Task Manager Auto-Status Function

Is it possible to auto start tasks that are configured with the auto-status function in Task Manager? The auto-status function doesn’t work unless the task is started, which kind of defeats the purpose for my use case below.

I have two different requirements from the operational and corporate accounting teams related to journal entries tasks in Task Manager. The operational accounting team posts a single JE for five entities (i.e. month-end allocations) and views this as one task. However, the corporate accounting team needs a view of the close by legal entity, so they would like to see five individual tasks by legal entity for that single JE. I was planning to use the auto-status function to Prepare the individual legal entity tasks once the operational accounting team marks their single task as Prepared using an XFBR. The auto-status function using the XFBR works once the task is started, but manually starting the five individual tasks kind of defeats the purposed of auto preparing it since the operational accounting team doesn’t want to manually complete a bunch of individual tasks for something they view as a single task.

    I would also like to learn of auto-status function for Task Manager. We have DM sequences that today we are scheduling manually in the Task Scheduler but it’s less than ideal functionality since the date needs to manually be updated every month. 

    It would be ideal if we could leverage the auto-status of Task Manager to have the DM sequence executed but as mentioned above manually having to start the task defeats the purpose of automation.
