Hi,We are using the following when we send out the automated email, and it works just fine. However is there a way to include the application name in the email? Reason being we would like the users (some who have access to Dev etc to be able to decipher from production application. BRApi.Utilities.SendMail(si, "OneStreamEmail", toEmail, "SAP Load Automation Errors in: " & gTime, "Please see the attachment for error details.", attachments)Thanks!
Hi there,I'm seeking assistance with a specific requirement. I need a business rule to operate as follows: upon initial execution, it should function normally. However, if a user attempts to run it again, there should be a designated wait time before the next execution. For instance, if I initiate the business rule at 16:00, it should not be possible to trigger it again until 19:00, ensuring a 3-hour interval. To implement this, I intend to leverage the Task Activity Log Start Time. I'm using OS 6.3Any guidance on achieving this would be greatly appreciated.
Hi All, For a client i've created a SQL script that generates a datatable that i want to save to a .csv file. This works as expected via BRApi.Utilities.SaveFileBytesToUserTempFolder(si, si.UserName, sFileName, fileBytes) From this location i can present the file to the user from the dashboard button that is generating the export. However, this file is big and the user settings (of some users) change the number formatting of the export. Therefore i want to export the file directly to the shared folder (which is easy for the user to access from the front end: I've tried all options within brapi.FileSystem but cannot find the proper syntax to save this file directly. The 'issue' is currently solved by storing this file in the user temp folder, then copying it over to the shared folder (via another article on this forum) but that touches the file twice so preferably i want to save the file directly from the fileBytes (that is a
Hello,Is there an event handler or dashboard extender rule that could be used to stop a user from completing a workspace if certain steps are not completed first? I have a workspace that needs to be completed, but only after the import, journals and certain forms are completed first. We don't want to lock the workspace, rather when they go click the "Complete Workspace" button it gives an error message that they need to finish the other steps first. Thank you!
I have application which has 47 entities and users who have Entity wise rights to upload TB/Reclass and Cube views. So far Admin is downloading TB manually (using view source document) by going through Entity. Now I want to download TB and Reclass files through some business rules (if possible to be schedule to run once in Month) or some procedure for all entities using user who has administrative privilege. Thanks all in advance for your help. Regards, Yashwant
I am trying to get the Text1 field value using a Business Rule and put this value in a cube view that is being used as Form. Does anyone have done this before? Is it possible to get the Text1 value from the Workflow Profile using BRApi? Thanks for the help.
Is there a setting on the component or even a business rule that allows you to uncheck/unselect/reset a combo box to its original state? I would like it to reset and check the top member or a default member. I don't want all parameters on my dashboard reset just a specific combo box with the click of a button.
Good afternoonI'm writing an extender rule to move some files within the application database file system and am using the following line of codeDim xffProcessData As New XFFile(xfiTargetDataInfo, String.Empty, xfeSource.XFFile.ContentFileBytes)I've highlighted the parameter that I am querying - if I hover over XFFile it says it is "xmldata As String". The process works fine in the example given, but I am curious what could be used in that xmldata parameter - what is it?Thank you!Craig
Hi,I have created a dashboard extender business rule that picks some CSV files from a server, save them in the File Share, extract some info from the file, then delete them. The issue I am having is to find the right folder to use to import and then delete the files.I initially used the Administrators folder in the File Share/Applications/Groups folder, but that folder is not visible to the not in the Administrators group, so the rule works fine for me but not for other users. Then I have tried using the Incoming folder, which let me import the files, but does not let me delete the files. Each folder in the File Share seems to have a different set of security properties, but that is not shown in the File Explorer. What is the purpose of each of the folders in the File Share (is each of them supposed to be used for a specific task?) and which one is better to use for my scope?Thank you
I am trying to get a stored value in Text1 from an Entity relationship:This is the code that at least does not give me an error when it executes but it does not return the Text1 value.Dim myScenarioID As Integer = brapi.Finance.Members.GetMemberId(si, DimType.Scenario.Id, "Actual")Dim myScenarioType As ScenarioType = BRApi.Finance.Scenario.GetScenarioType(si, myScenarioID)Dim myTimeID As Integer = BRApi.Finance.Time.GetIdFromName(si, "2021M6")Dim myEntityID As Integer = BRApi.Finance.Members.GetMemberId(si, DimType.Entity.Id, POVEntity)Dim myParentID As Integer = BRApi.Finance.Members.GetMemberId(si, DimType.Entity.Id, POVParent)' Get relationship Dim relationship As Relationship = BRApi.Finance.members.ReadRelationshipNoCache(si, DimType.Entity.Id, myEntityID, myParentID)' Get the propertiesDim memProperties As New VaryingMemberProperties( DimType.Entity.Id, myEntityID, myParentID )' Get the stored valueDim Text1Value As String = memProperties.GetEntityRelationshipProperties().Text1.G
Hello,Im wondering if there is a way to hardcode a fieldtoken value when loading data from a csv. For example, I am using the below code:Dim fieldTokens As New List(Of String)fieldTokens.Add("xfText#:[Account]")fieldTokens.Add("xfText#:[Entity]")fieldTokens.Add("xfText#:[Amount]")fieldTokens.Add("xfText#:[EmpID]") '<-- Want to hardcode this to '99999'BRApi.Utilities.LoadCustomTableUsingDelimitedFile(si, .......)But I want to hardcode the results of EmpID to value '99999' before I execute the 'LoadCustomTableUsingDelimitedFile' command. Any help on this would be much appreciated!
Hi, Is it possible to pop up a message to all the active users of an application through a business rule? When the data load starts, we want to pop up a message that the process as started. Ragav.
I currently have a UD8 that pulls the current timestamp anytime a user updates an intersection and it works just fine. The issue I am having is that when I run a calculation to push an amount to an intersection, there is no audit trail for that. Is there a table where this calculated audit information is stored? I haven't been able to find anything and I would think that OneStream should be able to track the audit trail of calculated members.
Hey,So I have built a flow to push data from one scenario to another by pressing a dashboard button which start a data management job that execute a extender business rule. The extender business rule is executing import, validate and load with the file created through the referenced data management export data step/sequence. The export data step is using a literal parameter in UD1 that is being set before pushing the dashboard button.Above UD1 selection makes it possible to only push/seed data to the other scenario for just a portion of the total data. Over time there will be up to 10 button executions to push all data in UD1 to target scenario. Everything works fine for me except replacing data in destination scenario/workflow. Currently I use .append in order to load all 10 UD1 areas to one import step in destination workflow/scenario. If the user in this case whould press the button for the same UD1 selection a second time, I would have the data twice. What I wou
Hi,I am in a custom business rule. I have a calculate formula like the following one, which works fine:api.Data.Calculate("A#Sales1 = A#Sales2 + 50”) Now let say I want to declare a variable instead of having the 50 typed in the formula string, and pass that to the Calculate, what is the correct syntax to do that? Is it possible?I would like to do something like this (the one below is not the correct syntax, but it gives an idea of what I am trying to do):Dim Growth As Decimal = 50api.Data.Calculate("A#Sales1 = A#Sales2 + Growth”) Thank you
Hi All, I have a combo box that is in the main dashboard called cb_OnMaindash. The combo box has a parameter linked to it (i.e., a bound parameter) this is delimited list parameter called dl_ComboBox_param. The display items (dash1, dash2, dash3, dash4) and value item (Dashboard_1, Dashboard_2, Dashboard_3, Dashboard_4). These value items are actual dashboard that I am trying to pull when ever a user selects a specific item from the combo box. Parametername: dl_ComboBox_paramparameter type: delimited listdisplay items: dash1, dash2, dash3, dash4value items: Dashboard_1, Dashboard_2, Dashboard_3, Dashboard_4Combo BoxName: cb_OnMaindash The issue is when i am testing this and select dash1 the dashboard is loaded but the item displayed on the combo box is wrong for example it would display Dash3 instead of Dash1. same thing if I were to select Dash2 and it will either display Dash1 or Dash3. it will only update the selected item if I click
Hello, I have a problem with a couple business rules running at the wrong times from within a dashboard. The background: I have a business rule that changes the formatting of the buttons on a dashboard to show which one was clicked last. The buttons function as "tabs," each linking to a report; the button linking to the currently selected report shows itself as highlighted. To do this, I have the name of the current active button stored in a literal parameter. When a button is clicked to launch a report, a business rule rewrites the value of this literal parameter. (An XFBR String rule then reads this parameter to determine how to format the buttons, and is output to button - formatting - display format). The problem: When I launch the dashboard from OnePlace, the highlighting works correctly, showing a set of buttons with the first button highlighted. When I click another button, the button works correctly by launching a report, but the first button remains highlighted. The li
Hi Team,I wanted to insert a text to data cell (for example 'Add comment'). Is it possible to be done by using api.data.calculate?This is how I see this:Dim Comment As String = "Add comment"api.data.calculate("V#Annotation:A#xxx:F#xxx:O#xxx:I#xxx:U1#xxx:U2#xxx:U3#xxx:U4#xxx:U5#xxx:U6#xxx:U7#xxx:U8#xxx=" & Comment) Thanks a lot!
Hi, I can't seem to find a method in the api that accepts a substitutionvariable object and returns the string value of that substitution variable. Or just get a dictionary of all predefined substitution variables and their values. Is this or something similar available?
We are trying to create a form with external vba code to refresh automatically once the onestream addin- refresh workbook.
hi,Am looking to trigger the Finance Business rule from the DM step.Below is my snippet , but the DM step is not triggering the finance BR . Thanks
This may be a long shot but I was wondering if there was any kind of functionality to have a message appear if you leave a dashboard page/try to close out of it. The use case is that I have a dashboard that has a button that is hitting when a conference call happens and it updates security groups so certain users can't make updates during the call. I have another button the user SHOULD hit when the call is done and this will put the security back to what it was originally. If the user of the dashboard forgets to hit that other button at the end of the call then the security never changes back. Was hoping to give a pop up message or something that forces the user to hit that end call button so the security goes back to what it was.
I'm getting the message "'Function GetLiteralParameterValue(si As SessionInfo, isSystemLevel As Boolean, parameterName As String) As String' is obsolete: 'This is a temporary function used by Marketplace Solutions for backwards compatibility with old XF versions. Please change your code to use supported functionality.'." Anyone know what object & method should I be using instead? strSomeString = BRApi.Dashboards.Parameters.GetLiteralParameterValue(si,Nothing,"pm_SomeParameter")
Is it possible to update the Application Security roles with in an extender Business rule? I want to be able to update the Modifydata role with the push of a button.
I would like to create a derivative transformation rule that will add _Qty to the end of the Account and pull the ActualQuantity field from the data source as the Amount. My DataSource has a field for ActualQuantity.I have a Derivative Rule that looks like this:The complex expression on the derivative rule is:this returns 0 instead of the amount in the ActualQuantity field. Thank you in advance.
