Finance BR GetDataCell returns value, but report loses formatting on that column.

I have a column in my cube view with cell values retrieved using a custom (GetDataCell(BR#[...])) call. The value is returned just fine, but the cells in that column are losing formatting that should come from the row format.

If I use an XFBR dashboard data string function to return the GetDataCell call as text, it also works and the formatting is retained.

If anybody has a suggestion as to why using the Finance rule to return a single value is replacing the formatting, that would be appreciated as that is my preferred approach.

Thanks!

I was wrong. It was not a bug, but rather what my old group called a PICNIC (Problem in Chair, Not in Computer). Everything was working as it should have.

After doing more troubleshooting, I have found that I can apply basic formatting. The formatting I’m losing is inside an IF condition and depends on the “RowName” for the current row where a cell is being returned. Apparently, the RowName variable is no longer set when the formatting for these cells is applied.

Hi @rhozee

I would recommend logging this with Support and let them know OS version you are on, steps to reproduce,  etc

Thanks

@sameburn

Thank you. I’m hoping to do that tomorrow - I’m kind of new to One Stream, so I’m going to run it by a couple of other people in my group to see if they are already aware of it and/or a workaround, but I believe the end result will be logging it for support.

Thanks for responding,

Rose

No bug - all was working as it should have.

@sameburn , thanks for weighing in!
