Is there a best practice to get the report headers to be a consistent size regardless of the Rows and Columns in the report? We have the Standard Reports under Application Properties setup to drive consistency, however it appears the columns/rows formatting of a particular report is driving the size of the report header. In the example image, we have identical report headers with different column sets. The top report has more columns which is resulting in a smaller report header. It seems that should not be impacted by anything within the actual body of the report. Second report formatting question: Is this functionality available? The answer says it was expected back in 2020, but I can't seem to find where this feature would be. Hi, I have two question in one:1. I'm trying to add a variance column in a Pivot in BI Viewer for amounts that are split by 2 scenario's, actuals and budget. What is the most practical way to do this? I thought I would add a variance in my cube view used in the cube view md adapter but this is not picked up by BI Viewer.2. Can I sort this variance column by the amount value?
I have created a cube view that I am having issues with some of the rows not totaling correctly. The cube view is designed to display an income statement. Some background on the cube view. It has 2 columns. 1 column has the member filter set as "T#|!ML_Year!|.TreeDescendantsR:U8#DerivedData:Name(|MFTimeDesc|)" so that each month and quarter can be displayed for the year chosen. The 2nd column displays the YTD amount for the year chosen and is written as "T#|!ML_Year!|:U8#None." The issue I am having is that I have 1-3 rows that are not adding correctly for each quarter. As an example, Month 1 has $500, Month 2 has $500, Month 3 has $500.00 and the total for Q1 is being displayed as $1,000 instead of $1,500. I am only experiencing this issue when I use a different scenario other than actual. I have run a consolidation on each scenario and still experiencing this issue. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Dear Community, We're trying to change our hierarchy structure for the new year. That means creating new rollups (D22_xyz), and inserting members within those structure. It's the exact replica, but we're just copying the hierarchy from D21 and changing it to D22. However, I'm curious if their a BR to compare between the old hierarchy v. the new one. It would help to compare and know if we have missed anything. Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!
There is a new column-store storage engine for reporting out of Onestream called "Analytic Blend". I have been examining the related documentation, and hoping to find an API that would allow this engine to return data for ad-hoc queries. We have custom processes that require CPM data from onestream. These processes would greatly benefit from the ability to retrieve query results from Analytic Blend. Is there any technical documentation that would help software developers to interact with that column-store data? I have the "BI Blend Design and Reference Guide" for XF 6.3.0, but no other resources beyond that. That document primarily describes how to prepare the Blend output database. But it doesn't describe how client applications might use the results. Can I assume this is because the because the database is standard Microsoft technology, (ie. that it only requires standard SQL knowledge/skills)? I have a loaded set of base data in our People Register, but this needs to be amended to capture New Hires, Leavers, Promotions etc. I had thought that this would be possible by using the excel file template that was used for loading the base data. I've tried doing this for a leaver, where I have manually changed the base entry to show the "to period" as the month that the person leaves and then created an entry in my blank template to show the remainder of the period with no salary (this enables me to build a bridge of starters, leavers etc.) When I load the file the new entry overwrites the row already in the People Register. What I need it to do is to add a row. The load method in the file shows "Merge" and I wonder what I should change this to in order to get the import of the adjustment file to add the adjustment rows rather than overwrite them.
Hi, Ever since some of your users shifted to windows 11, they cannot access OneStream web-based platform any more, because Internet Explorer is not compatible with Windows 11. So, they cannot downloaded the windows OS app any longer. Have you guys already experienced this? How did you overcome this obstable? Thanks a lot for your support. Best,Chris
Hi all Onestream stores a lot of information using an integer ID instead of a name. And most of the time we also deliver a simple way, to get objects (or names of objects) using an api or brapi call. Somehow getting the name of a dimension from its ID is an exception. Is there a simple way to do it? Cheers
Hello - I have a SQL data adapter that connects to an external database for data loads, dashboards, etc. Is it possible in the query to join these external tables to tables in the Application database? The server name in the error is the OneStream database server. Thanks,Bil

We have a Labor dimension we want to eliminate and instead we will create new accounts in our Account dimension. Looking for insight from anyone who has taken this on before. Hello Community, Do we have a way to check any missing member setting in an automated way? For example: Recently we had someone create a few entity members/rollups, which were missing "Auto Translation" setting. So I had to go in and scrub through region/district/branches to amend and change it to USD. Just curious, if we can "search" where a particular setting might be missing using a simple Business Rule. Maybe it throws a list of members where such setting is missing. Any idea will be appreciated. Thanks everyone
Hi Can anyone suggest , how can we automate loading of metadata into onestream from a flat file /table. What is the format of the file. I am aware of loading using xml from utilizing the metadata excel builder utility , but my client wants to automate metadata update in Onestream. I am not finding much documentation around that. SOURCE: ONESTREAM CHAMPIONS Hi Everyone, Curious to hear others’ experience in the area of Security. At BDO, we currently have: 5k users configured, of which 4.5k are enabled. 3.6k are in our “basic” level security group, which we have automation to create and assign users to this group when they meet certain criteria. We have seen in our first year live about 50% of our enabled users utilizing our Production App at some point during the year. Primarily focus on Data Level Access (Cube Slice Security) to control access, which 1 of our 3 cubes has 137 slices configured in it, which is the most granular of our 3 cubes. For groups we are currently at 312, of which 150 have users directly assigned and the others are for nesting shared access across groups. For security, we do very little control by Entity or Workflows since most access to data is controlled in Cube Slices based on our U2 (Location) and U3 (Department), and outside of our automated loads, few users load data via workflows.
hi for our consolidation application we need legal entity structure with company codes as the entity dimension. The data also comes with a profit center and we would like to see profit center as a UD dimension and report on it. However for planning purpose , all data is loaded by profit center , it is the primary hierarchy for wokflow etc. can we have the same hierarchy in both UD dimension as well as Entity and use it in different cubes in different dimension.
Has anyone experienced an extensible finance message stating "stream was too long" while using a quickview? I received the message after using UD4 as a column dimension and selecting more than 1 member. I set the maximum rows and columns to 50,000
Is there a way to allow different entity security for different processes in OneStream - particularly when implementing a Marketplace solution which is in a separate distinct cube, with separate distinct scenarios. For example, the user may have RW access in Finance cube to entities 1,2, and 3, and needs RW access in the Tax cube to entities 4, 5, and 6. How can I prevent them from having RW in both cubes to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6? I expect similar need may exist between actual and forecast scenarios in the Finance cube...
We are trying to format the point label text in a chart for the dashboard. We are able to format the value with the syntax "{V:0,0}". We also want it to have the font color black. We have tried several options, but whatever we punt in format or back of the syntax it will print that text. In Excel you can format numbers like [Red]#,##0 and it will display the value in Red. In the OS chart the result will be [Red] 10 for example. Does Anyone know the syntax to use to be able to control the font color of the labels in a chart?
Hi, I changed all font family and font size settings to Arial and 10 in OS under Application Properties/Standard Reports. It looks like all cells that were “written” by OneStream came through as Arial 10, but the cells that were not edited are still Calibri 11. I even tried to change my Excel settings to Arial 10 to see if that would work after exporting and had no luck. Any idea? Thanks, Hadi

Is there a way to display the report header for a cube view in the Excel Add-in? I have the Report Header section of the cube view designer filled out in the application, but when adding a cube view connection in Excel, it does not display.
