Workflow and Data Integration

When I pull a flat file from an SFTP server, I have been parsing that file in VB .net into a Data Table and loading it that way.  Is this the best way to do this, or is there a way to make the Import read the file from the filesystem once it has been downloaded?  I feel like parsing a csv file using Split() is risky. Thanks,Scott

I´ve setup a process, confirm and certify workflow steps on the Base input workflow profile and I would like to setup automated run of this and email notifications for the confirmation results. Does anyone have an example of business rule for this? I expect it is different then the general one used for automating imports.

Hi Community, Does anyone have experience with integration between OneStream and Microsoft Fabric? Please share your comments and a potential connect.  Thanks  Rajnish

I've read somewhere that there is a Postman collection for the Rest API.  I am just getting started with it and was hoping someone had one already set up. Thanks,Scott

Hi,I have installed the solution 'Application reports' in my application.I have added the report WF_ImportDetail_AccountMapping_RPTAR to my workflow by using a form template. When I click on the report in the workflow i am getting a pop-up screen for a parameter. The report should automatically use WF Profile, WF Scenaro en WF time. How do I set that up? John

Hi Dears,Could anyone please provide me the practical steps to Integrate the MS SQL DB to OneStream.we are at presently testing with the data integration to learn the integration. Kindly provide the real time steps which can workOnestream - On-prem enviSQL DB - Local hostregards,BCG

(SQL Error Number -2146232060, -2, 0, 3621). The wait operation timed outThis happened after running Load and Transform for one of my import workflows. Any idea what's causing this? It stops at the PostFileArchives stage:

Has anybody been able to create a database connection to the QAD ledger system to import data to OneStream?  We are having a nasty time getting SQL to pull from it.

We're transitioning to TCPS - Port 2484 from TCP - Port 1521. I have no issues connecting via TCP, but have issues connecting via TCPS. Does OneStream support TCPS connectivity? Can't locate any documentation about this.

Hi All,Just curious if anyone has had success pulling data (SQL) from D365's Asset Ledger to get the continuity / movements for Fixed Asset accounts?  In other words, it would provide the Flow movements like Additions and Disposals for the Fixed Asset accounts to justify the change in the Balance Sheet account balance.Has anyone ever successfully done this, specifically using SQL from D365?Thx,Mike

Hi everyone, Just hoping for a few pointers in case others have come across this before... I have a "Group Overlay" workflow set-up specifically to post central adjustments at year-end (for tax purposes mostly). It works fine as it has a specific workflow channel assigned meaning that the group tax team can review numbers submitted by businesses after they have been completed and then overlay group adjustments without having to unlock/uncertify the indiviudal workflows. However, I want to be able to run confirmation rules within this group adjustment workflow. I haven't got this working, here are some of the things I've found. Has anyone else done something similar? If so I would welcome your ideas! - The adjustment workflow has no entities assigned to it, but it does have "Can load to unrelated entities" option ticked" to allow adjustments to any entity in the group - Because there are no assigned entities, the normal confirmation rule logic needs some tweaking I think as there are no

I'm building a Data Management step to export data, and I need to set the time filter dynamically. For example, if the scenario is Budget_Final_FY26, the export should include 5 years of data: the current year, plus current year +1 through current year +4.The challenge is that I don’t see a way to directly use “current year” in the time filter. My idea is to substitute the time filter with an XFBR string that pulls the current year and applies it dynamically.Has anyone implemented something similar, or is there a recommended approach for handling this?

We have several applications calling OneStream data adaptor via Rest API. Very frequently and randomly the connection fails with a 500 error. If we wait and retry the connection is successful. We have not been able to find the root cause.  We observed that when the Rest API has 2 entries in the Log Activity table in OneStream the connection is successful. The screen shot is from the Logon Activity table in OneStream. Every so often the connection fails with a HTTP 500 Error and we observed that only one the set is entered in the table. Have any of you encountered this type of issue.

Hi Folks, We're just starting on a OneStream SaaS implementation to replace HFM. We're far from the stage of actively working on any data integrations yet but I'm already starting to think about how things will hang together and how data will potentially flow in the future state of things. Two of the downstream feeds that we currently receive in our HFM system are companies which are current users of OneStream SaaS. Just thinking at a very high level for now, does anyone know if there are any ways downstream systems could submit data to us without punching out to the internet e.g. using Azure Private Link service and staying within the Microsoft network (or some other networkey magic)? High level pretty picture :) Obviously we wouldn't be able to configure this ourselves as this is SaaS but I'm interested to hear if anyone else has any experience exploring this or anything similar with OneStream SaaS and if anything like this is even possible in the SaaS world. Regards Craig

Hi all,I have an Import, Validate, Load workflow that hasn't been used for a while. I'm trying to load in data and I'm getting invalid intersections at the validation stage with the following error message:"Data Cell is read-only because Parent Workflow Profile 'Workflow Name' has no active Input Profiles for the Workflow Channels that are assigned to the Data Cell's Account and/or UD member. Entity = Entity, Account=Volume, Origin=Import"Note I've use italics instead of using our entity names and workflow names. We didn't have this issue before so I'm not sure what has changed. The parent workflow profile stated in the validation message isn't actually the parent workflow profile so I'm totally confused. There is another post on this but I didn't understand the resolution. Could somebody please tell me what I would need to do to fix this? Thanks!

I am trying to determine if we are using any REST APIs. We were instructed to run a logonandreturncookie via Postman.https://documentation.onestream.com/1384528/Content/PDFs/REST_API_Implementation_Guide.pdf I followed the instructions in page 26 and ran into this error message: Error: Invalid character in header content ["Authorization"] I entered "{{webapi_access_token}}", similar to the screenshot in page 27. I hovered over the token and saw a message stating it's not defined.   Where should I set up this variable or is there an issue with my params/body?

hello we're implementing people planning. due to data privacy concerns, we wanted restrict admins accessing the workflow. is it possible to trigger email as soon as workflow is accessed?

Hi,not sure if anyone came across with this one but thought it was interesting to shareIf you have a file which has in the same line amount and annotation you can set View to YTD (or periodic), then in the text value complex expression use this api prop:api.Parser.TextValueRowViewMember = "Annotation"That will make the parser to automatically generate the line(s) with the annotation if text value have a value.HTH

Hi Everyone, I was recently working within a Demo Environment where I suddenly started getting error message when trying to access the import step in the Load and Transform (Import) step in the Import Workflow.  The Error above pops up every time anyone tries to access the Load and Transform (Import) step. Have anyone seen this issue before and knows how to fix it? NOTE: This issue is the same across all applications in this environment.  Thanks, Hamza

Hi,is there a way how to apply composite rule on filled value only? If I use U8#* it takes every record filled or not.My intention is to use another rule behind this one to fill default value for blank source.

We need your help to Import flat files:1. Number of Rows: > 100k2. Organized under E# Parent Members: a few thousands3. E# is extended We've been fortunate to be advised to build a BR to generate a one-to-one Transformation Rule file.- E# Parent to its first E# Base Is it possible for you SMEs to be generous enough to share with us/Community:- a sample BR to look up its first E# Base Member of an E# Parent Member- under extended E#- how to call that BR in an Import Workflow Thank you, OS SMEs.

We have been tasked with importing a file that has a large number of variable columns. For the sake of easy explanation, let's say the first five columns are standard (time, entity, ud1, ud2, ud3) but the file could have from 50 to 150 additional columns, one for each account. If there is no data for the account, there is no column for it. New accounts could appear in the future without warning. No, we don't have the ability to change the format of the report. (Oh, how I wish.) I have thought up several ways of making this work but each is fraught with its own type of peril. Create a new, custom table dynamically to stage the data. Parse the column names from the file. Use the column name list to run a new SQL query to unpivot. Parse the file in-memory to manually unpivot by parsing each data column and adding rows to a datatable, then returing the full data table. Maintain a list of the columns we care about the most, parse the file in advance and save the column name/position maps t

Use case: You generated several journal lines in Excel. You saved it as a CSV file, and the upload to OneStream failed. Here’s how to clean it up and get it posted.1) Paste your raw lines into Excel: Paste your raw journal lines into column A as above.Go to Data → Text to Columns → Delimited → Comma → Finish. You should now see the first column as H and the next two as D, D, with each field in its column.2) Clean the values (common blockers)ConsName must be a valid Consolidation member in your app (e.g., Entity or Local).Leave ParentName blank unless you’re 100% sure of the direct parent.Don’t type literal None unless it’s a real member; leave IC/UD blank or use your member when required.Make sure Scenario → Cube mapping matches your CubeName. If JournalBalanceType=Balanced, totals of Debits = Credits per journal.2) Save as CSV (UTF-8)Keep only the upload rows on the active sheet (no notes above/beside them).File → Save As → CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (.csv).
