashboardInfo loadDashboardInfo, Boolean isForDashboardUIWithInteractiveComponents, D
Hello All,We have a workday connected to OS through REST API for data loads. Is it possible to setup a Connector rule for Drill Back using REST API? (I am only seeing examples of SQL and see if an example exists some where)Thank you,MP
Hi, I am facing an issue with a dashboard extender rule, in the bit of code that Completes or Revert the workflow and is called by the Complete and Revert buttons of the dashboard. For example, this is the Revert function: Public Function WorkflowRevert(ByVal si As SessionInfo, ByVal globals As BRGlobals, ByVal wfClusterPK As WorkflowUnitClusterPk) As XFSelectionChangedTaskResult Try Dim selectionChangedTaskResult As New XFSelectionChangedTaskResult() 'Check the Workflow status of the parent (We can't calculate plan if the parent is certified) Dim wfRegParent As WorkflowProfileInfo = BRApi.Workflow.Metadata.GetParent(si, wfClusterPK) Dim wfRegParentPk As New WorkflowUnitClusterPk(wfRegParent.ProfileKey, wfClusterPK.ScenarioKey, wfClusterPK.TimeKey) Dim wfRegParentStatus As WorkflowInfo = BRApi.Workflow.Status.GetWorkflowStatus(si, wfRegParentPk, False) If Not wfRegParentStatus.AllTasksCompleted Then 'PROCESS INDIVIDUAL SOLUTION WORKFLOWS '---------------
The OneStream precision limit is set to DECIMAL(28, 9) for numbers getting loaded to database, This is a total of 28 characters with 9 of them decimal places. We have larger numbers that need to be loaded to the database. The factoring approach suggested by the OneStream support team does not work for us.As per the below comments by the support team in Case CSRC0147989, can an enhancement be made to allow larger numbers to be stored in database?“While SQL Server can support up to 38 digits, implementing this would require changes to the product thus making it an enhancement request. The only fix is to update all the numeric columns in the DB to accept a larger precision. We recommend that you log an enhancement request in IdeaStream so product engineering can consider it.”
I am implementing a BR that pulls a file from FTP. The file is encrypted so I need to decrypt it using a third party library. In order to decrypt it, I need to pass in a physical path to the PGP key provided. I uploaded the key to the Public folder share for now but cannot seem to find a way to get the actual physical file. Does anyone know if uploading a file to the share folder results in an actual file being created on the server or is it just stored as a BLOB in the database?
Hi everyone,We are uploading portions of our budgets in Excel templates across multiple years. The data is imported across all the years in one shot, but the validate and load steps need to be run year by year if imported through the workflows we have set up. Does anyone know if there is a way to execute the validate and load steps across multiple years through a rule?I know we can use the batch harvest folders, but we're hoping to keep the workflow steps as close to those used in other processes as possible. Thanks, James
Hi all,I'm experiencing an issue with a budget scenario that previously allowed annual data entry. In the prior budget year (2026), I could enter amounts at the year level and OneStream would automatically spread the values across months or quarters as configured. After rolling the budget forward to the next year, this functionality no longer works. I am now forced to enter data at the monthly level. If T#|WFTime| is used, the cells turn green, and no input is allowed.I've compared the Scenario dimension settings between the working and non-working scenarios, and they appear identical:Tracking Frequency: Range WF Time: 2027 Start Time: 2027M1 End Time: 2030M12 Input Frequency: Monthly (default), then Quarterly in subsequent yearsInitially, I thought the issue was related to the Input Frequency being set to Monthly. However, the prior budget scenario that worked correctly had the same setup, yet still allowed yearly input with automatic spreading by month or quarter.Has anyone encountere
I am getting the error “Object reference not set to an instance of an object.” with the code below in a connector business rule. I feel like I’ve used this code a ton but never had this issue before. Anyone have any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong this time?WorkflowUnitPk wfPk = api.WorkflowUnitPk;string wfTime = TimeDimHelper.GetNameFromId(wfPk.TimeKey);TimeMemberSubComponents objTimeCmpnts = BRApi.Finance.Time.GetSubComponentsFromName(si, wfTime);int wfFiscalYr = objTimeCmpnts.Year;int wfFiscalPer = objTimeCmpnts.Month; Thanks,Scott
Hi Team,I am facing an issue with Certify. if you notice in the first screen shot Fixed Asset function(workflow) is already certified. but when i input data at any other input form. after saving the form, then will click on Complete form. when we clicked on Complete Form system was Uncertified the Fixed Asset workflow Example:- Costing function (Workflow) for Non_Baan_Costing input form i have entered data and then clicked on Complete Form. Fixed asset got uncertified. Can you please check and advise on this issue
I'm being asked to schedule an extract of the OneStream metadata. I'm under the impression that this cannot be done using the Task Scheduler since an extract of metadata is not an option in Data Management. Is this an accurate statement? If this can be schedule, how so? Thanks!
Hi Community, Does anyone have guidance on the parameterization of date based on the workflow that is selected. It seems that below works for only upto Sep. Wondering if there is any other parameter I can leverage off to get two digit period code. Thanks,Thomas
Hi everyone,I’m observing an inconsistent behavior during a standard OneStream Import (Bulk Load) and would like to check if anyone has faced something similar. We just updated to 9.3 Using standard Import (no custom Business Rules) Workflow is annual Loading multiple months (e.g., 2026M8 and 2026M9) in a single execution All dimensions are identical except Time and UD8 If I load the data below, only the -430K value is not loaded into the cube for some reason,-150k and 1mil are fine. However, if I run the same load a second time, the value is loaded correctly. 4 valid rows but only 3 loaded to the cube.If I remove the other two rows and do this, the data is loaded correctly on the first attempt. 2 valid rows and all loaded to the cube.If i do this, delete the S36 for M9, M8 shows correclty as well, at the moment i include M9 with S36 if fail again. In this design, weekly granularity is implemented using a User Defined dimension (UD8), meaning that the same week member (e.g., S36) can v
What I think might be a useful setup option would be to have the ability to right-click any existing Workflow Profile and have OneStream build a Workflow Template from that Workflow.Often we’ll build out one Workflow and test it the way we want it to work, which is more difficult to do with the current Template process. Being able to “go the other way” and create a Workflow Profile that we like and turn it into a Template would save a lot of time.
Hi all, I am working on the Extensibility Rule to automate the Import/Validate/Load/etc. steps of a workflow, so that when the rule is called from a data management step it executes all workflow steps for a given workflow. The first step of the workflow is a Workspace containing a dashboard, and the second is an Import step (we are using a direct connection). The rule works generally fine, but the Import step randomly throws the following error:"Cannot execute step because the prior workflow step is not completed...Source code: line 0, method ParseAndTransform"This happens maybe less than 10% of the times, but it is annoying because I cannot understand the reason for it, since the Workspace step which precedes the Import step should always be completed since it is completed by the Extensibility rule itself. These is an extract from the rule of how I complete and immediately after process the Import:Dim CompleteWorkspaceWFInfo As WorkflowInfo = BRApi.Workflow.Status.SetWorkflowStatus(si, w
