Data Records Tool Returns No Records with v9.3 Cubes

Hey Community!

The other day I was troubleshooting a data import against a set of Cubes that were created in a v9.3 environment, where my Quick View was returning no records even after verifying intersections and confirming the “Load Complete” status on the import. Naturally I went to use the Data Records tool to confirm if the data was truly loaded but no records were returned in the Tool (which led me on a wild goose chase). Lo and behold, even in cases where there were definitely records in the Cube, the Data Records Tool returned no records.

So maybe I missed it in the release notes, or maybe it’s just this environment, but is the Data Records Tool meant to work with the new VLWDataRecord tables?

Thanks!

Hi,
The issue has been fixed.

FYI, message from the support:
“a cube that was created before the 9.3.1 hot fix would show the issue . Once we remove the data and change the setting for the cube and done a reset IIS the issue was resolved . Any new cube created in 9.3.1 will not show the issue.”

Bye

Is this a new 9.3 environment where the Cubes were created from scratch in the 9.3.x environment?

Has the 9.3.1 service release been applied to this environment?

The DataRecord Tool is going to return cube data from the DataRecord Tables or the Binary Data Record Tables.  If you are seeing data loaded to the VLWDataRecord tables in your application, please open a case with the OneStream Support Team to discuss this situation.

Thank You

  1. The cubes were created from scratch in a 9.3.0 environment (the dev environment was upgraded to 9.3.0 in June and that’s where the cubes were created)
  2. Yes, the 9.3.1 release has been applied to the dev environment
  3. Hmmm there are about 80k rows in the VLWDataRecord2026 table

Thanks!

Please contact Support and work with them. You should not use the new cube type without help from us, but I know it’s possible on some builds to unknowingly end up in that situation.

Hi,
I have exactly the same issue.
New environment in 9.3.1, new cube created, I have filled data on it.
But I can’t see anything in the table Datarecord20xx …
