I have a dashboard that has a button and multiple checkboxes attached. When clicking the button, I want it to verify if the user has checked any boxes, and if so, export data that corresponds to the checkboxes. If no checkbox is selected, upon clicking the button, I want the user to receive the following message: "No export option was selected. Please check the tables you want to extract and try again." The current behavior works for when a checkbox is selected. But if I uncheck all boxes and hit the button, it gives me the message, but also opens the file with the data that corresponds to the last checked boxes. The navigation action for the button is currently set to Open File. Any ideas on how to stop opening the file if no checkboxes are selected? Thank you!
Hello, I created some vertical stack panel dashboards but when I run them, they all open on the bottom. Is there something I'm missing on why they're not opening to show the first component I've put in? Thanks, Will
Hi - I am currently working on a dashboard that leverages a data adapter to an external database to fetch detailed GL transactions (similar to drillback functionality) and return them in a BI Viewer table within a dashboard. The SQL statement currently works as intended for when referencing a single, base member account and comparing to a bound account parameter a la: WHERE sql_data_account = '|OSAccountParameter|' I'd like to modify this so that records are returned for all base members of an account a la: WHERE sql_data_account IN '|OSAccountParameter|.base' However, I can't get anything similar to the above to work. I assume it's because '|OSAccountParameter|.base' gets read a string literal. Any ideas on how I can reference a list of base member given an account provided by a parameter in SQL? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Hi - I am working on a BI Viewer dashboard and need some help with hyperlink formatting. I am using a SQL data adapter to an external database which amongst other things, is fetching an internet URL which we are trying to display as a hyperlink with alternative text. Ideally we'd be able to display text from an alternate line item but I'd settle for something static (i.e. "link"). Thus far I haven't found a way to display anything other than the link text itself and couldn't find anything in the documentation that references the "hyperlink" option under "Data Items / Column Options". Example of current output: Any help would be greatly appreciated!
How can I view more than one plug accounts when doing a report in Intercompamy Matching? Or I can only use one plug account.
I am trying to build a stacked bar chart with time on the x-axis. Time is being chosen via a parameter in the cubeview and then populating the 12 months prior to the time chosen as well as the time chosen. The time profile being used a custom profile with M1 being April. When I enable "Add Start End Calendar Time" in the data adapter and use "StartTime" as my argument, the data comes through for the right months, however the descriptions for time are that of a standard time profile (i.e. M1 is January) even though it is pulling April data. When I disable "Add Start End Calendar Time" in the data adapter and use "Time" as my argument, I get the correct time descriptions for the custom time profile, but they are out of order (displaying in alphabetical/numerical order). Does anyone know a way around this?
I am wanting to use a custom Data Style that I have made in Excel, in a OS Quick View. I have followed the instructions found here but it seems that the custom style does not populate as an option in the OneStream Quick View settings. Is there something I have to do after creating it in excel, but before using it in OS?
Wondering if anyone knows how to scale data in quick views. Looked through the formatting options and couldn't find anything that would do what I'm looking for. ie. 123,445 can be scaled in thousands to 123. Thanks, Scott
I am looking for a way to run a report for all time periods on percent consolidation. Currently the only way I know how to do this is by running a grid view of for each month. Does anyone know a more efficient solution?
I am looking to extract the data of a selected row in a grid view by click a button inside a dashboard;

Hi, A question that come back rather often is how to retrieve in a "user friendly" format the workflow an entity is assigned to. You can find hereunder a dynamiccalc you can assign to an UD8 in order to retrieve that information. Hope this helps. Kind regards, Aymar 'This dynamiccalc member will show the workflow profile of the Entity as an Annotation 'User need to have access to the CubeRoot workflow profile Info If api.View.IsAnnotationType() Then Dim sourceSQL As New Text.StringBuilder Dim returnedText As New Text.StringBuilder Dim wfCubeRootInfo As WorkflowCubeRootInfo = TryCast(BRApi.Workflow.Metadata.GetCubeRootInfo(si, BRApi.Workflow.General.GetWorkflowUnitPk(si).ProfileKey, False),WorkflowCubeRootInfo) If Not wfCubeRootInfo Is Nothing Then sourceSQL.Append("SELECT [EntityMemberID]") sourceSQL.AppendLine(",[ProfileName]") sourceSQL.AppendLine("FROM [WorkflowProfileEntities]") sourceSQL.AppendLine("INNER Join [WorkflowProfileHierarchy] On [WorkflowPro
Power BI is Not Excel 😊 Microsoft Power BI vs. Excel: A Hilariously Technical Showdown Purpose and Functionality: Think of Microsoft Power BI as the flashy superhero of the data world, designed to turn boring numbers into eye-popping, interactive dashboards and reports. It’s the show-off cousin who just got a sports car. Conversely, Excel is the dependable, slightly nerdy sibling who’s been around forever, excelling (pun intended) at data entry, analysis, and complex calculations. The trusty old sedan has seen it all and done it all. Data Handling: Power BI is like a data-hungry beast that devours vast amounts of information from various sources – clouds, databases, and even the web's dark corners. It’s all about real-time munching and crunching. Excel? Well, it's the meticulous librarian of data, handling large datasets with care but getting frazzled if you dump a truckload of info on it simultaneously. It’s great for detailed work, but it prefers its data to be served in manageable
How can I download the intercompany matching reports it does not appear on my app. I tried to download it through Market place report package and I load up the zip file but nothing appears.
Hello, My colleague and I retrieved OneStream data using Quick view XX and noticed that there are discrepancies in the outcomes. We identified that the POV settings are different even though we used the same Quick View XX. Why this happened and how you update your fixed setting?
Hi all, Is it possible to apply .base/.children to the non-primary dimension in a member filter? For example, the below screenshot, I tried to apply the below member filter (A#101:U2#100.base), but it only returns the first member from the UD2 dimension. I understand that I could put the U2 dimension to the next expansion level, but just want to explore another way to combine the script into one expansion level. Thank you.
I'd like to change the Show Header property of a Cube View component on a Dashboard from a button on that Dashboard. How do I programmatically reference that property?
Hello, We recently upgraded to 7.4.2. Prior to this our Pie Captions were showing up when view the BI dashboard. However, since the upgrade we are noticing that we are unable to see the pie chart caption. In the BI Designed window I can see the pie chart caption, but when playing the dashboard it disappears. Is there a bug in the 7.4.2 version that affects this? As well I was wondering if there is a way to fix the data labels, currently we have the labels to display outside of the pie chart and we have two pie's side by side for Quarter over Quarter variance, however the labels are all on top of each other and we cannot see the labels correctly. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
What are the options available in onestream to distribute monthly standard excel reports (Email/Save to a network drive/Sharepoint site) to non onestream users? Also high level steps would be wonderful for the set up.
Hello, I was wondering if there is an option to have text in the row header wrap? The current version we are running allows us to wrap text in Excel by using ExcelWrapText=true in the formatting tab, but was wondering if there is a similar function available for the text to wrap in the row header? Thanks!
Hi all, I might be having a dumb moment here but I cant work out how to overcome a formatting issue. Im trying to restyle some reporting, all the formatting is on style parameters and in this case my highlighted columns are being overriden by the row total formatting. I just want the background colour as per the column formatting. I cant use targetted row overrides as the row set is shared and on a param (it could be one of 11 row sets in this report) Ive tried all the tricks to create a global override but nothing is working. I cant change the formatting on the row set as its used in multiple places and in a lot of cases it formats correctly, its just this report that works a little differently. Some trick or tip to get round this would be most appreciated! Thanks, Tom
Hi! We are using T#Pov.AllPriorinYearInclusive in a cube view but would like to change the order the months appear from oldest to newest (i.e. Jan to June) to current to oldest (June to Jan). Does anyone know how to do this? Thangs
hi, I am having trouble keeping the percentage sign for my percentage columns when running a report book from a CV. the percentage sign is working when it is in CV but not when it is exported to excel or when I run it in a report book. I did change the cell formatting for reporting as suggested in another post, which is changing ReportUseNumericBinding to True and set ReportNumbericBindingFormat to percent sign. But it is still not working for me. this is the formatting I am using for the column: BackgroundColor = White, ExcelNumberFormat = 0.00%, ExcelRightBorderColor = Black, ExcelRightBorderLineStyle = Thin, ExcelWrapText = True, ReportNumericBindingFormat = [#,###,0\%], ReportUseNumericBinding = True, ShowPercentSign = True
