We are using an extender business rule to run FdxExecuteDataUnit and write the data (with dimensionality) to a file. The file generated seems to be a standard format with a column for each dimension. Does anyone have any ideas on how to include the Member IDs in the file export? Thank you, Denise
I am having difficulty writing an amount to a prior month via a Finance business rule. Specifically, for forecasting purposes in the last month of a quarter we calculate an excess amount and then want to spread that amount to the last two months in the quarter. I can successfully calculate and write to the last month but cannot seem to write to the prior month. For example, in Q2 as of June calculate the excess amount and then write 50% in May and 50% in June. Has anyone been able to accomplish something like this? Thanks in advance.
Hello Community,I'm writing a rule to copy data from one scenario to another using api.data.calculate.However, I would like to exclude some accounts from being copied. Something like the following:api.Data.Calculate("V#YTD:S#ACTUAL=RemoveZeros(V#YTD:S#ACTUAL_TEST)","A#Root.Base.remove(A#CAPEX_ACCOUNTS.Base)") I understand that the Remove function will not accept a member expansion. Members to be removed must be listed in the function as specified in this post:"What is the best approach to “subtract” members in a hierarchy, the following member filter is not returning the expected results. E#Tot_Mgmt.Remove(Houston) | OneStream Community"But is there any alternative to do it without listing accounts to remove one by one ?Any help is appreciated!Thank you
Hello, I'm trying to calculate an External and Internal Gross Profit calculation based off a few conditions. To calculate External/Internal GP, I need to allocate the ExtCGSOther group + OpExp using our UD1 MFGResale between External/Internal using an allocation basis of ExtMLBS and IntMLBS (with the exception of account 6123 which is 100% External). I need this calculation to be on a dept by dept basis. I'm not really sure where to start and I tried looking at Golfstream but couldn't find anything that fits what my company is asking me to build. Thanks, Will
HelloWe are using the BRApi.Utilities.SaveFileBytesToUserTempFolder command in a dashboard extender rule to open a file generated by IFS. It will create PDF or Excel files based on the extension of the file. When the user tries to open either file type they get one of the following errors.I am able to locate the generated file in my Temp folder but it won't let me open from there either.Has anyone see this or know of a solution? I am aware it is a MS issue probably not OS, but was just thinking there may be a new way to generate these files so MS doesn't think they are corrupted. The client is currently on 7.4.2. They had previously been on 6.8.1 but apparently have not used this dashboard since then.Thank youCR
Dear all, We have 2 custom calculate functions (Finance BR) that are executed one after the other. The 1st one uses V#Period as POV and the 2nd uses V#YTD as View POV. These POV are set on the data management steps that use these functions. We'd like to merge both functions into one to simplify maintenance but the fact that they use different View POV creates an issue; if the data management steps uses V#Periodic or V#YTD, one function will work properly but not the other. Do you know how it can be set as a fixed View POV into the functions itself? Maybe there's a way updating the value of the "args" variable that is used as an input into the formula.Thank you for the help and guidance.Best regards,Carlos
We have FX rates published in a table to/from virtually every currency in the world. However, this is something like 70k rates a month and the vast majority are for currencies we don't use in our OneStream application. The majority of the rest are for combinations that we don't use. Of these tens of thousands of rates, only about 25-30 are actually relevant. I'm trying to automate this filtering using the currency filter from the application properties, which returns a simple comma-separated list, like so: CAD,EUR,JPY,USD In this example, I want all rates to/from USD. So, I ditch the ",USD" and want to filter on the three remaining currencies: CAD,EUR,JPY Writing a query in SSMS, this is trivial. Writing the query with straight up string manipulation in the BR is also straightforward. However, I'm trying to be (perhaps needlessly strict/cautious) by passing this in as a parameter. This makes me want to use my laptop as a non-brand-specific flying disc and restart life as a hermit in a
I encountered this Boolean today for the first time after writing (and reviewing) code for five years. There is no mention of it that I can find in the documentation. Based on the name itself, I can guess that this is a Boolean to make sure you're not on C#Elimination or any other of the "non-Currency" members of the Cons dimension.Have I guessed correctly?
Hello,I'm working on a rule that drills back into source stage data from the target summary table. I'm receiving an error on the ReadSourceDataForSummaryRow line that the method or operation is not implemented. I've verified that the parameters I'm passing are correct and in the correct format.Dim importTable As List(Of TargetDataInfo) = BRApi.Import.Data.ReadSummaryTargetData(si, si.WorkflowClusterPk, Nothing) If importTable.Count > 0 For Each importLine As TargetDataInfo In importTable Dim summaryRowID As Guid = importLine.SummaryRowID api.LogMessage("before, summaryRowID: " & summaryRowID.ToString) Dim sourceLinesForSummaryID As List(Of SourceDataInfo) = BRApi.Import.Data.ReadSourceDataForSummaryRow(si, summaryRowId) api.LogMessage("after") Next End IfHas anyone else encountered this issue before? I'm working in OS version 8.2.3, but didn't see anything relevant in subsequent release notes.Thank you!
Currently I have a button on a dashboard that will run a business rule that checks if a specific load task is completed. If it is, it will trigger a data management job to run. If the load job is not completed the process ends. I would like to trigger a pop-up window telling the user if the data management package is not going to run. So far I have been unable to figure out the commands to do this with-in my business rule. Thanks, Tom
Hello, I have a weird behaviour when defining dynamically the dashboard layout. If I define dynamically the dashboard layout to be either a vertical stack panel, horizontal stack panel, or uniform, then all of my components render as expected. However, if I want to define them as grid (3 rows, 2 columns), then nothing is rendered. I did use (in that order, if that has any consequences) : contant DashboardLayoutType.Grid property GridLayoutDefinition.RowDefinitions as a list of xfgridlayoutrowdefinition property GridLayoutDefinition.ColumnDefinitions as a list of xfgridlayoutcolumndefinition The logs are telling me that the dashboard indeed is now a grid with 3 rows and 2 columns, however all of my components are not rendered in the dashboard. Being a grid : Being a vertical stack panel, horizontal stack panel, or uniform : I do know that a grid is intepreted differently as a XAML grid class but I have no clue why it wouldn't be rendered with my components in it. Any help or
Hello, I can find no documentations about the "GetDynamicAdaptersForDynamicComponent" that is under the dynamic dashboard services. How to use it ? How to define a dynamic adapter ? My goal is to create dynamically a label component (which is done), but I would like to add a data adapter to it. Unfortunately, I haven't been succesful in dynamically linking a data adapter to my label : Regards,
Hi, I am working on extracting data from a Cube view to a flat file. I am using FDXExecuteCubeView query to extract. The extract file is executed to run for one year. I am seeing for each Entity, Scenario, Time (DU) a log entry is created in Task Activity. The Task Activity is getting flooded with cube view log entries. Is there a way to stop the Cube view entries for each Page (Entity, Scenario, Time).? On the Cube view I have the log setting set to False and also in the FDXExecuteCubeView setting I have the logStatistics setting set to False. Is there a way to not log the entry for each time cube view is run for (Entity, Scenario, Period)? Appreciate your inputs!
Hello,I am trying to execute this assembly at load time for this specific dashboard. The rule executes as expected, but I cannot seem to get the parameter to function properly. Here is how it is returning in the log:It's as if it is not reading it as a parameter at all. Any suggestions?
Our beginning balance formula is as follows: 'Check to see if we are in period 1If api.Time.IsFirstPeriodInYear() Then ......... Else ............... This formula worked perfectly rolling from 2023 into 2024, but now in 2025 we are having issues. EX: In Feb 2025, the beginning balance is reverting back to Dec 24 instead of Jan 25. Any insight into where I might start in figuring out this error? I tried looking at our business rules for api.time and didn't see anything that stood out. Thanks!
Hello Experts, I am wondering if any one has worked on requirement where 2 entities need to be translated at 2 different rates for Budget scenario. I know how we can translate entire scenario by historical rate. I am not sure having entity filters will work in this case or I should be looking at different approach? Thanks,MP
Hello,Something a little different here. Below is an OS Dashboard. The client is leveraging SmartLinks to navigate specified users here (via Email). Upon selecting the link, the user is navigated here on the browser. The first red box indicates the Project to select. SmartLinks allows this to be prepopulated so the dashboard is defaulted with the correct information upon arrival.Everything is working as expected besides the pesky SQL table editor component. Web View:It is important to note that the SQL Table Editor component is populated via Dashboard Extender rule, which is executed when the Project is selected. In this case, the project is already selected, but I cant seem to get the extender rule to execute upon arrival to the dashboard. Any ideas? I want to believe this is less with the new SmartLinks feature and more with standard OS logic.
Hi everyoneWe want to do a sign flip on an account to be applicable from a certain period. The sign flip must therefore not have an affect on historic periods. The requirement is as follows:Perform a sign flip on an account data coming from a source system using a transformation rule complex expression where the month period is > 202412.We would appreciate suggestion from anyone who has performed something similar in the past. ThanksJohan
Hi, Does anyone have an example where multiple dbwheres on the same column are executed? The syntax seems to support AND/OR, but I can't seem to get it working. I have the following dbWheres (without the AND/OR part): Dim dbWhereEntity As New DbWhere("Entity", dboperator. In, entityFilter) Dim dbWhereResignationDate As New DbWhere("TermDate", dboperator.IsGreaterThan, dateEndOfMonth) Dim dbWhereResignationDate2 As New DbWhere("TermDate", dboperator.IsEqualTo, Nothing) Individually, the ResignationDate dbwheres seem to work. The SQL statement needs to look something like this: SELECT * FROM MyTable WHERE (TermDate > @DateEndOfMonth OR TermDate IS NULL) AND Entity = 'MyEntity'; (I know I could build a SQL statement and execute that as a work-around, but I'm just curious how this works) Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Does someone knows the syntax to call a memberlist that is written in a Finance MemberList service accessed via a service factory? I've tried many forms but cannot get to my code. Thanks
I am receiving this error when writing a business rule, any idea on how I can remove this error? Here is the portion of the business rule where I am using 'si': Dim objXFResult As XFResult = BRApi.Finance.Data.SetDataCellsUsingUsingCsvFile(si, filePath, delimiter, originFilter, targetOriginMember, loadZeros)
Hello, We experience performance problems when we try to export Onestream data for insertion into a third-party system. For 100 entities and 12 months, processing takes 20 hours and is often killed by the system.Apparently, it's the dynamic accounts that take up a lot of time during extraction.Do you have the same problem and what are the solutions to optimize the export? Thanks
Hi Everyone,Has anyone worked on establishing an SFTP connection in extensibility rules using a PPK file? I am currently facing an issue where, despite setting the SshPrivateKeyPath property in the session options, I receive the error: "No supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey)."Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated.Thank you,Mithun
Hi, I've been looking into the audit trails for O#Forms and O#Import data. The audit trail for O#Forms data seems to be in good shape, with changes tracked in tables like DataEntryAuditCell and DataEntryAuditSource. For O#Import data, I've found some audit information in the staging area tables, such as StageArchivesInformation and vStageSummaryTargetData. However, this doesn't cover everything - for example, it doesn't account for data that's been imported but not yet loaded into the cube, or data imported using a business rule.Is there a way to get a more complete audit trail for O#Import data, that focus on the Cube data rather than Stage data?
Does anyone know if you can create an Excel spreadsheet from Business Rules? I do not mean a csv file - I need to create multiple sheets. The OpenXMLBuilder object doesn't seem to have anything with writing files. I don't want to use a third-party object as that would require an installation or download. Thanks for any suggestions.
