Workflow and Data Integration

Hi everyone!I am Angel and I am new to OneStream implementation and currently facing an issue. I am trying to update the Cube Name in my Workflow Profile, but it returned an error message.This workflow profile is under Cube A which has been set as the 'Top-Level Cube for Workflow'. Under Cube A, we have several Sub-Cubes (Cube A1, A2, etc.) which have been set in the Cube References. I am trying to update the 'Cube Name' in my Workflow Profile from 'Cube A' to 'Cube A1' because we would like to load the data into that sub-cube (Cube A1), but it gave me the error message below (screenshots below). Could you please tell what the error message is about and what I can do/check to fix it? Any answer would be so much appreciated, thank you!!  Cheers,Angel

Hi I am tried to configure a hard error on quarters and warning on off months for IC balances above thresholds.   The error I can use frequency Quarterly but for the warning I want it to run 1,2,4,5 etc.  I tried #TWFYearM1 or just 1 or just M1 but none of them worked.  Help?  Also checked the documentation says nothing about format and there are no examples in Golfstream.

Hi all, How can I run a batch file from a Workflow within OneStream?

We have added a new dimension and associated transformation rules. Previously this dimension we set to 'None' through a static value text definer from the Data Source.I have removed this and now added the respective transformation rules needed, however when retransforming the data, this new UD is still defaulting and sitting as 'None' Any ideas? Or do we need to remove all the data files themselves and reupload to update the mappings?

Hi All,Can we build a transformation rule with a logic that if the target of lets say UD4 is 'xxxx' and source Account number is 'yyyy' then UD3 gets mapped to a particular code?To simplify- Need to look at Target for UD4 and Source for Account to map to a specific UD3.Thanks.

I need to build a button where with a single a DM Sequence with multiple steps as well as a Dashboard Extender rule runs.I earlier thought that we can have a Execute Business Rule Data Management Step as one of the steps within the sequence but I wasn't able to find Dashboard Extender Rules within that.Can any of how guide on how that can be done? Thanks.

Hi All,So I copied scenario using the Data Management Job and using the below Custom Calculate Rule:Api.Data.Calculate("S#ScenarioType1:O#Import:V#Periodic = S#Actual:O#Top:V#Periodic")Now whenever I am running a consolidation for ScenarioType1 at the parent level, all the values within the base is getting removed and neither is the parent populated. Can anyone help me with incorrect step am I doing?

Hi all,I would ask your help on this topic.I would like to develop a workflow in which the requested steps are different from month to month.The goal is to have a basic input package for all months plus additional steps required only during the quarter closing periods (MAR, JUN,SEP and DEC). Hello OneStreamers,I've just upgraded to version 7.1.1 and noticed some unfamiliar messages popping up in the Error Log:Summary: OneStreamRelay Service startup has Disabled!.Summary: Smart Integration Connector Service is disabled.I've checked the release notes and reference guide and couldn't find any topics related to these services. Can someone please explain or point me to the related documentation?Thanks,Cosimo

Hello,is there a way to automate the creation of form template assigning the same name of the cube view?I have 30 disclosure forms to be added in a "form profile" and I am wondering if there is an alternative way of manually creating a "form template" for each "cube view". Thanks in advance for the help.Marcello 

HI I am trying to automate a data extract process to send data from OneStream to another system eg Anaplan. I have a data Mgmt job to Export the data to a CSV on the file share. I now want to move that CSV file from the file share to say my desktop for example (or any other file storage place). Has anyone done any routine like that? If so is there any BR in OneStream that can be used for that. I havent done this before but sure others may have come across this so just wondered what the best approach would be. Thanks!Tahir

Hi all,I have an issue whereby I'm loading our company actuals into OneStream, but if a General Ledger code has no data in it but had data in previous months, I think OneStream assumes the YTD value to be zero and so the opposite total of the previous months is being loaded.So for example the YTD total of repairs & maintenance may be £100 at Apr-22, and in May-22 there are no further transactions so the YTD position is still £100. However as no transactions occurred in May, when the data is loaded      -£100 appears in May.I've checked the DateSource and TransformationRules we have set up, I cant see a reason why this would be happening as it's all set up as 'Periodic', and so only the data from the initial load should be include.Does anyone have any ideas as to where the problem my lie, or where I could look to try and see why this is happening?Many thanks,Ged

Hi All,We're currently trying to map IC relationships in the transformation rules where the source data doesn't contain this field. We can map this based on the GL account from the ERP system but just unsure on how to do this in OneStream. Essentially we'd like to use 1-1 mapping but based a different column other than the IC in the source, is this possible?Thanks,

Hello,How can we navigate to a specific workflow step from a button? That workflow step holds a form template group at present. Can we have navigation on button click to that form template group?Any leads would be appreciated.

Hi- Our scenario is set up as Range ( say 2022M1 to 2024M12). I have a database table which have Jan to dec as columns and I have Year also as a column. So we have different year 2022, 2023 as rows and the data is in Jan to dec. IS there any way to load all of this together. Right now i can use a matrix data and put in a complex expression which can either say workflow time & "M1" etc or i can read a literal parameter read the year to be loaded and i can concat and return in the data source. But is there a way in data source complex expression or a parser business rule that I can get the value of another column  in the data source , so i can reference what is the field value of the year and the concatenate that.

Hi !I am trying to use a Drill Back option in my Data Connector.So far, I get the data from my connector in the staging area, which is great. Now I am trying to open an invoice document, which is stored noth in FileShare, or in Application Database for test purposes.However, even though I get the drill back types name, when trying to open the PDF file I only get the message "querying source system" and then nothing happen!Do you know of any reason why ? I thought it was a simple business rule ... Regards,

Business Rules can be used to load data into OneStream even after certification and Data locking.  Rule writers must take care and ensure that the rules has syntax lines to prevent such things for happening. Any other comments on this topic from the experts?

We recently migrated from the legacy “client API” to the “REST API”. They are fairly similar and the migration was straightforward. We use these interfaces to retrieve data via custom “cubeviews”. The cubeviews act as a vehicle for exporting business data from onestream cubes. However it would be more convenient if we did NOT have to build and deploy cubeviews each time we needed a new piece of data. I have not found any mechanism for this yet, either in the old “client API” or in the “REST API”. In other words, it would be nice if there was an “ad-hoc” mechanism for retrieving data programmatically from dimensions and cubes. I haven’t found this yet, in the OneStream “DataProvider” interface. I see that there is an option for running SQL queries but I was told to avoid it since it is low-level and is used to interact with raw/internal SQL tables whose schemas would not be meaningful from a business perspective. I have some experience retrieving structured cube data from the REST API named "GetAdoDataSetForCubeViewCommand". However, I'd like to get ad-hoc information. Ideally there would be another method that is analogous to retrieving data from an Excel "quickview". Did I overlook a "quickview" mechanism in the REST API? I am using the documentation named "REST API Implementation Guide", but it doesn't mention anything that looks promising. Perhaps there may be some undocumented approach? The cubeview already does much of what I need. However it requires preparation (the cubeviews must be prepared ahead of time and deployed to the server). It would be better if the API allowed "quickviews", since they don't require any previous preparation or infrastructure. Currently we are using Onestream v.6.3.0.

hi,i have a long running DM job which was triggered from ControlM using the REST API. The problem is controlM couldnt wait for the DM job completion to mark it as completed since the DMjob takes more than 2 hours to complete. Can we write a seperate function which sends back the DM job status from OneStream so that controlM can polls and check for the DM job completion. Is there an API method available which gives out the status of the DM job. ThanksVijay 

Hello!We're implementing Transaction Matching and we have a use case to load transactions on a daily basis and run matching each day.  Our TXM scenario has 12 periods, but we're finding that once the data in the Import step loads to the data set and the transactions match, additional files cannot be loaded using the same import step since there are now transactions from the first data set that have been matched. Example: Import transactions on May 1 into 2022M5, run matching - transactions are matched.Import transactions on May 2 into 2022M5 - error - all transactions in stage have to be unmatched first before reloading. Wondering how others handle this - create a separate import step for each day of the month to load each individual daily file and combine them all to load into one data set?  Are there other options?Thanks!Kathryn
