How to create a financial report? What tools do i need to create one in the platform

Hi everyone, We have a cube view with three rows structured as follows: Row1: E#Parent1.Children:U1#Member1 Row2: E#Parent1.Children:U1#Member2 Row3: Variance between two columns. To handle this, I created an XFBR that dynamically generates a string based on the number of children for the user-selected parent (Parent1 as a parameter). The generated string will look something like this: GetDataCell(CVR(Row1,1) - CVR(Row2,1)), GetDataCell(CVR(Row1,2) - CVR(Row2,2)), and so on. We have three columns in the same cube view: two data columns and one text column. The text column uses the U8 member as a dynamic calc member, which returns a string. In the variance row for the text column, I'm getting a blank instead of a string. I’ve tried different row override methods using XFBR and XFCell, but haven’t had any success. I suspect that GetDataCell might be causing the issue, but I wanted to ask for some guidance. Has anyone encountered this problem, or does anyone have any suggestions? Your inp

I am building a UD8 dynamic calc to bypass the limit of 4 cube view overrides. The calculation will read the referenced member (e.g. A#Net_Income:S#Actual) and return a different member intersection (A#Net_Income:S#Plan2024) In order to return the correct plan scenario, The UD8 member must read the time parameter used in the cube view. This functionality exists, but is throwing an unexpected error. My parameter exists in the default workspace. To pull my literal parameter value, I have the following code: TimeParameter = "Param_Time_LitValue" Dim TimeMbr As String = BRApi.Dashboards.Parameters.GetLiteralParameterValue(Si, False, Guid.Empty, TimeParameter) TimeMbr returns the value "Unknown". From my research, this error occurs when you reference a parameter that is defined in a different workspace, which is not the case here. I would appreciate advice on what I am doing wrong. Hi Team, Is there a way to set the No Input period property for Scenario dimension using XFBR/Parameter dynamically through DM Jobs. for ex: a new scenario test2, needs to be copied with test1 scenario data across all years (Closed periods + Open periods).The requirement is to have "No Input Period" property as 0 during coping the data and later during consolidation thorough DM step set it to Current actual close period value (i.e for may close it should be 5).   Thank you in Advance.

Hi all, We have experienced that in our application, at specific times of high workload where many processes are executed simultaneously, some tasks in the workflow that involve loading data into the cube remain in the ‘Running’ state for hours. I wonder how to find the cause of this issue, which seems to be a performance problem during periods of high workload. Thank you.

  When I do a keep only on this quickview below, it causes all rows to disappear.  only way to get around it is to choose the entity I want in the parameter/member filter builder.   Why would keep only cause all rows to disappear?    

Does anyone know how to display Workflow status in a Cube View or a Dashboard? I would like to create a report that would show the status of a particular step within a subset of workflows. I am thinking of a more formatted presentation of the information available in the "Dependent Status" grid available in the "parent" workflow "Certify" grid. I have a CV with a row definition A#A111:U1#XYZ:U2#ABC:U3#LMN, A#A111:U1#XYZ:U2#ABC:U3#OPQ Please note U3 is LMN and then OPQ.  This definition is generated by a BR.I am trying to color a row in the CV if the U3 member is say "OPQ".I was able to format the color based on U3(using RowE1MemberName conditional formatting) but had to make U3 the first Row Header by saying "Use Default Row Headers" false and setting U3 as Header1. Want to see if there is some way of saying that without making the U3 as the first row header.  Thanks, JS

Hello community, We have a Custom Calculate DM job that clears data by account and flow via parameter selection that works well. Our client wants to know if it is possible to select multiple base accounts at once to clear the data. The parameter options such as member filter does not allow selecting more than one account so I'm hoping, if this is possible, that maybe someone has used multiple NameValuePairs to achieve this via two parameters of the same dimension somehow. Throwing ideas that may or may not be good out here. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone figured out a way to use an XFBR to determine the Bound Parameter on a Combo Box? It seems like a no-brainer that this should be possible but I've not been able to figure out how. Hoping someone has figured out what the syntax on the XFBR has to be to make this work or can confirm that this isn't possible.  Thanks

I am trying to create a small POC for using a SQL Table Editor tool.  However, I am unable to edit a table row on the SQL Table Editor even after it is in a Dashboard with all of the settings to do so.  What is the typical reason for this?  I have Default For Allow Column Updates = True and my OneStream Database Server Maintenance Group for Ancillary Tables is set to Administrators (I am an Admin).  I tried setting that to Everyone and that didn't work either.  I am confused on way the basic functionality of this to to edit SQL data is not working.  Any help appreciated!   Thank you!  

Hi, We have a service account setup in our EntraID IdP that is used to call the API. Now that we've enabled OIS, we're having difficulty setting up a PAT for the service account since typically nobody logs into the service account and accesses OneStream, so the account is unable to provision a PAT for themselves. Would anybody have any suggestions as to how to proceed? Thanks!

See the TWO screenshots below, the first is bad and the second is good. In dashboard design mode on some dashboards, what is causing the left panel to be blue? This is the vertical panel that shows all the artifacts in the dashboard.  This is preventing us from seeing which artifact is being selected in the right panel.  In this screenshot the "PDO To Update" label is selected in the right panel but the artifact is not highlighted in the left panel. This makes troubleshooting much more difficult. This is bad In this screenshot, the "Create New PDO" label is selected in the right panel and we can see the artifact hightlighted in the left panel because the left panel is not blue. We are using an Extensibility Rule to import data from a database using a Stored Procedure (SP) within a do...while loop that modifies the SP parameters. The current implementation works as expected, but our customer has requested us to modify the Business Rule so it executes the SP with all the loop combinations, even if an error occurs during a single SP execution. I attempted to implement this using nested Try...Catch blocks, so the error in the inner block does not get to the outer one. Unfortunately, it did not resolve the issue with this code structure: Try (previous code, including do) Try BRApi.Database.ExecuteSql(...) Catch ex As Exception log.AppendLine(...) End Try (more code, including while) Catch (general error handling) End Try The BR still terminates when an SP error occurs: am I missing something? is there a way to prevent the BR to stop when an error occurs? This is a weird question but how can I confirm what version I'm on within a OS application? I used to use the version on the top bar of the log in window in both excel or the OS windows app but I learned today that there's the possibility that our environment version is different than what shows there if the versions are not kept in sync by our IT team.  Any direction would be helpful!  Thanks! -Nicole

Hi,  I'm having difficulties trying to specify the Parent Filter in the data management step and was wondering if anyone has encounter this before and can suggest a better approach. I'm creating a data management step to trigger custom calculate elimination rule and trying to specify multiple parent members however it doesn't seem to work properly. When debugging the BR, i can see api.pov.parent is returning nothing whenever multiple parent members are specified in the parent filter of the Data Management Step.  It does work properly when a single parent member is defined, but this means I need to create multiple data management steps to triger the same calculation.  Below is the illustration of this scenario. Hello, Is there a way to set the default value for the member list . I created a parameter and wrote a XFBR string set this parameter as the default to the other parameter that is the bound value on the cbx and it did not work.   Any suggestions?
