Hello Experts, We have a few users that are getting below error while trying to close Excel windows after OneStream upgrade. Error text "Microsoft excel is waiting for another application to complete an OLE action" Can someone share any insights or guidance on resolution here?   Regards,ND

There is an option to change cultures in cube views; is there any way to utilize cultures within parameters? We use culture as an shortened description alias and would like combo boxes that are linked to parameters to use the different culture.

I am trying to move a Narrative Report book from one environment to another and am struggling to do so without having to re-build it. Is there anyone on this Community that has managed to do so successfully? Would truly appreciate the steps you followed to get this done successfully.

Good evening, is it possible to add a dashboard or Bi Viewer component within a Narrative Reporting document? In the attached image, it does not appear among the options.Regards 

All, Does anyone out there have users with massive (thousands of rows and dozens of columns) XFGetCell() workbooks that are seeing issues with the "Save Offline Copy" feature?  (and yes, I know.. they should not be creating these massive workbooks in the first place - that's not what XF() is meant to do) Here are the symptoms we're having: Regardless of what the seconds setting is (and I'm not even sure this setting applies to anything other than CV connections or quick views) and for some of these users, it's set to the max allowable, the 'save offline copy' often just spins and spins and never completes or eventually the user just has to 'kill' Excel and try again.  Happens at different times so no idea what server activity might be going on at the same time. Save Offline Copy appears to finish but the saved file now contains "#REFRESH" rather than the values  Unable to keep Formatting (this has to be set to False) - loses things like superscript or subscript fonts.I

Have a question regarding Cube view formatting. The client has a column for comments where large commentaries are written point wise which currently are seen as one line. They want to view the same like excel where comments are seen point wise one below another. How can the same be done. Also while exporting the report in excel the wrap text option in the Column cell format under excel only wraps the entire cell but it does not show the comment point wise one below another

We are looking to wrap text both at the header and also within an annotated cell in a cube view.  WE can't find a way to wrap text but this would be nice where our uses push explanations to OS through a  cube view. 

Hi, is there a way to set up a cube view filter based on column data? For example, while reviewing the data, user would like to filter by employees that started before 2020 or filter by employees that were terminated in 2021.   

I'm new to WS assembly - trying to get a simple example of setting up an xfbr and use it in a cubeview but not successful. Here's what I did - what did I do wrong?1. Set up XFBR String Service:2. Then set up factory: 3. Then added to my maintenance units & workspace4. Added to cv:=> I get this error. Not sure why it is looking for the service factory in default.   I followed the design guide, tried all the following syntax, none have worked:XFBR(Workspace.Reporting.myAssembly.Time, SayHello)XFBR(Workspace.Current.myAssembly.Time, SayHello) Thank you. 

Hello,We are trying to use row and column templates in a Cube View but are using parameters to populate the names of those row and column template cube views.  We get the below error and are curious what else could be issue as we have checked values of parameters and they are pulling in values expected (names of templates).Thanks!

Hi There, I am trying to create a book with a loop on our UD4 (project). I have it working but I want to add an IF statement to filter out tabs that contain no data. Referencing a previous post, I tried adding an IF statement to filter out an account (A#TotSGA in our case). This is the statement I am using, but it doesn't seem to work. Hi all,We upgraded one of our OS instances to 9.0.0After a first look, it seems BI Viewer does not work anymore from Desktop app, but charts are showing from Modern Browser interface, any idea? Can't find a clue on Know Issues.On Desktop app, only the layout shows, no content:Same Dashboard from Modern Experience shows fine (I blurred data here)Any advice?

Hi All, We have a requirement to get journal report for all entities irrespective of which workflow was used to post the journals Example - There are different BU related workflow ( example BU M workflow )which has individual BU related entities assigned and there is another work flow - Central Group Adjustments which does not have any entity assignment. Users from BU M workflows would like to see all the journals posted via Central Group Adjustments which are related to BU M entities. We have different securities for each BU workflows and Central Group Adjustments as well. Basically all BU users should not have access to Central Group Adjustments workflow , but they would like see / view all the journal posted for respective workflow assigned entities.  We can always have an option to give read only access to Central Group Adjustments , but just wanted to check if there is any report which shows all the journals posted from another workflows as well ( assuming

Just checking to see if anyone else has been experiencing the following issue with Version 8.We are currently testing the upgrade from 7.x to version 8 and have run into a huge formatting issue with our books that are produced to Excel and sent out to management via postal service. The source cube views for a batch use the same column template. We have Excel column width formatting set up for each of the columns (but consistently on each column). When the cube views are run and exported to Excel, the column width is not being recognized in most of the columns. I have tried direct formatting, I have tried with a literal parameter and getting the same results no matter what.  I don't see where I can attach the workbook itself but am attaching a screen capture sample.  In this case text wrap is set to False and column widths are set to 100.  Note the results.  Oddly, in like the first book, some of the sheets ARE recognizing the column width. Hi all,What is the best way to export and import a dashboard into a new application?Do I need to select all its components every time, even if some already exist in the destination?I’ve noticed that if you select only the dashboard or the embedded version, the components don’t appear in the XML file.Thanks in advance!

Hi,  I'm trying a landing page dashboard where I can put buttons that go to various locations, both inside OneStream and outside OneStream.  Some of these links will be to files in the box or SharePoint, and some will be to other Tableau dashboards.   I'm struggling to figure out how to create the Navigation Argument so i can select it with my button component.  Where do I go to build one?  Is there a blog post or article on this?

Hi. I'm looking at a way to find all cube views used in book definitions. I was thinking of exporting all xlBook files all at a time via Load/Extract but I cannot find how to do it. Is it possible? Or would there be another way of getting that information? Thanks!

I'm having trouble with a dashboard I'm building. I want to display either an IS or a BS on a single dashboard frame based on user's selection. I've created a list parameter with the options "Income Statement" and "Balance Sheet". However, no matter which option I select, the dashboard only displays the IS. I suspect I'm missing a step to properly link parameter selection to switch between the two reports. I don't have much experience with multi report dashboards up to now, I've only worked on single report dashboards. Could someone help point out what I am doing wrong or guide me on how to make the report dynamically switch based on the parameter. Thanks.

Hello ...  We are trying to output the formula for Accounts of type DynamicCalc in a cube using an U8 member named U8#AccountFormula. In this member we have defined the following: Return api.Account.Formula(api.Pov.Account.MemberId,API.Pov.Scenario.MemberID,Api.Pov.Time.MemberId) The code above only seems to work for all Accounts except type DynamicCalc Is there another function we should be leveraging? Hello, We are currently creating a series of dashboards at my team and have primarily used Chart (Advanced) components as these fit our needs the most closely. However, one limitation we have come across is that sometimes it's more fitting to have the Point Label Format in thousands and sometimes in millions. Is there a way to make the component decide which format to use automatically? I suspect that it might be possible considering you can do the following to handle negative values and hide zeros: {V:0,,M;(0,,M);''} I was thinking one might be able to do something similar for different magnitude values.
