We are in the process of changing our chart of accounts and department structure (for us, UD3 and UD1, respectively).  Further complicating things is that some of the old UD3/1 members will likely be consolidated into one UD3/1 member, and vice versa.  We will need to keep the existing data in its original intersections (e.g if UD3#ABC changes to UD3#123, we need the historical data to stay in UD3#ABC).  Or do we? We currently map each of our 3 different GLs* in UD3 to accounts in the A# dim which is at the P&L/BS level.  Has anybody out there done this before?  What approach did you take?  Can we simply create new transformation rules and somehow reference the old ones for historical data?  Do we simply create a new hierarchy in UD3 for the new members (bloat?)? If so, how do we reference them in dashboards and cube views that compare past and present data?  I have so many questions as to the best or simplest way to do this.  Bonus poin

Hi all,while building new classes inside a Workspace's Assembly, I'd like to get Strings in specific languages.On components, we use "XFString(<stringName>)" to get the localized string, in the User's language.How can I accomplish the same thing inside a method ? I mean, which is the equivalent for XFString inside - let's say - BRApi ? Or should I really get the localizations from the DB Table ? Thanks for Your helpRegardsFabioG

Hi all,I'm in trouble in using an XFBR from an Assembly, inside a Data Adapter.I've just discovered that it's possible to use the XFBR function as part of a SQL Command, like this:SELECT * FROM MyTable WHERE MyField = 'XFBR(MyBR, MyFunction, Param1=|!prm_Whatever!|)'I was surprised to see it working, but this is not the point.When MyBR is defined as a Business Rule, everything isworking fine.Then I moved the Business Rule into a Service XFBR. Since the Factory is defined at Workspace level, I converted the query as:SELECT * FROM MyTable WHERE MyField = 'XFBR(WS, MyFunction, Param1=|!prm_Whatever!|)'Directly testing the Data Adapter everything works fine, I can see the converted query and also the results.Now, the problems:The above mentioned Data Adapter is used by a Report. Currently i am working on NR reporting, i have created extensible documents with cube views, those cube views has parameters Is there a way where we can supply the cube view parameters, in doc variable? i have tried to apply parameters in book and document section in NR but that is not working. Hi. Is it possible to make annotations in the UD1 dimension and have them roll up to the respective legal entity (at consolidated level)?A challenge I'm facing is that only specific base members under the UD1 dimension reference the legal entity in the text field. How can I manage this so that only the relevant regions (that reference legal entities) contribute to the commentary at the consolidated level?

Is it possible to have a Scenario Type with a 5 year input frequency?I need to be able to load 5 years at once instead of having to change the wf year 5 times.is it possible?

I created a detail account dimension without creating a summary account dimension first.  When I attempt to create a summary account dimension now, I get an error message indicating the member already exists.  I tried to delete the detailed dimension and start over but there is already data saved.  How can I correct this?

Hi! Is there a way to extract the entity structure without constraints? In the current entity structure, every entity has a different UD1 constraint, but I need this to be set to Root for all entities when loading it in the other application. I know in Notepad++ you can use find/replace to modify this, but because every entity has a different UD1 constraint, it is still quite a manual process. Wondering if there is a more efficient way. Hi all! How can I wrap V#Annotation text in a column? Right now the reporting is not the most user friendly so we're wondering how to show it better. I am very new to the industry and OneStream and I really need some help to kick start my application building journey!Currently, I am trying to test out the capabilities of OneStream using the scenario stated below:I have one central division that will split into two 'teams'. For example, Division_1 and Division_2, both teams have handle their own projects. For example, for D_2, under Project 50A there are mini projects like 50A001 and 50A002. For D_1, under the same project 50A, they handle other projects like M0001 and M0002.So what I am trying to achieve is: Tracking their expenses, so they will roll up to the central Division. E.g. Division 1, project 50A, spent $1,000, Division 2, project 50A spent $1,500. So the rolled up amount would be $2,500 and the ability to breakdown to the specific items.If possible (which it is) Division 1 handle projects that are "Approved" so the expenses are actual. How can I get xfgetcell formula to not pull in the next month as a negative? i am making a YTD file and currently have Jan and Feb number but march pulls in the YTD amount but negative and causes the ytd amount to be $0. 

Depending on the circumstances, you could find yourself into a situation where you need to report numbers on Extended dimension Members from the Top Consolidation Cube. In a Vertical Extensibility Cube set up this gets tricky since the data is only available at the lower cube levels. To work-around this challenge (considering the limitations exposed below), I have created a dynamic calculation Business Rule that allows you to achieve that by leveraging a specific UD8 Dynamic calculation Member.    Following it is an overview of the Solution:  Problem Statement: When using Cube Vertical Extensibility, reporting from Tot Group cube is not possible for those dimensions that have been extended. HI, I am looking for an option to highlight text value in the cube view based on some condition. I have combo box which has parameter which pulling value from one of the DIMMember 1 = United States Member 2 = Canada Member 2 = Not filled If its not filled then I want to highlight red. Is there any option. I tried using XFBR but seems like it run on specific data unit only

When we take an XML extract of an application with Cube Views built within Workspaces and load into a fresh application there are Cube View groups for each of the Workspace groups on the main Cube View screen/in the Default Cube Views. It is essentially making a second copy of all the Workspace Cube Views in Default. Some Data Adapters are then linking to the new Cube Views copies in Default that did not exist in the original application the XML was taken from. Has anyone else seen this behavior? Is this a known bug - doesn't seem like expected behavior?   

Hello, I have a weird behaviour when defining dynamically the dashboard layout. If I define dynamically the dashboard layout to be either a vertical stack panel, horizontal stack panel, or uniform, then all of my components render as expected. However, if I want to define them as grid (3 rows, 2 columns), then nothing is rendered. I did use (in that order, if that has any consequences) : contant DashboardLayoutType.Grid property GridLayoutDefinition.RowDefinitions as a list of xfgridlayoutrowdefinition property GridLayoutDefinition.ColumnDefinitions as a list of xfgridlayoutcolumndefinition The logs are telling me that the dashboard indeed is now a grid with 3 rows and 2 columns, however all of my components are not rendered in the dashboard. Being a grid : Being a vertical stack panel, horizontal stack panel, or uniform :   I do know that a grid is intepreted differently as a XAML grid class but I have no clue why it wouldn't be rendered with my components in it. Hi everyone; we have an application using standard elimination, we have been used eliminations between balance account and P&L accounts, I created a new account in Balance sheet accounts with plug account as Assets, create another P&L account (Revenue) using the same plug Asset account; now when runs the consolidation & Eliminations, there is a difference with balance, is unbalancing. Hello, I can find no documentations about the "GetDynamicAdaptersForDynamicComponent" that is under the dynamic dashboard services. How to use it ? How to define a dynamic adapter ? My goal is to create dynamically a label component (which is done), but I would like to add a data adapter to it. I'm currently using the Narrative Reporting MarketPlace Solution on OS version 8.4 and have successfully integrated Cube Views, Content, and other artifacts using QuickParts. However, I'm facing several challenges:Member Prompts on Report Checkout/Edits: Despite configuring parameters at both the report and report group levels, I continue to receive member prompts from the cube view every time I check out or modify a report. This differs from the expected behavior in guided reporting and dashboards, where parameters are supplied automatically. Is this expected, or is there a workaround to prevent these prompts?

Hey Folks, I am looking to map all validation errors that might occur during an automated load to a placeholder member in the UD1 dimension, but i am running into issues as the mask rule approach is not working. Does anyone else have any other way to make this work? Below is what i have tried but i still get kickouts in the validation step of the load process.    

Hello, Our transformationeventhandler rule adds missing UD1 members to an unmapped parent.The rule works and has been for a few months. A couple of weeks ago I built a business rule which leverages the utitlity "ExecuteFileHarvestBatch".I have the relevant settings as True. Dim valTransform As Boolean = TrueDim valInterest As Boolean = TrueDim loadCube As Boolean = TrueDim processCube As Boolean = True The batch rule was built so I could schedule the data load.What I am noticing, is when the scheduled job (which calls a DM job with the rule) runs there are failures because of missing UD1 members.If I, then run the import/validate/Load and Process steps manually there are no errors and the missing UD1 members get added. It is as if the TransformationEventHandler is not being executed when the import process runs via the scheduler/dm job/rule. Any ideas for suggestions of where to look?
