Is it possible to update a users security group with a business rule? If I have them in Group A but want to add them to Group B without going to the system tab and updating their security manually can I update their groupings with a Business Rule? 

Hello Experts,I'm trying to automate an export of account hierarchy which is then used to replicate same hierarchy in another app/tool. However, when I export Metadata in XML (tried both via Business Rule or via Application>Load/Extract) , it doesn't capture information on order of arrangement among siblings.So, while loading XML extract to new app, by default all siblings are arranged in ascending order of their member names.Is there a way to capture this information when doing export? Thanks,Gaurav

Consolidation/Cube model can be set as YTD (Year To Date) or Periodic. In OneStream where do we set it up other than Scenario ?

Hi - not sure if this is the correction 'board'. OneStream Community,    We upgraded our on-prem OneStream 7.4.2 to 8.1.1 in our test environment.  We use SSO authenticating to external provider  GCCH.  Since upgrading the OS 8.1.1 application signon screen no longer fills in with the User name.  (please see screen shots).   This appears to be a BUG. Any insight is appreciated. Screen shot of our OS production – user name is filled in Upgraded our test OS from 7.4.2 to 8.1.1 – User Name is no longer filled in.

hello experts, we are using Actuals scenario with default view as YTD. Since it is YTD in nature, P&L accounts show reversal for next period (periodic view).we tried updating the property (see attached screenshot, updated highlighted to periodic) but still i'm seeing reversal for few entities. Pls see 2nd screenshot of data. Apr is the current month and May is the next month.  Can you please let us know if it is possible to avoid P&L reversal (periodic view) for next period by updating No Data Zero View for Non-Adjustment as Periodic for a scenario that has YTD as default view.     

Does anyone have information on how to get Data Cell Access (Slice) Security (henceforth DACS) to work when applying it to multiple UD dimensions?  The app has the entity and scenario security set.  Those are working fine.  If I put only one UD in the DACS, that also works fine.  The problem comes in when subsequent UD dimensions are added to the DACS.  It seems OneStream ignores the DACS and goes back to entity and scenario security. To add a bit more information, I have tried it multiple ways, with the multiple UDs in the same or different rows in the DACS setup.  It doesn't matter. Thank you.

Hello, We have a client who has requested the ability to use the alternate translation currency property on specific parent entities but then also to be able to pull that alternate currency in reports without changing the currency in the POV. For instance, the parent entity's currency is USD and it will be setup with EUR as an alternate translation currency in the equity pickup property section. The children of that parent entity are all EUR currency entities. In their reporting they would like to be able to show parent entity and children at the EUR without changing the Cons POV. The reporting could have multiple instances of this setup with different entities and currencies so setting the Cons to EUR wouldn't be an optimal solution. Ideally, they would like to set the consolidation to local for the whole report. We have alternate hierarchies setup but they would like to only worry about one member name for the parent and one hierarchy. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to achie

Hi all, Due to requirement,the conso type we use is force consolidation,while doing which noticed that more time is taken during "Aggregate child entities" and that too for specific year (2024). When drilled through it,noticed there are huge number of data cells processed for each entity. Example: for entity A,scenario 2024_241_M2 and time 2024M2,possible member combinations along with other UD dimensions is expected to create data  cells in 1000s (at the max) but noticed there are around 40k plus data cells created that stores value 0.(E#A:S#2024_241_M2:T#2024M2:U1#A_001:U2#None:U3#None....U8#None stores 0) I tried to clear the invalid data cells using clearcalculateddata as well as using data buffer, but nothing worked.Im still able to see 40k plus data cells. Kindly suggest options that clears the data cells itself and remove the invalid member combinations. Thanks  

 

Hi, I want to block Consolidations in prior year Forecasts and Budgets, as these should always be static.  I've already locked all Workflows,  but I'm still worried that Admins can run consolidations from Cube Views, etc. I've tried using Data Access in the Cube,  but none of that seems to actually do anything.  For example, I tried adding a Data Cell Conditional Input rule that makes the prior year and Forecast scenario Read Only,  but this doesn't prevent Consolidations from running. Any ideas?

In our date description the Januari month shows the wrong year. The date notation is correct, but de description in incorrect. Eg 2022M1 has a description of Jan 2021. This if very annoying and confusing for users in combo boxes at dashboards.   I have pinned it down to the wrong fiscal year start date was entered when our application was set-up.  The first period of data in the system is 2019m12. In the time profiles this was interpreted to a fiscal year start date of 12/31/2019.  When I change the fiscal year start date 1/1/2019 in a test environment to, the issue with the wrong year description in January is resolved an at first glance there are no other issues popping up.  However, because the time profiles are such a basic setting, we are hesitant to adjust his.  Question:  1. do you have recommendations for specific test we should run, before changing this setting 2. are you aware of a work around how the specific January description can be adjusted

Now I have it in two places on the tree.  It includes children with data.  I need to delete the one I just created, including all of the children, but I'm getting an error that says it can't be deleted with data. How can I go about fixing this?

Calculation Consolidation and Translation Algorithm Type Most common setting = Standard Settings based on design decisions on how consolidation and translation to be customized. Recommendation – Only change from Standard to Custom on sporadic cases. Elimination and Translation logic should be done either on the Member using O#Elimination

I am getting error on clicking on any of the artifact inside onestream application after i have logged in. For ex - If i click on dimension under application , it pops out that error. Strangely the error is happening only for me and not other users. Do you know of any Local onestream user data folder which can be deleted?    

Does anyone know how to delete Annotations? I have a DM step and no matter how I set it, it clears the numeric data but not the annotations. I see code to set an annotation value but do not see any code that will delete annotations.   Any thoughts?  Thank you, Bill

Hello,  I am new to OneStream. While adding dimension items below the root, it seems I may have inadvertently broken something. As a result, I am unable to view the dimensions—highlighted in yellow region below. Clicking ‘OK’ on the dialog shown in the screenshot did not restore access to those dimensions. I’m unsure how to rectify this or reset it back to normal. Appreciate any inputs on this. Thanks

I am wondering if anyone has changed the precision of the FxRate?  It shouldn't be to hard.  What I am wondering is if changing it would cause other issues ?  

When migrating Financial Close Applications from On Premise to The Cloud , how much testing is required or recommended post migration e,g checking excel report retrievals to verify data as before , key close processes ,data loads , currency settings , etc ? 

What's the best way to load historical data to accounts that have extended accounts under them in OS. For example in our current system we have data in Corporate accounts and we recreated them in OneStream but in OneStream we also extended those accounts to have regions local GL accounts under Corporate accounts.   Current system only has amounts in Account2 but in OneStream going forward data will be loaded to regions local accounts (LocalGL100, LocalGL200, LocalGL300)

Hi All - I have a quick question on Periodic Data Load for Balance Sheet. If I load Periodic data to BS accounts, will it calculate YTD automatically? or we need to write a formula to get the YTD value. Any Input would be appreciated ? Thanks      

Hi Community, do we have a onestream admin copilot? i recently came across copilot for azure sql database and was really impressed by DBA capabilities. I was wondering if OneStream has similar product that let us administrators use a chat based interface to figure out why our cubeviews/formulas or data load processes are running slower and recommendations to fix that. Currently we go through system generated or developer generated logs to figure what is causing the issue and go through documentation and use experience to modify artifacts, it would be great if we have azure sql copliot like feature to help admins.
