Hi all,While getting into OS, I'm trying to figure out how to leverage on its framework... And I have a question related to secrets management.Let's say that - at application (workspace?) level - I need to access to a remote service that requires an OAuth token (or user/pass tuple, or whatever I need to keep away from user's eyes - and fingers).The above mentioned secrets should be (visually?) managed by an administrator. Does OS offer something out-of-the-box to accomplish this task ? And, in case, can we leverage on some API to retrieve secret data ?Thanks for Your answers.FabioG

Hi Team,   I have a question around the orphan members. I know that when we remove the relationship, the member gets moved under the Orphan section. After moving to the Orphan section, can we load data into the member through the Workflows? Thanks in advance AK  

I am trying to record an additional Depr Exp in December 2024.   Db Depr Exp (P&L) Cr AD Machine &Equip. (BS) However, when I roll into January 2025, the effect of the December entry has been calculated into the BOP Retained Earnings, but my balance sheet does not balance.  I can tell the AD Machine & Equip account does not reflect the additional amount recorded in the journal entry.  I need to enter this JE into January of the following year, am I supposed to enter this as an unbalanced journal entry, hitting only AD Machine & Equip?  

 Hi,  I'm trying to display a time-variant text property of the UD1 dimension member in a report. The challenge is that the text value can exist in any period of the member, so I currently loop through the forecast periods (spanning two years) to retrieve the values. While the code works, its performance is not good.Is there a way to fetch or look up the text properties by time (possibly from a specific table) without iterating through all periods? We are in the process of changing our chart of accounts and department structure (for us, UD3 and UD1, respectively).  Further complicating things is that some of the old UD3/1 members will likely be consolidated into one UD3/1 member, and vice versa.  We will need to keep the existing data in its original intersections (e.g if UD3#ABC changes to UD3#123, we need the historical data to stay in UD3#ABC).  Or do we? We currently map each of our 3 different GLs* in UD3 to accounts in the A# dim which is at the P&L/BS level.  Has anybody out there done this before?  What approach did you take?  Can we simply create new transformation rules and somehow reference the old ones for historical data?  Do we simply create a new hierarchy in UD3 for the new members (bloat?)? If so, how do we reference them in dashboards and cube views that compare past and present data?  I have so many questions as to the best or simplest way to do this.  Bonus poin

Hi all,I'm in trouble in using an XFBR from an Assembly, inside a Data Adapter.I've just discovered that it's possible to use the XFBR function as part of a SQL Command, like this:SELECT * FROM MyTable WHERE MyField = 'XFBR(MyBR, MyFunction, Param1=|!prm_Whatever!|)'I was surprised to see it working, but this is not the point.When MyBR is defined as a Business Rule, everything isworking fine.Then I moved the Business Rule into a Service XFBR. Since the Factory is defined at Workspace level, I converted the query as:SELECT * FROM MyTable WHERE MyField = 'XFBR(WS, MyFunction, Param1=|!prm_Whatever!|)'Directly testing the Data Adapter everything works fine, I can see the converted query and also the results.Now, the problems:The above mentioned Data Adapter is used by a Report. I am very new to the industry and OneStream and I really need some help to kick start my application building journey!Currently, I am trying to test out the capabilities of OneStream using the scenario stated below:I have one central division that will split into two 'teams'. For example, Division_1 and Division_2, both teams have handle their own projects. For example, for D_2, under Project 50A there are mini projects like 50A001 and 50A002. For D_1, under the same project 50A, they handle other projects like M0001 and M0002.So what I am trying to achieve is: Tracking their expenses, so they will roll up to the central Division. E.g. Division 1, project 50A, spent $1,000, Division 2, project 50A spent $1,500. So the rolled up amount would be $2,500 and the ability to breakdown to the specific items.If possible (which it is) Division 1 handle projects that are "Approved" so the expenses are actual. Hello, Our transformationeventhandler rule adds missing UD1 members to an unmapped parent.The rule works and has been for a few months. A couple of weeks ago I built a business rule which leverages the utitlity "ExecuteFileHarvestBatch".I have the relevant settings as True. Dim valTransform As Boolean = TrueDim valInterest As Boolean = TrueDim loadCube As Boolean = TrueDim processCube As Boolean = True The batch rule was built so I could schedule the data load.What I am noticing, is when the scheduled job (which calls a DM job with the rule) runs there are failures because of missing UD1 members.If I, then run the import/validate/Load and Process steps manually there are no errors and the missing UD1 members get added. It is as if the TransformationEventHandler is not being executed when the import process runs via the scheduler/dm job/rule. Any ideas for suggestions of where to look?

Has anyone been able to get an extensibility rule to work in the workspace assemblies? I've looked and I haven't seen much of any documentation on this. I'm working in 8.4 and have the rule working when I have it using the regular extensibility business rule which is attached to a DM job to run. When I try to move it to a workspace assembly and put it on a DM job it doesn't work. I've created a new file as the Extensibility Business rule source code and have the same code with no errors. I don't see an option in the Ws Assembly Factory to specifically call out extensibility rules either. So far I've been successful with getting an XFBR, Extender Rule and Custom calculate rule to work in assemblies but extensibility doesn't seem to work. Below is the error I am getting.  

Hello,I am working in an 8.5 application and want to utilize Finance Custom Calculate services within a dashboard. My service factory is enabled at the Dashboard Maintenance Unit level of detail. I am trying to launch the custom calculate function via a dashboard button.Does anyone have example syntax for this? I figured OneStream would release documentation externally for this but was unable to locate any. Thanks! 

I used data management jobs to extract historical data from a legacy application and they are now sitting in file explorer and are split-out by period. I need to extract these files to load to a new application. I tried holding shift and control on my keyboard to highlight multiple files but I did not have any success. I believe this will need to done via business rule but I am unsure. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.

Hi, I have set all security settings on an entity to "Nobody" and yet when I see a dashboard using a non-admin user I still see data. The same when using a spreadsheet. This does not make sense to me. What am I missing? 

I've heard about org by period since my first exposure to OneStream but I see nothing in the docs and no clear discussion about how it works or what the limitations/requirements are. Where does this information live?

Hi All, Working with a dialog box with 3 parameters that are being used in a business rule later on. I want the parameters on dashboard load to always show the first value in my delimited list. Right now it always saved my previous selection. I have tried to set "Default Value" in the parameter itself, that dosen't work, guess it is only working on first load? I have tried to run a Dashboard extender BR like below to set param values on load of dashboard, but it dosen't overwrite my previous selection.: Only thing that have worked this far is to set a bound parameter with a set value on my button that opens my dialog box. However it seems to only let me add one bound parameter, I have 3.    Anyone having any advice how I can set one value from my delimited list to always appear when loading my dialog box. 

Hello All, I have a Cube View that I want to use as data source for a BI VIewer object. When I execute this CV, I can see data: When I use this (basic) CV as MD in data adapter, it is empty. I checked the set up steps in the doc and I can't see what I could have missed.   Would you have any ideas why the result table doesn't return values that I can see in my Cube View ? Hi everyone, I have to do some systems diagnostics but I cannot run the dashboard because there is an error in the business rule "OSD_SolutionHelper". This business rule does not compile due to an error in line 4882Dim computer As New Microsoft.VisualBasic.Devices.Computer()Error: Type 'Microsoft.VisualBasic.Devices.Computer' is not defined. Anyone else encountering this issue? We are on version 8.4.0.16413. RegardsMartin  

Hi, I am testing V 7.2.3 in our Dev environment. Production is still on 6.5. The security and user groups, data sources, and workflow profiles are identical between the two. I am able to import and validate TB's in the workflow, but several others are not able to Validate in the Dev environment. Has anyone else experienced this?  The validation message is "No Security Access", but the workflow profile and security groups are idential to prod. Thanks!

I created a new dimension member as a child of our direct_department member in UD2.  I have updated all of the transformation rules and mirrored the member properties of its siblings.  I have loaded this month's data which includes the new department and none of that department's data is showing up following the load/transform process.  I'm not receiving any errors either.  Has anyone experienced this or has an idea of where I can look to resolve the issue?

Dear Community,Since I can create a weekly calendar using a customized Time Dim, what is the "Fiscal Year Month Type" such as Fixed week 4-5-4, 5-4-4 in the time profile used for? If it is used for fiscal year purposes, how can I see the impact? I tried to play around time profile, and it doesn't seem to impact anything. Please provide some ideas. Thank you

I am attempting to update the "text" property (which varies by time) for my UD1 members using a business rule that pulls data from a custom table. The update process works as expected without any issues. However, when I remove a data value from the table, OneStream removes the value from the text property, but the corresponding period remains selected, showing blanks (see Screenshot 2). I am removing the data value using the "Else" condition as shown below (Screenshot 1).Can anyone provide insights on how to also remove the period from the selection when there is no value? From a button-click, I want to open a different Dashboard, in a new tab (or just open it). It should be fairly straight forward, using: But if the Dashboard I want to open is not within the "Default" workspace, OR, if the Workspace that is hosting the Dashboard is not set to: the function does not work. Smart as I am, it should only be a matter of minutes to figure out the right combination, hereby prefixing the dashboard name with the Workspace name: XFPage=Dashboard:Current.MyDashboardName. But nope. Hopefully someone out there have the right combination to unlock level 2 to the Dashboarding Tour de Master. Cheers Frank
