VLWDataRecord Tables - Conversation

Does anyone know of any information related to the new VLWDataRecord tables that are new in OneStream 9.3?

  • There is nothing in the release notes and nothing in the documentation.
  • Teams are seeing issues with the Data Records tool on the system tab.
  • The vDataRecordAll View excludes those tables (and there is no vVLWDataRecordAll view at all).
  • Has anyone tested solutions that may access data tables more directly (like FDX) to see if there are issues?
  • Does anyone know how OneStream is choosing where to store data? It appears that some data is going to the new tables, but some data remains in the old tables.

We have some nervous team members and nervous clients looking to upgrade, but unsure of the implications of this change. Honestly, I can’t blame them, since fundamentally changing the database schema for how your cube data is stored in OneStream without any information is a bit nerve-wracking.

We’d appreciate any conversation related to this topic so the community has a better idea what is going on.

PhilB,

There was a hotfix released, 9.3.1, to correct an issue where newly created cubes (in 9.3) were utilizing the tables specified.  The issue is referenced in the 9.3.1 release notes, but please reach out to OneStream Support for more details if needed.

Thanks.
