Hi, the OneStream XF design and reference guide mentions that: "If an administrator wants the range of source Accounts from 11202 to 11209 to map to Account 12000, then he/she would enter 11202~11209 under Rule Expression with ~ as the separator."   What if the Accounts in the range have leading or trailing characters? Let say all my accounts start with A_ I have tried to use the the following expression: A_11202~A_11209, but it does not seem to work. Any suggestion? Thank you  

I thought I knew how to solve this but it is not working as expected. We are trying to prevent a Child Group of users called "App_Administrators" from changing System Security. We want them to be able to still 'view' security roles, groups, and users -- just not be able to make any changes. The Group called App_Administrators is a child group in the Administrators Group (which is needed because we want application administrators to be able to run OSD System Snapshots on demand). Since the child group is part of Administrators, we thought all we needed to do was create an Exclusion Group that effectively takes App_Administrators back out of Administrators and apply it to the ManageSystemSecurity roles (there are three of them). After creating the Exclusion Group and applying it to the following Roles  ManageSystemSecurityUsers,  ManageSystemSecurityGroups,  ManageSystemSecurityRoles, we found that the security group App_Administrators members could still modify security

I'm trying to add several non-financial accounts for metrics.  I've loaded my historical data in at periodic.  I want to be able to see the annual totals by account but instead T#2023 is showing me the December numbers and not the total.  What am I doing wrong?!

Hi, How does it work the C#Aggregated? What entity property does it take into account for aggregating? We are aggregating two different entity structures but we are not obtaining the same data. We have the same entities in both structures but one of the has duplicated two entities: - one of them aggregates OK. - the other, does not. Regards,

Hello, I have imported data from a csv file with unit price adjustments. Data is transformed to use the correct UD2, UD5 with One to one transformation. In some cases there should be a second data record created with a different UD2 and UD5, is it possible to do that with a complex expression, or should I make a calculation after import in business rule or with a member formula? kind regards Ben

Hi everyone, I have a question related to the upload of a new dimension hierarchy through an XML file. I currently have a file excel with the whole hierarchy for each dimension that I keep updating based on my client requests. I noticed that when I upload the file, the system merges the current version of the hierarchy with the previous one. This does not work for me because I would need the old hierarchy to be replaced by the new one.  A possible solution could be to manually delete the hierarchy members before the upload of the new hierarchy, but this would delete the data that has been loaded already. I would need a solution to just overwrite the current relationships between the members of the hierarchy without deleting them. Is there a way to do that? Thanks in advance!

Hi OneStream Community - I'm trying to create a rule to apply a specific % to the base entities of a specific region. To keep it simple, say we have 5 regions and I want to create an account that takes their PBBIT and multiplies it by a % that is different for each region, and I want it to calculate it at the base entity level, of that region. Hello, You can add a sample file in OS for a delimited or fixed data source type.I cannot find where to find it in OS database in base64. I had a look at the [ParserLayouts] table, but i can now find anything more...Do you know where it is hiding?Thanks

Hi OneStream Community, I hope you are all doing well. I am currently working on a project where I need to create a dropdown in a specific cell within the OneStream SQL Editor, and the values for this dropdown should be dynamically based on the value of another input parameter. Here's the situation: The SQL Editor only accepts delimited list parameters. I need to dynamically populate this delimited list parameter based on the value selected in another input parameter. For example, if the user selects a country from the first parameter, the second parameter (the dropdown) should display a list of cities from that selected country. I am struggling to find a way to dynamically feed a delimited list parameter based on the value of another input parameter. Could someone please guide me on how to achieve this? Any help, examples, or pointers to relevant documentation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

We are on V8.2.2 Cloud and we need to change the Zip File Protection settings. ManageSystemConfiguration is enabled so we can change the settings. The Installation and Configuration guide mentions Zip File Protection settings after Task Activity. Task Activity is there but no Zip File Protection section: Anyone know where they are or do I have raise a ticket with support? Thanks    

Hi All, We are implementing some updates to the security model in our application, and we are coming across some unfamiliar territory, so we're looking for some input. We are using OneStream version 7.2.4. We are trying to prevent the user from seeing data for certain Flow members based on information in the Text1 value of the Flow member. Because we don't want the user to be able to see the data for certain Flow members, we decided to use Data Access Security on the cube, with the idea being that if the user tried to access data they weren't supposed to see, it would return "No Access" in the cell. However, the Text1 values for the Flow members vary based on the scenario and time, so we aren't able to use a simple member expansion formula in the Data Access Member Filter, like F#ParentMember.Base.Where(Text1 Contains 'Valid'). We couldn't get XFBRs to work either, leading us to use a Member List BR. We determined that we can get the Data Access security to call the Member List BR... b

Hi, we see some of our automated tasks cancelled by the system (e.g. task status = Cancelled by System in task activity) every now and again, and don't really understand why this occurs. Can someone shed some light on why this happens and how to prevent it?Thanks!Alex

Hello OneStream Expert: We are going to to convert one Hyperion Planning application to OneStream Application. In Hyperion application we have SmartList type of Datatype, for example we have an Account Member call  Display_Flag 1, Yes 2. No In web form, it will display Yes or No and data will be saved to Essbase as 1 or 2. But I cannot find the SmartList type of Datatype in OneStream for me to display Yes or No in the Cubeview. I wonder what kind of solution can be applied. Thank you in advance.

Good Day All: What table would contain the intercompany rule profile.  I see source value and target value in the grid.  But I want to see all mapping. On target value, I just see entity name, how do I confirm accounts (A#)? Thanks, Steve P.

I'm trying to better understand the best process for moving large Dev dimension changes from to Prod.  I've extracted my Dev and Prod Metadata and have it in the Dimension Comparision utility.  Now I know my differences which I have changes in Prod that aren't in my Dev and of course vice-versa.   I'm looking for feedback, do you edit the xml file or make some changes in Dimension portion of Onestream and re-extract.  The best practices process is what is stumping me or is the answer "it depends"

How can I edit my GLOBAL POV?  

We are implementing a consolidation solution where customer will need the ability to analyze data by each Project. Currently they have 12000 projects, and the list grows every year/month. Some Projects may deprecate however we need to retain them to maintain history. Is it advisable to setup 12000 Project members in the cube considering the potential to grow every month? Appreciate any advice to solve this requirement.    

Hi,  We are thinking of implementing People Planning module. As this has been floated as plug-n-play solution, we want to see if we can build it ourselves or build majority of it. What is the best way to know more about it? I see some documentation but is it good idea to download the People Planning module and look at the design of that? We have GolfStream demo but not sure if it has latest version of People planning. Any info on this is appreciated.   Thank you, PM

Hello, When we configure a linked CV from a source CV and that we input and save something in this linked CV, by default when we close this pop up window, updated or added data does not show in original CV. We need to manually refresh the source CV to see update of input done in linked CV. Does anyone know of a way to automate the refresh of the source CV upon closing the linked CV's pop up window? Seems I have found a bug, not sure if this is the right place to get it solved. We have a calculation where we use text3 on the customer, which is the country code to find the freight rate on the country customer with that name. In the latest forecast the calculated numbers were lower than expected. While checking there is no value calculated for customers with text IN, Indian customers. The Cubeview I created now to check gives below message: Text in the Cubeview is: U3#39939, U3#30612, U3#Customer.base.Where(Text3 = 'IN'), I tried also Text3 startswith IN and Text3 = IN, all give the same message. When I change to IT (for Italy), there is no error. Somehow IN is invalid for this purpose it seems. Any idea how to solve, I can give it a different text, but would not be consistent.   Thanks in advance Ben

hello team, new in OS , i need help if someone works on this tool.i am wondering if there is an equivalence of the hfm functionality "org by period" in OS ?is it possible in OS to manage the structure on a “Time sensitive” basis, and to have effective dates for changes ? i am aware that it's possible to do the changes of % of ownership or even change of type of ownership (full Conso, equity...) by period but am wondering if it will be possible if a change of the parent of the entity and having two hierarchies existing on the same cube/app thank you in advance
