Hi, I have a matrix data source matrixed on Account. Sample below. One of the Account fields is a Date that I need to convert to a Long to store. I can do the conversion but not sure how to target the value to convert when in a matrixed data source. If it were a delimited data source I would use: Dim sDateField As String = api.Parser.DelimitedParsedValues(6). Is there a way to identify the value in a matrixed data source? thanks Greg Code1 Entity Account1 Account2 Account3 Test1 Entity1 1/1/24 0.025 0.5 Test2 Entity2 5/1/24 0.025 0.5 Test3 Entity3 3/1/25 0.025 0.5
If an API and a BRAPI accomplish the same action, like returning a text field from an account, a developer can use either without consequence in a Finance Business Rule. I am trying to figure out how to share a structure between OS BR files. In an Extender BR file named ExtenderBR I have: Public Structure MyStruct Public Element1 As String Public Element2 As Boolean Public Element3 As Integer End Structure Public Function MyFunct1() As String Return "" End Function Public Function MyFunct2() As MyStruct Return New MyStruct End Function In my Finance BR file, I include the BR\ExtenderBR from above and include a line Dim ExtenderBR As New OneStream.BusinessRule.Extender.ExtenderBR.MainClass Dim xx As String=ExtenderBR.MyFunct1() 'This works ExtenderBR.MyFunct2() 'Generates error, as the Finance rule doesn't know about the custom Structure Any thoughts how to share MyStruct across multiple OS Business Rules files?
Hello, I am trying to create a FX Scenario - Acutuals at Prior Year Rate. I know i can use Constant Year For FX Rate and assign the year from which OneStream will pick Actuals rate in this case. But i dont want the user to be changing this property every year. My approach is to set "Translation Algorithm Type" to "Standard Using Business Rules For FX Rates" and create a custom translation for that specific scenario "Actuals at Prior Year Rate". Does anyone has the logic to translate the scenario using Actual Exchange rate tables switching one year back from the POV being translated?
Hi, I have an application DB table with a date column and I am using the LoadCustomTableUsingDelimitedFile function to load a CSV file to the table. The xfDateTime# token is assigned to the column in the LoadCustomTableUsingDelimitedFile function. The dates in the CSV file are in the dd-mm-yyyy format. However, the LoadCustomTableUsingDelimitedFile function assume the dates are in the mm-dd-yyyy format. Data is loaded but when querying the table using the Month() SQL function for example, the day is return instead. Is there a way to make sure LoadCustomTableUsingDelimitedFile knows the date column in the data file is in the dd-mm-yyyy format? Thank you
Hi, We have a cascade entity structure, where one of the sub-elements consolidates up to a certain period, and after that period the other begins to consolidate. Entity A1 has an investment in Entity B11. Consolidating 2019M12, the application calculates an elimination of consolidated reserves in both parents Entity B1 & Entity B2, regardless of the fact that Entity B2 does not consolidate until 2022M8. I would like to know if anyone else has had a similar problem and has been able to solve it. Thank you, Sara
In a Spreadsheet (TableView) business rule, I am trying to reference the view created during the load of a BiBlend Star Schema. In our case when I create the BiBlend Star Schema tables, I also see that a view is automatically created that links the dimension tables to the fact table. I would like to read this view as my datasource for my table view. I added the line the following line: sql.AppendLine("FROM vBIB_OneStreamDevelopment_COPA_AnalysisImport_COPA_BiBlend_2023M6") When I open the Table View in the OneStream spreadsheet I get the error message "Invalid object name 'vBIB_OneStreamDevelopment_COPA_AnalysisImport_COPA_BiBlend_2023M6'. I can read this view using a Data Adapter without issue, but when I embed in a Table View rule I get the above error.
The below finance rule will sort the members in my case it is entity and it will take the parameters in the Cube view. Is it possible to calculate slope, Correll and Intercept for a given factors vary by 12 periods using OS Finance Rules? If so, what are the libraries, I need to Import? Appreciate any suggestions how I can implement this in OS.
Hihi, I am using a variant of the GolfStream finance business rule "XFR_MemberListAlphabetical" and need to pass an additional variable into the rule. For a Finance rule, is it possible for a CV or QV to pass the MF variable to the rule? Currently, the rule is setup statically on a starting entity: Dim MemberListstart As String = "E#[Total GolfStream].base"" However, because our organization has thousands of entity, the finance rule passes all base entity into the QV. With suppression, I can arrive at the relevant members, however, it significantly slows down the rendering of the report. I've tried using the api.POV command, but it passes the user CV pov, which is not always relevant to the CV. Is there a way to pass a variable using something like an args.NameValuePairs()? I am having difficulty with the limitations of the finance rule VBA set. Essentially, I need the memberfilter builder of "E#[MyEntity].XFR_MemberListAlphabetical,Ent_Sort]" to use "E#[MyEntity] as
I don't know much about method queries, so I'm hoping to get some feedback on how to build off of or reference the data tables as well as where these tables are stored. The ICMatchingForWorkflowUnitMultiPlug method type used in the Intercompany Matching application reports returns the entities as "Name - Description," which causes a few problems for us considering our entity names' were created with an obscene number of characters and underscores. I've copied the reports and data adapters, but not sure how to write the script within the Report Designer or how to alter the data adapter... Any suggestions?
Dear Community, For one of my project I need to get the values of a given cube view as a data table within my business rule. I can fairly use the FdxExecuteCubeView which will give me this kind of output : Cube Entity Local Scenario Time YTD Account None Top None None None None None None None None None 22.86874 21.68644 1.182297 5.451777 while my cube view is only showing accounts in rows and time in columns. One of the problem here is that I don't get the columns headers for the values ... So my question is : is there a way to get an data extract in a form of a data table directly from a cube view with the same rows & columns headers only ? Many thanks and happy holidays !
I have a dashboard that has 2 components,. 1. A Combo Box that is populated with a sql query in a Bound List Parameter. 2. A Spreadsheet that is populated with a Table View. The table view is generated using a Spreadsheet Business Rule. How do I pass the selection from the combo box to the table view? Thank you for any suggestions.

Could you please provide a sample script with example to Generate the base mambers of UD2 dimension into a Variable. I'm trying to follow the below syntax, but it's not working for UD Dimensions Dim baseMembers As List(Of Member) = api.Members.GetBaseMembers(entityDimPk, entityId, Nothing) Appreciate your assistance.
Hello OS experts, I have BR that load P&L bucket and one BR that loads my BS bucket. I have DM sequence which load P&L,BS and then does consolidation etc. I want to know if I am able to write new BR or something I can do in DM to load P&L and BS data parallel to save time. Let me know your thoughts and example code if you are doing it at your job. ThanksSaurin *Migrated from onestream champions
I would like to reference in a BRAPI rule text stored in the workflow profile's Substitution Text Settings. Can someone provide an example how to do this please.
Hi all, Happy New Year! Is there a way of extracting an active entity list from OneStream including Entity Name, Description, and Currency fields by using a data management job? Any ideas will be appreciated. Thank you!
I have a business rule that requires referencing aggregated divisional (entity) data several times over the course of the rule. Base level entities run their rules and at a point in the rule, the entity needs the aggregated divisional result and so a consolidation to division. Can the data management jobs for consolidation have the consolidation filter set to C#Aggregated and the rule get the correct aggregated divisional numbers from the consolidation? Or, is C#Aggregated only for data reporting? Does the rule POV need to use C#aggregated when referencing divisional entity data or can this left out of the rule? I have run some tests and the answer seems to be yes, DM jobs with C#aggretated produce data that can be referenced in rules and no, the rule does not need C#aggregated in its divisional entity POV. Can anyone comment on this more? Thanks.
I need some help building out the following two calculations on stored member formulas. They would need to run at every UD. 1) = MIN((A#Account1 - 4.5%), (A#Account2 - 6%), (A#Account3 - 8%)) 2) = MAX((A#Account1 - Account2 - Account3 - Account4),0) Thanks so much!
Hi, I'm trying to pull in the descendants and the parent member of an account into a data buffer. e.g. something of the form FilterMembers(A#All, A#Gross_Sales.DescendantsInclusive). When I log the data buffer and examine my results, however, I'm only seeing the base member data and none of the parents. Could anyone provide me any suggestions on how to pull all of this data into a single data buffer? And can anyone tell me why my data buffer doesn't produce the results I'm expecting? Thanks!
It appears to be possible to set the SiblingID in RelationshipPositionOptions, so it exists as a property. How do I "read" it to see what it is for a member? Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Hi, I have a CV Form where the input is a "Date" Cell Type. I need to use the date to translate to a OS Time Period. I am struggling with using the Date value in a Business Rule. It only returns an Integer and I can't seem to convert the integer to a Date in the BR so I can grab the Year (Dim strYear As String = Date.ToString("yyyy")). Any help with this? thanks, Greg
