Workflow and Data Integration

Originally posted by Diane Rochford I have 2 forms in workflow profile. 1- "usd overrides" has TBAccount channel assigned and the 2nd form, BS Flux has WF Channel "flux" assigned.  The problem is when the USD overrides form is locked the comments on the Flux BS form are now locked.  How do I get around this?

Originally posted by Craig Masters8/24/2018 I have a Data Source "issue"... I have 5 Tab Delimited files using the same Data Source. The Tab files only have the Entity designation on the first row in the 4th column number. No other dim is using the 4th column number. How do I tell OS to find the Entity code on the first line in the 4th column number?

How can we proceed to capture the Description name of row 8 in our Entity Data Source?

Originally posted by George Waddell11/1/2018 Hi, just want to confirm how the data copy works in Data Management...assuming all intersections from the Source are copied over to the Target? There is no capability to copy all data from source at a specific UD member to another UD member thru the Copy interface? Suppose a Business rule would be required instead?

Originally posted by Patrick Kiernan4/22/2019 How can I combine two source fields to generate one destination, such as UD2? I have a source number field, and where that doesn't exist the source description is to be used. For instance I have Supplier Number and that is what I am using as my UD2 Filed and then the description as an Attribute, but how can I use that Attribute to map if there is no supplier number? Originally posted by Jon Golembiewski11/14/2019 I am trying to write a derivative rule with some logic in a complex expression. It seems the api.parser.DelimitedParsedValues function does not work within Derivative rules? I always get back 'Index Out of Range' error. Any idea how to get it working or what function I might be able to use to replace it? I am ultimately trying to pull in the amount for a particular column in my file.

Originally posted by Matt Grundey6/13/2018 Hello, question on data sources. I have a fixed width file format but I have a document number that the client wants to import as an attribute but it doesn't repeat on all rows. The document number appears on line 1 and then all rows under it use that same document number until a new document number is displayed. Has anyone come across this? Any suggestions on how I can handle it?

Originally posted by Eric Osmanski6/15/2018 Has anyone done mappings based on parents? For example, I have a source field in the GL 100-900 that maps * to * with UD1. I want to map UD2 based on the PARENT the source field is in in OneStream. So, if the Source Field is under Project X, then map to MemberA. If Source Field is under Project Y, then map to Member B.

Originally posted by Sam Richards7/9/2019 I know in OS we have the DM clear that will clear a whole DU by origin or we can write a Clear rule with the is no data set to true but I was wondering if anybody has came up with anything else or if there is anything I am missing. A use case would be that you seed the current forecast with the prior forecast as a durable calc data so you need to clear say 20 accounts for a given period (Periodic Scenario) across a few DIDs so it would take some time in a form (plus you still have data in the import and forms origin). In Hyperion they would use the #missing s to clear out the data from what I am being told. I am thinking about going down the path of allowing a zero load to clear the data then running a rule overnight to clear out all the zeros to clean back up the database.

Originally posted by Jon Golembiewski3/11/2020 Got a data source puzzler - I have a file with two amount columns that I need each amount to go to different flow members. The first amount will always be Euros but the second amount needs to go to Flow Members stored in another column. Screenshot of the file is below. I can't figure out how to pull this off. First I tried a matrix data source. It correctly creates rows for both amount but always uses the Column header as the Flow. I tried to use a parser rule to point it to the other column but it just picks up the column header of the other column and not the row values. I am currently trying to use a derivative rule but keep hitting dead ends. I think I've maxed out my data integration expertise so wondering if anyone has done this before or has any ideas?

Is there a way to pass a parameter in a DM job?Alternative is to have the dashboard button call a custom calc BR that runs the data copy, but I don’t know if I’m able to do that bc I keep getting an “invalid destination data unit in script” error. I don’t know if I can run a scenario data copy from a custom calc.

Originally posted by Cosimo Palmisano4/26/2019 Matrix load using a Connector DataSourceI'm trying to setup a data source for matrix loading using a connector data source / query which returns 12 columns of data (M1 to M12). I've setup the data source to include 12 Time source dimensions with data type being Matrix DataKey Text. The source field for each time source dimension are fields P01 to P12 as shown in screenshot below. Has anyone tried this? For the matrix field, how do I determine which time member the field is supposed to represent? Each time column is named P01 to P12 so would the Matrix Header Value Line be 0?

Originally posted by Jon Golembiewski7/19/2018 Has anyone seeded or copied data from one scenario to another where dimensions were extended in one of the scenarios? For example, Actuals accounts are extended from Forecast accounts i.e. Actual Accounts are at a detailed level and Forecast accounts are a summary level. So then in the copy rule you are copying a parent account into a base account.

Originally posted by Sam Richards3/29/2018 Has anyone leveraged the transformation process on an import to do a weighted average? I am thinking this is possible leveraging the derivative mappings but I wanted to confirm. For example if I have 5 loans that have an outstanding balance of different amounts and all have different rates. In the transformation process these then loans are going to have a many to one mapping all going to one market. What I would load into the cube for the market would be an weighted average based off of the loan balance.
