I am trying to clear entered data from the particular Cube but unable to do so using "Clear Data" Rule. Can anyone suggest me the process to clear data from any cube without disturbing other cubes' dataset.

Hi All, I'm hoping someone can help. I'm trying to create a formula for a planning solution that calculates an average over a dynamic number of time periods but for hundreds of intersections. So essentially I somehow need a data buffer covering multiple time periods that I can then use in my over arching planning formula. The main thought was to loop through the time periods, which is fine, but I can't use an api.data.getdatacell because of the volume of intersections I want to calculate the average for. Is it possible to build up a data buffer in a loop? If only i could create a V#TrailingXmonthavg  formula where I can replace the X with a dynamic value. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Happy Labor Day!!How can I use BusinessRule.DashboardStringFunction, i.e. XFBR string business rules to extract text out of a datacell in cubeview that has users' text stored in V#Annotations?We have successfully used XFBR string business rules to extract amounts from datacell in cubeview. However, when I tried similar lines of XFBR code in my cubeview – I am not able to pull users’ text.It is returning zero. Users are putting text into CV cell that has this combination - A#Explaination:U8#Comment:V#Annotations . Is there any way to edit Transformation Rules in Bulk?When I try loading a trx file or xml code into the system it doesn't overwrite the rules which causes issues in someplace.Is there a way or a template where with direct upload I can delete that transformation group and create a new one with the same name. (Example- Dimension delete template where uploading a certain xml file directly deletes some dimension members)Thanks.

Can we use an aggregated UD1 with a dynamic calc member in the Flow dimension across two cubes?  We have dynamically calculated members called ‘AggDetail’ in Flow Dimension with a rule on member formulas which aggregate base UD1 by entity dynamically.  All our base cost centers (UD1) are in the Financial Detail cube in the dimension library and this ‘FinancialDetail’ cube is called out in the dynamic calc rule. However, we have recently added a new sub parent in flow dimension under the “Financial” cube and it seems like this dynamically calculated flow member “AggDetail” is not aggregating the result for this new sub parent from the Financial cube. This is kind of close critical and see if anyone knows how to solve this in OneStream. If you know the solution, please reply to me here as quickly as possible. Thank you

Was the OneStream product itself built using VB.Net? If so, I'm pretty impressed!! If it was built using C#, I'm wondering why customers are then forced to use VB.Net for business rules?  It seems like a double standard.  Is there a licensing reason why VB.Net is redistributed to customers while C# is not?  If it isn't about licensing then maybe onestream has internal BR tooling that is incompatible with C#, or third party tooling that is incompatible?  Any info would be appreciated.  Obviously the selection of either .net language it is a matter of choice ... but if OneStream picked C# for development of the product, then they should allow customers to pick C# as well for our business rules.

I am trying to push some data from a sql table back to the cube. I tried to use SetDataCellsUsingUsingCsvFile and SetDataCellsUsingMemberScript. Unfortunately, both function works for the Origin Forms but not Import. Could anyone kindly provide me with a working example? Thank you   Kai

Happy inflation and recession (aka layoffs) everyone <silly grin> How do you handle a sale of a division in your company to other corporations? For example:  We have a Division1 selling widgets. It is under a consolidation roll-up for external reporting purposes. After we sold it, we want to stop tracking its history of transactions, so we create another member in Entity dimension called Division1_sold, put it under a different 2nd roll-up in Entity dimension.  We need it to track and wrap up any costs/ revenue pertaining to Division1 that is no longer ours, and so we don't want to report nor consolidate it under the first roll-up.Is there a more elegant way to solve this problem?  I see that OneStream allows us to set up for each member (such as Division1) that has  a date when 100% consolidation begins and ends.Thank you for your advice. Hello, I am trying to have a member rule dynamically calculate and not consolidate to parent entities, which is working.  However, it also needs the member rule to override the summation of MTD to YTD.  I need the account to recalculate always.   i have a simple api.data.GetDataCell ("A#Account1 / A#Account2) I have the settings: account type: dynamically calculate formula type: dynamically calculate Is consolidated: Conditional is there something else i need to do?  thank you

Hi OneStreamers,   I am trying to build an XFBR which I will link to a CV Column, that will either "True" or "False" Depending on the value of a parameter.   However I am finding trouble returning the value. I am working on a cube view that will show balance sheet data for actualized months next to estimate months. I would like for my rows to reflect actual data for the months that have been actualized and then within the same row show my estimated future data for the estimate months.The difficult part I am running into is that I need to use a different UD4 for my estimate months in order to allow the ability to overwrite the estimated amount.I believe a business rule that would dynamically change the Scenario and UD4 would give me what I need.

To clear the data, you would need to put the children back under the parent, run a DM job to clear data that is for E#[YourTopParent].DescendantsInclusive and T#[YourApplicableYear].DescendantsInclusive and then force consolidate. This will clear the elimination data for the parent (but also the data for the children entities). Then, the parents can be deleted/removed as needed. Note: There is a pending update to the product to address this in a future release.

Hello OneStream Community;  I am trying to copy "Actual" Scenario to a "Plan" Scenario. the Plan Scenario uses Summary Account structure and the Actual Scenario uses a detail account structure which is a Extension of the Summary Account (so a base account member in the summary hierarchy used by Plan could be a parent in the detail account structure used by Actual).  I am using a member formula in the Scenario dimension as below, using the "Option" member filter so that only base accounts in the summary account structure used by the Plan scenario is copied over from Actuals. But this is not working, since only base accounts in both the Summary (Plan) & Detail (Actual) account structure is copied over, the parent accounts in the detail account structure in the Actual scenario are not copied over. Hi, when creating a Finance business rule, the proposed business rule template has a Main public function and a "Select case api.FunctionType" in it.   What is a FinanceFunctionType? And if I want to be able to call the business rule from a Data management step (execute business rule step), within which FinanceFunctionType should the code to execute be included?   Thank you
