Can you load two cubes (extended or not) from one central import?

You can only load to one cube. You're right, not only does the data source apply to a specific cube, but the workflow integration cube name setting forces you to load to one cube. You can always use the workflow process step and other methods to move data between cubes, but not directly from an import.
