OneStream 7.4.1 (On-Prem)Looking to upgrade to 7.4.2.Has anyone developed a strategy to upgrade OneStream with minimal downtime?  Uninstalling and reinstalling the application takes time, and I would like to avoid as much downtime as possible.I am using 1 server for everything.I was thinking I could install 7.4.2 in another folder, but I believe the install would attempt to create the same IIS app pools that already exist.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Creating a post for custom coloring in dashboards.   For example, Onestream's dashboard selections give the option for custom color, however, it does not let you select it in the formatting. It only shows the option for #FF00000 (at least from what I have seen).   The above format is HTML coloring codes that can be manually updated in the display format Typically when matching client colors I am given RGB color codes, So I use the below converter to get the HTML code and add #FF to the beginning of the provided hex code.   https://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_converter.asp

One of the new features in the 6.6 release is the introduction of Hybrid Source Scenarios.  I've watched the 6.6 release and read through the abbreviated examples in the admin guide. Both have good high level content, but they seem to be missing details around the Options section within the Hybrid Source Data of Scenario properties.Does anyone have any additional details around what options are available and a description of each? Hi,  As an admin user I can add and delete rows from a SQL table editor. However a non-admin user does not have access to do so. They can view the data but the add/delete row button on the toolbar are greyed out. Can someone tell me how to give them access to add/delete rows? Thank you Mark

If I have data coming from a connector in OneStream, and then I submit a sheet having XfSetCell formulas, what values will remain in OneStream after consolidation (having the same dimensions intersection)? The data coming from the connector, or the data submitted via XfSetCell? Thanks!

Hello,I am trying to limit the access of certain entities so they they can only see there own entites, i have it set up on the entities, cube, and the workflow profile so they have their own groups for each of their own set of data. The only issue is when they load their text files it is fine but when they run the transformation rules every line shows up as an invalid intersection and the error message is "No Security Access" for each line. I saw an article that recommended going to data access on the cube but i tested them empty and i tested them with what i thought the escalation rules should look like with no luck. So i wanted to see if anyone had any other ideas on possible solutions or where i might be wrong.Thank you

OS Version 7.4.2I have a SQL Table Editor in a dashboard.  Three columns: Date, Amount, Descr.  The user can edit Amount and Descr. No Inserts, no deletes.The table loads with a bunch of dates.  The user fills in amounts in records where needed. The descr and amount columns both accept nulls.With the "Save Data Server Task" set to "No Task", when an amount is added to one record (or several), and save is clicked, the following error occurs:With the "Save Data Server Task" set to "Execute Dashboard Extender Business Rule", I specify a Rule and get the same "Wrong Number of database rows" error.If I use the SQL Table Editor code supplied by OneStream in the Rule, the error in the log is:I'm trying another version of this which omits the use of the Using block. Hello experts,How can we copy just data from an application to another?We have an on-premise setup and would like to copy data from prod environment to lower environment application.I know we can do simply do entire DB copy for that application, but it'll replace everything (like app artefacts).Is there a way we can just copy underlying data of an application? I noticed some data tables (BinaryData20xx, DataRecord20xx), but not sure if simply copying them will work. Thanks,Gaurav

Hello,We have received a question from a client's audit team and was hoping someone could point to any documentation regarding this as I've searched but couldn't find anything. Does anyone, OneStream or otherwise, have access to the default 'Administrator' account that is in OneStream applications? It seems like it is used to run the automated tasks like taking system diagnostic snapshots. Just need to know if anyone can access the account or if it is really just for system tasks. Thanks.

Dear Team, I'm trying to use 2023 time member, to see all YTD values till today, but it seems to be empty.It doesn't make sense as we reported Jan-Apr figures. I have made a consolidation on T#2023 member, but it doesn't change anything. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Well, I actually have a question about this, but the subject starting with "Fict or Fiction" sounded cool to me. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that in a future of OS, a limited web access will be restored, especially for those remote users inputting a small set of data in remote places in big organizations (e.g. accounting companies doing the book keeping for small remote subsidiaries of big organizations that are not really interested in installing and dealing with OS application for such a small task). But now I can't see anything about it. And I have the feeling I dreamed about it. Is this thing planned? By the way, I have some clients still running old versions where web access is possible. For me and few other people working there, navigation via web browser is incredibly much faster than with the OS windows application. Basically each click opens a page (e.g. dimensions or any standard page) nearly immediately, while at all other clients with OS applicaton, this takes from 1 s

Hello All,We have created a weekly forecast dashboard for our users (weeks are mapped as scenario, e.g. Week1, Week2 etc.) and intend to restrict them to current week scenarios only to avoid posting to a wrong one.Currently we use parameter, where users select the current week from a drop down and input data, Is it possible to provide them access only to the relevant scenario (week) instead of giving them a drop down, without admins having to make changes every week?

Hi there,I'm testing out the capabilities of OneStream for a PoC. Is there any way for a front-end user to add new members to, e.g., an account dimension through a component of a dashboard? Ideally using a variable specified within the dashboard.In the example screenshot, I want to enter a name in the text box, press the green button, and have the specified name added to the dimension of the cube view below.Thanks!! 🙂

Dear Community, Can we export a hierarchy/hierarchies into a relational table? For an instance if I want to export the complete hierarchy of any Dimension into a table view format whether it will be possible?  I could see we have a Load/Extract to extract the metadata for a hierarchy, is there any other way to showcase or export into it in the form of tables?

Hello - we recently updated the stored values in the Percent Consolidation property in several large entity hierarchies, so there are 3 stored items with different time periods for each child. We found today that when we pull data using a YTD view, whether in the Excel add on or a cube view within the Windows application, the consolidated numbers on the parent do not match the children when the latest stored value is applied to the child data. However, we did find when the view is changed to Periodic the consolidated parent data matches the product of the child data and the current Percent Consolidation. Is this issue related to the Consolidation View on our Actual scenario? Its currently set to Periodic. If this helps, our Consolidation Algorithm Type is Standard.

Hi All,Ive got a problem with transformation/load cube workflow steps in our build, It has been in our applications for over six months (an older dev application has the same problem). This error doesn't seem to cause a problem in our data although may affect a dimension we put into our application for future use, I want to isolate it regardless. The error is an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object error" and doesn't actually stop the workflow step from completing, making it difficult to track exactly what is going wrong. It also doesn't flag when compiling all business rules being only apparent whilst running the rule. This error occurs on all the load/retransform steps I have tested although that doesn't help much as a lot of our transformation rules overlap.Id really like to know if there is a way of viewing which business rule is failing on running these processes but cannot fathom how, is there a way to do this? Thanks,Tom 

I have been trying to give a couple of our users access to the Database Page in the System Pane. I created a new security group named DatabasePageAccess (and SystemPaneAccess) and add another security group and 2 specific users to this new group. I then changed the security group on the System Security Roles for the DatabasePage System User Interface Role to "DatabasePageAccess" and SystemPane to SystemPaneAccess. Asked the 2 users to test it out. They were able to see the System Pane now but cannot see the Database page still. I have been going in circles and cannot reason why they cannot see the database page when I seem to have done it all correctly.
