Currently I have a button on a dashboard that will run a business rule that checks if a specific load task is completed. If it is, it will trigger a data management job to run. If the load job is not completed the process ends. I would like to trigger a pop-up window telling the user if the data management package is not going to run. So far I have been unable to figure out the commands to do this with-in my business rule. Thanks, Tom
We are in the process of changing our chart of accounts and department structure (for us, UD3 and UD1, respectively). Further complicating things is that some of the old UD3/1 members will likely be consolidated into one UD3/1 member, and vice versa. We will need to keep the existing data in its original intersections (e.g if UD3#ABC changes to UD3#123, we need the historical data to stay in UD3#ABC). Or do we? We currently map each of our 3 different GLs* in UD3 to accounts in the A# dim which is at the P&L/BS level. Has anybody out there done this before? What approach did you take? Can we simply create new transformation rules and somehow reference the old ones for historical data? Do we simply create a new hierarchy in UD3 for the new members (bloat?)? If so, how do we reference them in dashboards and cube views that compare past and present data? I have so many questions as to the best or simplest way to do this. Bonus poin
Hi all,I'm in trouble in using an XFBR from an Assembly, inside a Data Adapter.I've just discovered that it's possible to use the XFBR function as part of a SQL Command, like this:SELECT * FROM MyTable WHERE MyField = 'XFBR(MyBR, MyFunction, Param1=|!prm_Whatever!|)'I was surprised to see it working, but this is not the point. When MyBR is defined as a Business Rule, everything isworking fine. Then I moved the Business Rule into a Service XFBR. Since the Factory is defined at Workspace level, I converted the query as:SELECT * FROM MyTable WHERE MyField = 'XFBR(WS, MyFunction, Param1=|!prm_Whatever!|)'Directly testing the Data Adapter everything works fine, I can see the converted query and also the results. Now, the problems:The above mentioned Data Adapter is used by a Report. When the XFBR is defined under the Business Rules area, everything is ok.When I launch the report (from a Dashboard), i get the following error:Error processing XFBR String 'MyFunction'. Unable to find the Wor
Dear all, Could you please advise is it possible to show Account Name and Description in cube view in two separate columns instead of single column?
Hello everyone! I am very new to the industry and OneStream and I really need some help to kick start my application building journey!Currently, I am trying to test out the capabilities of OneStream using the scenario stated below:I have one central division that will split into two 'teams'. For example, Division_1 and Division_2, both teams have handle their own projects. For example, for D_2, under Project 50A there are mini projects like 50A001 and 50A002. For D_1, under the same project 50A, they handle other projects like M0001 and M0002.So what I am trying to achieve is: Tracking their expenses, so they will roll up to the central Division. E.g. Division 1, project 50A, spent $1,000, Division 2, project 50A spent $1,500. So the rolled up amount would be $2,500 and the ability to breakdown to the specific items. If possible (which it is) Division 1 handle projects that are "Approved" so the expenses are actual. Division 2 handle projects that are "Awaiting Approval" so the exp
Hello, Our transformationeventhandler rule adds missing UD1 members to an unmapped parent. The rule works and has been for a few months. A couple of weeks ago I built a business rule which leverages the utitlity "ExecuteFileHarvestBatch".I have the relevant settings as True. Dim valTransform As Boolean = TrueDim valInterest As Boolean = TrueDim loadCube As Boolean = TrueDim processCube As Boolean = True The batch rule was built so I could schedule the data load. What I am noticing, is when the scheduled job (which calls a DM job with the rule) runs there are failures because of missing UD1 members. If I, then run the import/validate/Load and Process steps manually there are no errors and the missing UD1 members get added. It is as if the TransformationEventHandler is not being executed when the import process runs via the scheduler/dm job/rule. Any ideas for suggestions of where to look?
Hi allit seems that OS 8.4 notification settings by default only send emails to 50 users. Could this setting this changed / amended and if so in which part of the application?Thank you Nou
I'm fairly new to OneStream. I've a requirement where if ICP is P213 and irrespective of any source entity then target entity will be "Chicago" and if Source entity is "E123" then target entity will be "New York". The problem which I'm facing is that I do have "E123" in source file where it only takes the mapping of "E123"->"New York". It doesn't even see if the ICP is P213.
Dear colleagues, Could you please advise why error Pov occurred in cube view calculated columns (I use formula GetDataCell in member filter in these columns) when I click save button in order to save text comments in column VarianceExplanation (this column contains member V#VarianceExplanation). When I reload this cube view again this error removes, and I also see that text was saved. See below error:
Hi I have created a workflow and need to assign entities however they are not showing up on the list. The only one which is showing up is NoneWhat could be the reason for this? Regards
Does someone knows the syntax to call a memberlist that is written in a Finance MemberList service accessed via a service factory? I've tried many forms but cannot get to my code. Thanks
Has anyone been able to get an extensibility rule to work in the workspace assemblies? I've looked and I haven't seen much of any documentation on this. I'm working in 8.4 and have the rule working when I have it using the regular extensibility business rule which is attached to a DM job to run. When I try to move it to a workspace assembly and put it on a DM job it doesn't work. I've created a new file as the Extensibility Business rule source code and have the same code with no errors. I don't see an option in the Ws Assembly Factory to specifically call out extensibility rules either. So far I've been successful with getting an XFBR, Extender Rule and Custom calculate rule to work in assemblies but extensibility doesn't seem to work. Below is the error I am getting.
Hi, all, Could you please advise why we need to add each base time dimension member on Transformation Rules table when source and target base time member are the same?
Hi all, Here's the situation: There are several CV with the same accounts as rows (CV1, CV2, CV3, etc.) that have slightly different columns. For each main CV, it's needed to drill down until arriving to the base. Would it be possible to set a navigation CV to a common CV with dynamic columns so that the CV can adapt to each main CV? I would like to avoid creating a CV set for each main CV. Thank you
Hi Everyone,Has anyone worked on establishing an SFTP connection in extensibility rules using a PPK file? I am currently facing an issue where, despite setting the SshPrivateKeyPath property in the session options, I receive the error: "No supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey)."Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated.Thank you,Mithun
Where do I find documentation for the function "XFMemberProperty"? The best I've found is the Design and Reference guide. But it just asks you to refer to the "Samples tab in the Member Filter Builder." I spend a lot of time poking around by trial-and-error, before I am able to figure out what property names are valid. In the cubeview editor experience, the property names aren't easily "discoverable". Nor does it validate your expressions until you execute the cubeview. So every time you make an invalid guess at a property name, it can cost you a significant amount of time, (depending on how quickly you can fill in the report prompts, and how long it takes for the cubeview to be rendered.)
I have a custum tree hierarchy with multiselection, It looks like this Is there a way to format this component to open like this:
I have a cubeview with 1 Row = A#NetIncome.TreedescendantsInclusiveR. I would like to have the accounts collapsed, so that the report doesn't have all the accounts/rows expanded.I have set RowExpansionMode = CollapseAll, but it did not change anything and all rows are still expanded. Am I missing some other configurations?
Does anyone know if you can create an Excel spreadsheet from Business Rules? I do not mean a csv file - I need to create multiple sheets. The OpenXMLBuilder object doesn't seem to have anything with writing files. I don't want to use a third-party object as that would require an installation or download. Thanks for any suggestions.
Originally posted by Francisco BassolsHello, I am trying to create a report showing the audit trail of which users performed specific actions, as load data, process cube, certify steps or lock/unlock a period from the workflow. While the dashboard "WF_WorkflowStatus_RPTAR" (from the administrator solution tools) but it only shows the status (e.g. Completed, Locked) but there is no trace of who performed the lock action. I've looked in the tables "TaskflowStepLog" and "WorkflowLock" from the application database as in the tables "TaskActivityStep" and ''TaskActivity" from the os_framework2 database, but with no luck. Do anyone knows where to find this information or could provide some guidance on it? This kind of information is sometimes requested during audits and would be handy to be able to retrieve it from the system. Thanks in advance, Francisco
Good DayI would like to know if it is possible to extract a table out of a DEV onestream app and then upload that table in a UAT onestream app? If not, are there any tools on marketplace which can assist in doing so?RegardsRehaan
Hello,I am working in an 8.5 application and want to utilize Finance Custom Calculate services within a dashboard. My service factory is enabled at the Dashboard Maintenance Unit level of detail. I am trying to launch the custom calculate function via a dashboard button.Does anyone have example syntax for this? I figured OneStream would release documentation externally for this but was unable to locate any. Thanks!
I used data management jobs to extract historical data from a legacy application and they are now sitting in file explorer and are split-out by period. I need to extract these files to load to a new application. I tried holding shift and control on my keyboard to highlight multiple files but I did not have any success. I believe this will need to done via business rule but I am unsure. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.
We have been running several tests on DM jobs to upload batch files through the Harvest. We have a lot of subfolders created that we don't need anymore. Is there any way to delete? Thanks!
