Hi, I'm trying to understand the best way to add annotations and comments in OneStream to explain variances. Last week at splash I was advised to use V#Annotation or V#VarianceExplanation. But what I'm confused about is how do you actually get it connected to the calculated variance (red box), versus only being able to connect it so the actual reported number (yellow box). Right now I'm using a get data formula in my quick view to calculate the variance (GetDataCell(S#Actual-S#AOP):Name(Variance)).What are other people doing when trying to provide commentary on variances? Whats the best way to use this view?
I am using a Cube View (IS) within a dashboard. The client does not want users to be prompted with parameters for selecting Entity, Time, or View. Instead, they expect these dimensions to be driven automatically by the Workflow Point of View While I’ve successfully applied WF Time and View dimensions in the CV to align with the Workflow POV, I’m encountering an issue with the Entity dimension. It does not respond to the Workflow POV such sd WF, WFProfile, etc.. I either have to hardcode it, or use the Parmeter. Can I create a parameter that does not prompt a user make a selection?
I have some users who can't see the Map Transformation Report under the Application Reports. I have check their POV (looks correct), can't find anything under Dashboard security. Anyone have any suggestions as to why they can view some but not all the application reports? The POV appears to be set properly and they can view the transformation rules other ways, so I don't think it's a security setting. At a lost, has anyone encountered this?
I am trying to build a quick view where the Member Filter refers to a parameter but E#|!prm_Entity!| produces this error in Excel: #ERROR - The member filter contains unresolved parameters.
Is it possible to create a dynamic calc UD8 dimension, that then filters down the members on the Account dimension at a base level? (and if so, how?) For example, within the Account dimension, I have Member A, Member B, Member C and Member D.Can I create UD8 dimensions of "Group 1" and "Group 2" where if Group 1 is selected, it filters down Account to only show Member A and Member B. And if I choose Group 2, it filters Account to only include Member C and Member D. I know this can be accomplished with an alternate hierarchy on the Account dimension but just checking to see if this can be done alternatively. Thanks in advance!
Hi Team,I have scenario where the data is already loaded to system and now i just want to upload comments for that data. How we can achieve this to upload the comments only not entire data again with comments.Thank you..!!
Hello,Is it possible to add dynamic calcs (UD8 member) into an XF doc powerpoint? I am trying to create an XFCELL that uses a variance member in UD8. However, I keep getting 0 as the value. Also, is there a way for a user to see the settings/parameters once an XFdoc is downloaded from OS? I saw an example in GolfStream, but it's only the final document (or appears to be).Thank you!
HowdyI want to apply a Zero Suppression Threshold (of 1,000) in a Cube View for a specific column. However, the Account in my column is a Dynamic Calc. The suppression isn't working at all, can someone confirm if Zero Suppression Threshold is only available for Stored Data?If it is only available for Stored Data, is my best option to use a Member Formula instead of a Dynamic Calc? I've tried using Cube View Math as well but I get the same result as using a Dynamic Calc. Thanks in advance
Hi everyone!I am working with a Pivot Grid dashboard item in the BI Viewer. I am investigating about the possibility of formatting the Excel export of this component. Currently, the exported file does not retain the formatting applied within the BI Viewer, resulting in a very non-user-friendly layout, with fixed column widths. Are there any options available?Any insights will be highly appreciated! :) Thank you!Have a nice day,Andra
Hi,Is there a keyboard shortcut (like CTRL + R) to refresh the page in data explorer? We have reports which runs with parameter and we would like to know if there is any keyboard short cut to call parameter pop pup or refresh page?
Hi all, I am implementing Guided Reporting into our workflows. The entity parameter I have is a member list looking up E#Root.WFProfileEntities. The cube view is a pretty standard balance sheet, with row and column sets. I have embedded it into the workflow, so that users can come in and use their reporting for the specific entities. The issue I have is that whenever I open the balance sheet and set the rows and columns, the cube view always defaults to the Group Parent entity, even if the WF profile has different assigned entities. I change workflow, and it still shows the parent entity. It's only when I change the entity manually from the GR parameter button that it refreshes. Any idea how to link the entity button to set the cube view upon first run? Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe there is a BR that I can build? Thanks!
hi team, I hope you are well. I'm creating a book with Word and PowerPoint files but the Powerpoint shows an error and the parameters are the same in both files: If I select the file on OnePlace is running opening PowerPoint application. here is the error: Value cannot be null. (Parameter 'buffer'). Hi Team, How does XFGetMemberProperty works in Excel AddIn? The fields in the formula I have are - MemberNameorScript PropertyName VaryByCubeTypeName VaryByScenarioTypeName VaryByTimeorTimeDimProfileName I want to pull the properties for Text 1 to Text 8 from OneStream Production for Entity, for different Time Periods like Default, 2023, 2024 and 2025. Now the properties I pulled at Default are giving correct result. But when trying to pull at year level like 2023, 2024 and 2025, I am not getting the correct data. It is only showing the data present at Default. But in OneStream Prod, I do have data in 2023, 2024 and 2025 for the Text Tags. In my formula, I was setting VaryByTimeorTimeDimProfileName = "2023". And so on for 2024 and 2025I am getting the same thing for XFGetMemberPropertyVolatile formula as well. In OneStream my year values are stored in 'Stored Property Value' Can someone please help me here ?
After having read a lot of this superb forum to discover OneStream, I'd like to ask you my first problem that I haven't managed to solve. I'd like to forecast sales for month M in relation to actual sales for month M-1 (if imported), or alternatively the M-1 budget, to which will be added management sales. If I perform this calculation in the view cube of the child entity, it replaces the actual M-1 with the budget when the actual M-1 does not exist (not imported). If I perform this calculation at parent entity level, entities with no M-1 actual are shown at €0 and not at the amount of their budget. I therefore end up with a sales figure that has been reduced by the number of companies that did not report sales in M-1. In my forecast calculation UD7, I was thinking of looping through each base member so that the condition calculation (if the actual is absent then takes the budget, otherwise takes the actual) so that the forecast sales figure displayed corresponds to the sum of the indiv
Hi everyone, I'm currently working on a Cube View and would love some help with setting up conditional formatting based on a comparison between two columns. Specifically, I’m trying to highlight in red any cell in the “Actuals” column (Actual CPK @ ACT 2024 rate, Jan 2024) where the value is greater than the corresponding value in the “Cost per kg” column. To give you a clearer picture, I’ve attached a screenshot showing the layout I’m working with. The "Cost per kg" values are budgeted figures, and I'm comparing them to actuals from 2024 to identify any overages. I’d like the Cube View to visually flag these instances, so they stand out during reviews. Of course, the numbers in both columns are exemplary. In the rows I have different Entities. Has anyone done something similar or can guide me on the best way to achieve this? Thanks so much in advance for your support!
Hi All.Is there a way to exclude entities that do not have a Text1 from the following? E#XFMemberProperty(DimType=Entity, Member=|!PerformPnL_Entity!|, Property=Text1).Base or E#XFMemberProperty(DimType=Entity, Member=|!PerformPnL_Entity!|, Property=Text1) Since I have that in my data management and it shows an error if it does not find Text1, I need to exclude those that do not have Text1
Hi, I am building out a Trend report by year and by product, so I have Jan-Dec along the columns, and then 2022-2025 for each product type by row. My problem is that because i'm viewing this in V#Periodic, when I run the report for March 2025, April's balance shows up as the negative YTD balance for 2025. Is there any kind of conditional formatting I can use that says something like "If the intersection of month and year in the cube view (in this case, April 2025) is larger than the Time POV parameter selected when you run the report (March 2025), then change the text color to White so it doesn't show up?
Hello all,I've written a Member Filter Builder on A#IncomeStatement.Base.Where(AccountType Contains Revenue). A second one for Expense too. I am now trying to sum those rows and cannot seem to get the math logic to render. Any advise out there - what am I missing or not considering? Columns are Entities, not row/column sharing, and the number of rows are extensive.I've tried the following and cannot seem to get it right:GetDataCell(CVR([TB_Rev])):Name(Total Revenue)GetDataCell(A#IncomeStatement.Base.Where(AccountType Contains Rev):NameThanks in advance for your help,
Hi, we have a custom member filter in a cube view (i.e. E#Root.CustomMemberList(BRName=X, MemberListName=Y)), and it seems to disable row suppression. In other words, the cube view brings back all filtered members in rows, regardless if there is data, even when the row suppression settings are set.Has anyone else experienced this and can confirm/deny? And if so, is there a way around it? We based architecture on CustomMemberList following the same rules as any other member filter.Jon
Hi guys,I need to create a pie chart on a report component (under dashboard), but this pie chart has the particularity that, instead of showing up the labels of the data presented in the chart itself, i need to show the Total Amount inside the pie. The achieve this, i wanted to add an XF label taking the total from the cube, but when i set the label over the chart then i have the error "The control is overlapped". Do you have any workaround / solution to allow the controls, in particular the labels, overriding a chart?note: ok under preview that works, but at the end i need to use this report component in a docx file (with narrative reporting) - that's blocking me to use the report. Thanks a lot in advance,Regards,Florence
Hi I linked several cube views into Excel with the settings below (Version 8.4.0). I then created some basic formulae within the cube views. E.g. = C25. The Excel formula is retained by the first cube view but in the other cube views it is moving up 4 rows on each refresh. The Cube View Connection options are the same in each one. I have tried selecting/deselecting the insert/delete rows & columns and including/excluding the header. The cube views all have some rows with a specific account and at least 1 row that uses “.Base”. Has anyone come across this before? Thanks. Robert
Hello,I need to create a pie chart in a report component (under dashboard). So i created a very simple cube view with 2 elements of the UD1 dimension, and 1 column showing up an account. With this cube view, I created a data adaptor, with Command Type = Cube View and Data Table Per Cube View Row = False; when I open the data adaptor then I can see the correct data, with 2 rows and 2 amounts then. Now, when I create a report component and add a pie chart on it, the pie chart appears properly and as expected (2 pieces in the pie, for each UD1) but it appears twice ! And twice the exact same pie! Any idea from where/which setting this is coming from please? I am struggling in finding it.. Thanks in advance,Florence
Hi,I have a classique cubeview that uses !prm_entity! as Entity POV.When using classic Dashboards, everything works as expected. When converting the dashboard from "Embedded" to "Embedded Dynamic" and using a simple Factory service to add the template cubeview stored component, nothing more: then the !prm_entity! POV of the cubeviews seems not interpreted at run time, no prompt showup and this cubeview displays a blank page. When checking cube POV we can see parameter is handled like a string in the POV.Any idea what basic setting i am missing to do in the Dynamic Dashboard way to let OS prompt for the prm_entity parameter value? Thanks in advance,

Hi, Is there a way to open a dashboard within the same page of a dashboard by clicking a button in OneStream? Thanks
