Reporting

Hi All,   I am wondering if there is a way to display a text value in a cube view cell directly from a cubeview member filter?  In other words, in the same way that you can use a member filter with GetDataCell to force a number to be displayed (ie. A#Net_income:GetDataCell(100) will display 100), can you do something similar for text values like A#Net_Income:GetDataCell(Hello) to display Hello in the cell?  It doesn't work for me and I have also tried using A#Net_Income:V#Annotation:GetDataCell(Hello) and that doesn't work either.   Any thoughts?   Thx, Mike

Hi ! I came accross the "State Indicator" dashboard component, but I can't seem to find any information about how it's used and how to configure it, either in the online help and on the community. Happy Labor Day for USA. Happy gas shortages, high electric bills and soon coming freezing winters for many of us around the world.I renamed my Cubeview from CV1  to CV2_deleteVersion08302022. Why did my workflows  automatically change its configuration to use new name CV2_deleteVersion08302022? Should it not remain as CV1 ?  I'll try to give a screen shot

Hello,   I have a Cube View that prompts the user to select the month for the report when it is run.It would be great if it could select the current year's first month by default. I have tried some different things in the Default Value such as WFYear, T#WFyear, |T#WFyear| and others but cannot get the default I need. Does anyone know what the syntax that I am looking for is? Hello Team I created a Nested member expansion under a cube view. It works fine with grouping of the nested dimensions as in picture#1.  But by default it always have the list grouped. Is there an option to have them all ungrouped by default (pic#2)? Thanks!!

Hello,   I have this Cube View that I created in which I have to move the half year (H1) column to be in between Q2 and Q3 in order to match the formatting of the report that I was given as the model. I have attempted to make some changes to accomplish this but I have not been able to do so. I am displaying the quarters as Time:T#WFYear.Quarters       How can I accomplish this formatting goal? Furthermore what is the synthax that would allow me to display a single quarter of my choosing?    Thank you in advance for your time and cooperation!

Hi All, Does anyone know of nice reporting on the metadata and the properties of each member?  Basically, I am looking for something like the Dimension Library Grid View to be displayed in a user-friendly report.  Before we start building something I wanted to make sure someone doesn't have an easy solution for this.  Would want something that users could easily access perhaps via Cubeview or Dashboard content. An example would be a report that shows all of the accounts with their metadata properties (ie. description, AllowInput, AcctType, Text1-8, etc.).  I checked the Application Reports (RPTA) that is in MarketPlace but it doesn't have anything.   Thx, Mike

Hello,   I have this cube view that I made, in which I am having issues in the secon to last column. I am trying to see what the difference between each quarter is between the forecast and budget scenarios.When I run my cube view, I get a single difference between Q1 forecast and Q1budget only, and Q2 trough Q4 are nowhere to be found. I was expecting that what I typed would give me the difference between each quarter, not just the first.       Can you share what your thoughts on what I am doing wrong please?Your time and input is appreciated in advance!

Hi,I need to build a cube view where I want to have Accounts base as well as U1 Base. Something like this: The problem is when I am running this - Onestream crashes. Supression settings are on: Is this because of too many intersections to look at?Account Dimension has approximately 6000 base members and U1 has 1200.Can anyone suggest a way on how to build this?Thanks.  

Hello, Is there a way to make cells display numerical data in the millions of dollars amount? As an example 1,500,000 would be displayed as 1.5 I have looked around but did not find much information on the NumberFormat paramater so it is kind of confusing in terms of synthax. I have a cube view where some of the mathematical operations in the last two columns on the right ( Difference and Percent Difference) are not working. The formula that I have in these last columns is as follows:GetDataCell(BWDiff(CVC(OP) ,CVC(Actual))):Name(Difference) GetDataCell((CVC(Difference) / CVC(OP)*100)):Name(Percent Difference)   The yellow highlighted cells in the right hand columns are the ones where the math is not working and they are not populating with results.   Below is the structure of the cube view I have:   I have noticed that the cells on the right columns where the math is not working and not populating are the ones where the corresponding row has accounts that are in the form of a sum of two or more accounts, as an example for my Row1 I have: GetDataCell("A#60100+A#60900"):Name(Salaries & Benefits)   It is apparent that the issue in the cells that are not populating is due to the accounts in those rows being the sum of two or more acco

This is a basic question related to cubeviews. When I open cubeview_1, it closes cubeview_2.  When I open cubeview_2, it closes cubeview_1. Is there a way to keep both my cubeviews open in the desktop?  This seems like a silly U/I constraint to restrict users from working with more than one cubeview at a time.  We are using Desktop v.6.5.0.12623. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, David PS. I have lots of peeves about the U/I but this is a major one.  Others include No standard ribbons, like every other windows app Navigation tabs that are shown across the BOTTOM of the Window!?  Mousing around the top, left, and bottom of my screen is just bad. Very low support for keyboard shortcuts. (even basic things like Ctrl+N, Ctrl+S, etc) Virtually no right click (context) menus etc.  None of these are rocket science, and hopefully I'm not the only one who is complaining...

We'd like to calculate CAGR in cube views, is there a formula to use in the cube views? If there are formulas that only work for dimension members and business rules I'm also happy to hear, then link to the cube views. I already tried "POWER(x,y)" and "x^(1/y)" and they don't work. is it possible to add a blank row in the account field?  i found that you can use A#None and it will make the numbers blank. is there something else you could use to make the numbers blank and make it say something besides None or something else? 

I'm working on a cube view that displays reporting data in a quarterly trend. The end user would select which quarter they want displayed and the CV would display that quarter along with the 4 previous quarters.  Ex. User selects 2022Q1 and then CV displays the following columns 2021Q1, 2021Q2, 2021Q3, 2021Q4, 2022Q1. Data would be displayed quarterly in each column. Any suggestions on how to write columns based on this criteria? Thanks.

Is there a way of setting the selected cell in a cube view when this is refreshed. As far as I can see this defaults to the top left data cell. It would be useful if this could be set using a business rule or a parameter.

Is it possible to pull up a linked dashboard by using a button component instead of having to right click on a cell.  I want the user to be able to click on a cell in a cube view, then click a button that pulls up another cube view showing the detail.  I am using two bound parameters for account and department within the dashboard.    

This seems very standard, so I have to be missing something.  I have the row filter on a Cubeview "A#6020.TreeDescendantsInclusiveR".  6020 is the total line for all the single level descendants.  How do I get only the last descendant to be underlined in the report before the Total line of 6020?

Hi, Is being able to Right click and choose Consolidate in a cube view an admin only function? We have a report where "Can Consolidate" is set to True but users are not able to consolidate from the cube view...they can from a data mgt job. Thanks, Haaris
