Reporting

Hi,We have daily information loaded into OS database and we want to generate different reports and send them via mail. We thought about using parcel service, so we want to include the reports in a book. What are the options for generating reports from the database? Can this only be done using grid views? Is there any option for displaying a dashboard report in a book? Regards,

I can use T#YearPrior1(|WFTime|) in my cube views and it yields the correct date. However, when I use this variable in my ConfirmationRuleArgs, I get an error noting: "Invalid calculation script. Unexpected text. |WFTime|)." Is there a way to have the confirmation rule pull December PY based on the workflow time the user is in?  Thanks for the help!

Hello, Wondering if anyone knows how to have the same Style (Primary, Upper, row/column header, data Styles) as Excel in OS Spreadsheet tool. We have defined in Excel a new custom Primary Style which is visible in the Excel QuickView Settings (under 'Excel Styles)...but it is not visible in OS Spreadsheet tool. Thanks, Regards, Harry

Hi - I am currently working on a dashboard that leverages a data adapter to an external database to fetch detailed GL transactions (similar to drillback functionality) and return them in a BI Viewer table within a dashboard.  The SQL statement currently works as intended for when referencing a single, base member account and comparing to a bound account parameter a la: WHERE   sql_data_account = '|OSAccountParameter|' I'd like to modify this so that records are returned for all base members of an account a la: WHERE   sql_data_account IN '|OSAccountParameter|.base' However, I can't get anything similar to the above to work.  I assume it's because '|OSAccountParameter|.base' gets read a string literal.  Any ideas on how I can reference a list of base member given an account provided by a parameter in SQL? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi - I am working on a BI Viewer dashboard and need some help with hyperlink formatting.  I am using a SQL data adapter to an external database which amongst other things, is fetching an internet URL which we are trying to display as a hyperlink with alternative text.  Ideally we'd be able to display text from an alternate line item but I'd settle for something static (i.e. "link").  Thus far I haven't found a way to display anything other than the link text itself and couldn't find anything in the documentation that references the "hyperlink" option under "Data Items / Column Options". Example of current output: Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How can I view more than one plug accounts when doing a report in Intercompamy Matching? Or I can only use one plug account.  

Wondering if anyone knows how to scale data in quick views. Looked through the formatting options and couldn't find anything that would do what I'm looking for. ie. 123,445 can be scaled in thousands to 123. Thanks, Scott

Hi all, Is it possible to apply .base/.children to the non-primary dimension in a member filter? For example, the below screenshot, I tried to apply the below member filter (A#101:U2#100.base), but it only returns the first member from the UD2 dimension. I understand that I could put the U2 dimension to the next expansion level, but just want to explore another way to combine the script into one expansion level. Thank you.

Hello,  I was wondering if there is an option to have text in the row header wrap?  The current version we are running allows us to wrap text in Excel by using ExcelWrapText=true in the formatting tab, but was wondering if there is a similar function available for the text to wrap in the row header?  Thanks!

hi, I am having trouble keeping the percentage sign for my percentage columns when running a report book from a CV. the percentage sign is working when it is in CV but not when it is exported to excel or when I run it in a report book. I did change the cell formatting for reporting as suggested in another post, which is changing ReportUseNumericBinding to True and set ReportNumbericBindingFormat to percent sign. But it is still not working for me. this is the formatting I am using for the column: BackgroundColor = White, ExcelNumberFormat = 0.00%, ExcelRightBorderColor = Black, ExcelRightBorderLineStyle = Thin, ExcelWrapText = True, ReportNumericBindingFormat = [#,###,0\%], ReportUseNumericBinding = True, ShowPercentSign = True

Hey everyone, Is it possible to display either a text field or any other member filter in BI Viewer Dashboard? When using a CubeViewMD data adapter, I notice that even if the cube view being referenced uses :Name(XFMemberProperty(DimType=Account, Member=|MFAccount|, Property=Text3)) in the cube view it will display the dimension name in the dashboard instead of Text3 the way it does in the cube view? thank you.  

Hi, we would like to build a report with two columns with comments Annotations/AuditComments/VarianceExplanations). Each column needs to be filled in by a different team. The two teams need to be able to read each other comments. I am using UD3 to distinguish these two type of comments (as the requirements ask for variance explanation from more than 4 teams) The problem I am running into is that the varianceexplanaiton column is open for everyone to edit as long as that person has access to that cubeview. I have not found a way to make one column read-only and the other read-and-write depending on the security group. The "Can Modify Data" setting in the cube view does not seem to do anything. Anyone who can help on this?            

Hi all, I was not able to find a detailed guidance on how/when to use different view dimension members, so I would like to seek for advice here. In a cube view, I have a member formula which return either a text or number based on different conditional. For example, if conditional A is met, return a calculated value (sum of Account A and Account B), else return "Not applicable" text.  I notice that we can utilize V#Annotation to display the text, but then it cannot display the number. So, I would like to know if there is a view member to allow display of both number and text.  Thank you so much!  

Hello,  I am receiving an error "Value is either too large or too small for a decimal" in a Cube View when I try to divide values in two rows using the cube view math.   When exported into Excel the math for the same division yields 8.2, which does not seem like it would be too large or too small for a decimal.  Example:  GetDataCell(A#NetInc / A#Diluted_Shares_Outstanding_AsAdjusted_DC)      I am trying to divide the two rows shown above.  Using the Excel divide function produces a clean 8.26, which I would not expect to be "too large or too small for a decimal" The second member is a Dynamic Calc member that dynamically changes the view to either YTD or QTD depending on user's POV, but is not doing any math on the account value itself.  Any help or insight into this issue would be appreciated. Hello all, I need to create a dashboard based on a cube view where I have accounts on rows, and MTD and YTD view in columns for actual, actual vs budget, actual vs PY. The request is to have in the dashboard the report with the rows displayed between the MTD and YTD view columns.  Is there any way I could achieve this in OneStream? Thank you! Adina      

  Hi, I am trying to use Cube View (already added in Data Adapter as Cube View MD) within the Report Designer of the Report component. However, I am unable to see the row-wise values for Entity and Account, and the column-wise UD8 for Text consolidation. I have checked various Data Adapters and Report components in different MarketPlace solutions but have not found a similar case. There also appears to be a lack of comprehensive video tutorials or study materials on using the Report component. Could you please assist me with this? Thanks
