Anyone experience slow response times when mutiple QuickView files are open and you are refreshing only one?

When multiple QuickView files are open, but only one is connected to the Add-In, users have experienced long refresh times when refreshing the one sheet in the active file. Is this common and is the best practice to only have one file open at a time?  What contributes to the latency in refresh if the other files are not connected?
