Workflow and Data Integration

We have lot of workflows by entities, for each entity we need to add another workflow step(Import). and each workflow has different security groups. here, how can i updated the new workflow step at a time at one go. Can you please suggest us some easy ways to update the same. Thank you, Shiva Prasad.

Hi all, We have experienced that in our application, at specific times of high workload where many processes are executed simultaneously, some tasks in the workflow that involve loading data into the cube remain in the ‘Running’ state for hours. I wonder how to find the cause of this issue, which seems to be a performance problem during periods of high workload. Thank you.

Does anyone know how to display Workflow status in a Cube View or a Dashboard? I would like to create a report that would show the status of a particular step within a subset of workflows. I am thinking of a more formatted presentation of the information available in the "Dependent Status" grid available in the "parent" workflow "Certify" grid. Hi,  I'm having difficulties trying to specify the Parent Filter in the data management step and was wondering if anyone has encounter this before and can suggest a better approach. I'm creating a data management step to trigger custom calculate elimination rule and trying to specify multiple parent members however it doesn't seem to work properly. When debugging the BR, i can see api.pov.parent is returning nothing whenever multiple parent members are specified in the parent filter of the Data Management Step.  It does work properly when a single parent member is defined, but this means I need to create multiple data management steps to triger the same calculation.  Below is the illustration of this scenario. Hello,Our environment is OS Cloud 7.4 version.I am trying to explore if it is possible to copy OS internal App table data to external DB thru SIC? I know there is way to extract OS app table data and save to 'External' DB table with  "BRApi.Database.SaveCustomDataTable" command passing "External' DB location as a parameter. We currently extract/read from "Custom" DB connection thru SIC into OS Cloud no problem, but now I want to data to go out bound from OS DB to SIC "Custom" DB.Thank you.

Hi, I need to make sure the first tab updates when the data changes on another tab after saving.  I tried to add the refresh on that save button and redraw that component from the first tab .   Is there a way to make this happen with the tabs.  I have to currently refresh the page in the upper right when I go to the first tab. For example, when Validation mapping fails: Operation Failed is Transformation.ValTrans.FinalizeValidateTransform   For example, when Validate Intersection fails: Operation Failed is Transformation.ValIntersect.FinalizeValidateIntersect   I am looking for similar event name when Import Process in workflow is failed.

Hello - recently in our Production environment a new user inadvertently locked and certified all of the workflows used for variance commentary before they were completed for the period. These workflows are descendants of the top workflow for the actual scenario type. We were eventually able to unlock and un-certify them, but going forward, is there a way to prevent this from occurring again without assigning specific user groups to each individual workflow? Right now, all of the users that enter variance commentary are in one user group, because their property assignments change on a regular basis, and it would create a maintenance headache for our admin team having to keep up with the much larger user group population.

Is there any documentation available for the backend tables in OneStream? Many of the tables are composed of keys pointing to other tables, and it can be challenging to discern the relationships between them. Additionally, understanding what each column in a table represents would be helpful. For instance, in the vStageSourceAndTargetData view table, columns like Wfk, Wsk, and Wtk essentially form the Workflow POV, but this isn't explicitly stated anywhere, making it difficult to interpret.

Hi, I am trying to access a file stored in Azure File Storage to import in the cube, but I need help to do that if I try using the REST API as the namespace Microsoft.Azure or any other Azure related namespace, as they are not available in the OneStream library.Has anyone encountered the same ?  Any better approach to achieve the desired outcome ? Thank you for your help 

Hello!We are using the OS API to pull data to ADF using data connectors and cube views.  This has been working fine until we upgraded to 8.2.2 a few weeks ago.  Here's the error I'm getting in ADF.  Our URL actually didn't change.  Has anyone seen this or know how to fix it?  THANKS IN ADVANCE! Is there a way to make a data source process rows that do not have a value in the Amount column? For example,  an import file has 4 rows: Account Name Cost Center Name Amount Cash G&A 5,000 AR G&A 5,000 AP G&A   Retained Earnings G&A 10,000 OneStream will only process the Cash, AR, and Retained Earnings rows becuase the AP row has no value in the Amount column. While a complex expression can evaluate the empty amount in the AP row and retun "0", the Data Sources only processes the three rows into Stage.  

I'm trying to run cubeviews by way of the REST api on Version: 8.2.2.16127 We use PAT tokens for a native onestream user. Suddenly I started receiving meaningless errors about a day ago like so: "An error occurred returning data for 'Cube View RPT_SVC_PbopHierarchyBase', Please check the Error Log for more details. Unable to create database connection. There is no open application"         Does anyone know what this means?  Is it a bug?  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi All, We have a requirement with regard to our data mapping. There are certain data fields which are marked as XXXXX. We want to skip these by using for example X? and X* but that does not seem to work. How can we simply skip every value which starts with and X? Thanks in advance.

Another system on the network is pushing data into OneStream using a REST API. OneStream has a DataManagement group and a step to absorb this data. Is there a way we can pass back a custom response to the calling system?   Thank You for all your help in advance. Indu

I'm trying to convert a 5YP forecasting file into an XFD excel import file. Unfortunately the business currently plans by year and 'scenario' (UD5) on the column so it's not as simple as adding the xfd tokens in. This is a simplified example of the planning file: Has anyone got any prior experience of creating an xfd file with multiple dimensions in the columns? Ideally this would all be kept in one sheet, rather than splitting it one sheet per UD5. 

I am creating a tableview and I would like to pull the timestamp of when all our sub-workflow profiles were locked. I can audit each and get the lock history so it is stored somewhere. We have our workflow profiles set up like this: Jan->Import->IC Matching->CAC->Close Month End (Certify Step)->Other reports->Close reports (Certify Step) Right now I can pull whether each step is locked using "BRApi.Workflow.Status.GetWorkflowStatus().Locked" and can get the timestamp of a profile with a certify step using "BRApi.DataQuality.Process.GetCertification". When I use "BRApi.Workflow.Status.GetWorkflowStatus().LastExecutedStepTime" it pulls a timestamp only for the top step and the certify steps (however in one of our dashboards we use this method to pull the timestamps of all our sub-profiles). I have added below as improvement suggestion in IdeaStream. In have some cubeviews with page captions that give some details on the content, when I use a dashboard with Tabs in a workflow, the description of the Dashboard component becomes the page caption. Is there another place where I can add a caption? Example: Cubeview has Page Caption:  Outbound Freight Rates Direct Shipments from |CVUD2Desc| |CVScenario| |WFYear| in USD (Incoterms based on customer master data), it shows like this: Dashboard component cubeview has Description: Outbound Freight Direct Shipments and this becomes the page caption like below: I would like and expect to see the page caption as maintained in the cubeview.
