Hi, I have a requirement where I need to compare a member in list of members (listOfmem) and see if the member exists in list. Does anyone have experience leveraging GitHub or any other code version control tool to manage Business Rules with OneStream? Assuming we have a remote Git repository on GitHub that keep track of all of our business rules. How do we push the code from remote repository to OneStream? Or in other words how do we run git command to push/pull. In this context, we want to assume there is file system on cloud store all the business rules in file format.  If there is no file system on OneStream, how are the Business Rules managed on cloud? Any pointers will be appreciated. We found a way to update the Business Rule table: xml_data in Application Database. But we are seeking for better options.    

I feel like an idiot asking this question but I can't find anything on google. Where do all of the 'Helper' classes come from? TimeDimHelper, StringHelper, ApplicationZipFileHelper, ScenarioDimHelper  Are these all OneStream specific? Is there any documentation or good posts about their use? Thanks, Scott

My client has member property Text1 in UD1 as a second description or alias, he wants to display Text1 instead of name or description. I tried with CV Function "u1#top.descendants.where(Text1 <> '')", but It is not working because keep appearing name or description. Any recommendation with function CV or XFBR please? Thanks.

Hello, I am wondering if anyone would be will to help me with a business rule for our people planning.  I am not sure how to read these, but I am trying to determine where in the rule it's telling which periods to calculate.  For some reason it's not calculating all the periods. Hey, I am working on rule to allocate cost to product. It worked when one side of buffer is unbalanced but I do have both. Here is the example. Not sure how can we do? My rate are by Product and NO COP while Cost is by Country of production, by account, by function. I want to store cost where we Cost are and allocate to product.

We are using an Extensibility Rule to import data from a database using a Stored Procedure (SP) within a do...while loop that modifies the SP parameters. The current implementation works as expected, but our customer has requested us to modify the Business Rule so it executes the SP with all the loop combinations, even if an error occurs during a single SP execution. I attempted to implement this using nested Try...Catch blocks, so the error in the inner block does not get to the outer one. Unfortunately, it did not resolve the issue with this code structure: Try (previous code, including do) Try BRApi.Database.ExecuteSql(...) Catch ex As Exception log.AppendLine(...) End Try (more code, including while) Catch (general error handling) End Try The BR still terminates when an SP error occurs: am I missing something? is there a way to prevent the BR to stop when an error occurs? I have an Assembly which is compiling without errors. The Assembly type is DashboardStringFunction. I called the assembly from DM step in the Time Filter: XFBR(Worspace.PS_Allocation_Rules.PS_Allocation.PS_XFBR_Allocation, MultiSelectTime, Allocation_MonthsToCopy=[|!Allocation_MonthsToCopy!|]) When I execute the step, I am getting below error: Error processing Data Management Step 'Allocations_AllAccountBkt_Step'. Invalid parameter. Time Filter, #ERROR: XFBR[Worspace.PS_Allocation_Rules.PS_Allocation.PS_XFBR_Allocation, MultiSelectTime, Allocation_MonthsToCopy=[2023]]. So this seems like it should be easy, and still may be, but it has me stumpt.  If I know the name of a cube, say "Houston" from Golftream, how can I determine within a business rule what Attribute and Value dimensions that cube has active for its various scenario types?  So in this example, for the Actual sceanrio type, Houston only has Attribute1 active with an alias of "InvoiceNo".  I can not figure out where to find this information.  I looked at both the Cube and CubeInfo classes but nothing jumps out at me.  It seems like CubeInfo has everything else but this information so maybe it is there but just not sure what property is is buried in.  Has anyone had to get this information for a business rule before?

I want to perform a subtraction of columns 1 and 2, I did it with the code below, but I see that it affects my performance too much, so I would like to know what other option I can do to do something like this without affecting the performance too much, I added that it waits 600 seconds but it still takes too much time. Hi Community,I am building a Business Rule which will pull data base level data for a specific parent under the Account dimension.I am using FdxExecuteDataUnit to pull data from the cube, but I am not able to add Parent.Base as Account filter in the parameter.  It's seem like I am only able to put a member directly and not and .Base member in the filter. For context, we have a button on a dashboard that triggers a function held in the workspace assemblies (specifically as Dashboard Extender).  That function starts a data management sequence.  When the user presses the button OS just stops.  You can't check status, you can't navigate anywhere else in the instance.  The button remains depressed seizing hold of your instance until the DM sequence is complete. The issue is this sequence takes up to 30 minutes to complete.  You can open a new instance and move on, but that is highly inconvenient.  Is there a way to set it up in the assembly dashboard extender that the DM sequence runs as a background job, and the button doesn't need to stay active until complete? I can extract data by using SQL in the System and Application Tables, but I don't know how to extract the Data from the System Tab -> Logging -> Logon Activity, Task Activity or Error Log.  If I choose right click and export, then I just get the current screen. I am trying to write a parser business rule to give the portion of a string that begins with US and the 6 characters after from a data source. For example, the imported line reads "mmmmmmmmmUSxxxxxxmmmmmmm" and I want to parse out USxxxxxx to which is mapped in the transformation rules.  I also need it to be dynamic because the line will not always be in the same character place.  It could also be "mmmmmUSxxxxxxmmm" or anywhere else within the text.  I have tried using the rule below but it is not bringing back any values.  The import is reflecting "blank."   Dim sText As String = args.Value Dim result As String = "" If sText.Contains("US") Then      result = sText.Substring(sText.IndexOf("US"),8) End If Return result
